The comfy beds, the staff, the food for breakfast and dinner, especially the Thursday £10 steak night. The atmosphere in the characterful pub in the evenings.

Was never asked if everything was ok with the room and there were a few small issues: broken window handle, other window wouldn't close properly, shower head kept lowering itself until it jumped out of holder, broken loo brush, peeling paint above shower. I eventually reported these on my last morning to the breakfast staff. Small things, easily remedied but just felt these aspects lowered the review rating. Also, decor in bedroom very dated, but knew this from photo.

The breakfast was superb (Eggs cellent in fact ;) We had Full English on Morning 1 and everything on the plate was perfect...... the eggs were divine as we both love our eggs , one scrambled one poached and I cannot believe how tasty they were all 3 mornings :) The location is so central and convenient for us as we visit family in the area. Proximity to the town park is essential for entertaining little ones We had Main meal there 2 evenings and on both occasions the food was superb and always served with a smile even when staff were under great pressure

As a person who loves a drop of drink I found it impossible to pass the Welcoming bar area with the friendly servers , the locals always eager to share , and the Wonderful cold cider in generous pint sized measures :) needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed failing to walk past the bar ;) Also since we returned my partner has not stopped boasting bout how he didnt once hit the low beams in the bar and next year may look for a dedicated plaque ....I came , I saw , I ducked ;)

This is a delightful pub B&B and we were very impressed. Lovely and quiet down a little road off the high street. There were about 6 car spaces so at 5pm on a Weds we managed to bag one on arrival. The town/village seemed to have ample parking in car parks and on the road anyway. The Harveys real ales were good and the dinner was good too. The breakfast had very tasty bacon and sausage. The staff were very friendly. All four rooms were booked that night and I can see why. The wifi was exceptionally good. No drop outs while we listened to Radio Caroline on their internet broadcasts.

The staff was excellent! The chef was brilliant ( nothing to much ) and the food was great, the manager took was exceptional kind ( seriously caring about all his guests ), the bartenders, just everybody!! I DEFINATLY come back to the Rose and Crown. Also, this area is so beautiful! Did you know they got several exceptional good beers!? Ask for it!! The Rose and Crown is a true “AANRADER” (Dutch)

Perfect location for visiting Perch Hill. Lovely old pub in a beautiful village. The staff were very friendly and informative. Super evening meal with a kitchen that was very helpful with my sister's gluten allergy. Great value for money

Be prepared for staying in a pub of this age. low ceilings downstairs, sloping floors and steep stairs. Guest room doors are close to each other. Just as expected and full of bags of charm.

A lovely old inn. People running the site very nice, friendly and helpful. Donna was exceptionally helpful. Also the ambiance among the locals was good fun, we were included as well. We would definitely stay again. We came here to go to Batemans the National Trust property which also was lovely. A big thank you to Donna for decorating our table and the banners put up, it was an awesome result to see when we came down to dinner as it was my partners birthday. Thank you Donna and all.

We were very lucky with the car parking all the time. But I can imagine some people could get a bit peeved as it is limited parking. But, as said we were lucky.

In the right location for our needs. Quaint building. Breakfast was amazing. Very friendly staff - on arrival, at the bar, the waiter in the evening and the lady serving breakfast on the morning

The bedrooms were hot, it was an exceptionally hot weekend. Nighttime temp was in the low 20’s. Would have been nice to have a fan in the room, could be kept in the wardrobe when not in use. Not a big deal but would have been a nice touch, they did have a spare electric heater in the wardrobe, so could have a fan, or attach one to the wall. There was also a dirty towel left in one of the rooms, I’m guessing from a previous guest. Not really an issue. And only one towel in the double room, although that wasn’t a problem as it was a husband and wife sharing, so they were ok sharing

Location great with parking easy on the road or in the village car park. Staff lovely and friendly throughout our stay. Bonus of a Thursday Steak night for £10, brilliant value. Really lovely simple, comfortable room that was very clean with everything we needed. Minor paint peel above shower but did not affect our stay at all. Breakfast was full English which was great. Excellent value, lovely pub.

Nothing.

We had a great time. The beds were fine. The food was delicious, as were the Harvey's ales. The pub itself was lovely and all people of the Rose and Crown were very friendly. Intruiging photographs in the men's room, what's the story behind that?

It is a bit hard to adjust the room temperature, but I suppose that is part of the charm of a 16th century inn 😉
