Everything. Beautiful hotel, amazing restaurant with one of the best breakfasts and dinners we had, unique and mouthwatering cocktails and incredibly friendly staff. The Lofts Boutique Hotel is one of the best places I have ever stayed at, as everything is to absolute perfection. Liesl and Dylan of the front office shared great tips on things to do, which allowed us to make the most out of our (too) short stay and everyone spoiled us with genuine and caring service. Can't wait to come back!

Our choice of only staying 2 nights. Way too short for such an amazing place :-) kidding aside: nothing as the Lofts is as good as it gets!

We wanted a room with a view, and staying at the Lofts in Tower 1, we certainly got it. Private terrace, facing the lagoon where we could enjoy the sunset. The room was lovely and comfortable, decorated as beachy-chic. Lovely strong shower, just what you need after a dip in the lagoon. The breakfast (at Nest) was tasty, the bar had a cool vibe and there were plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. Lots of cute spaces within the hotel to chill out in if you can tear yourself away from the terrace and the hotel has kayaks too. Special mention of the concierge Dylan, who was super passionate about all the garden route had to offer and was so helpful with hints and tips on what to do within and around Knysna.

Apparently the bar and surrounding area can get a little noisy as people are having a good time, however we found the room perfectly sound proofed and relaxing and they provide ear plugs if you needed (we didn't need).

Definitely the best place to stay when in Knysna. We stayed with two little ones in a great appartment (large, stylish, comfortable, view over the lake). The staff is super friendly and the best restaurants are around the corner. Nice, safe (to walk) and child-friendly surroundings). When in South Africa again, we will come back for sure!

Very smooth check-in and all staff were friendly and professional - Dylan was especially helpful throughput our stay. Lovely room overlooking the bay and breakfast was very good. Great location with a choice of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity and a wider choice also within walking / short taxi drive distance. Reception supplied towels for our trip to the beach.

Not a huge fan of the open plan bathroom set-up in our room but to be fair this was highlighted at the booking stage. Impossible to have dinner in the on-site restaurant due to high number of external reservations from non-residents. Hotel bar closes rather early, e.g. 9 / 9:30pm.

Where do we start? The fact we booked a return visit within the same 3 week holiday says it all. From the moment we got there the excellent team at The Lofts Boutique couldn’t do enough for us. From activity recommendations, restaurant reservations or just helpful advice on our holiday as a whole, Allan and the team did it all. The hotel and rooms are just beautiful and the team have thought of all the finishing touches to make your stay effortless. The main and most important thing to us is that the team actually cared and you could tell from the excellent standards they had in every aspect of their service. It has a great balance of feeling like a luxury escape and a home away from home. We’re already planning our return visit and cannot wait to get back. Thank you to The Lofts Boutique. You really did make our holiday! If you’re contemplating this hotel, don’t. Just book it!

Having to go home!

First off, big shout out to all the staff who were excellent. Also special mention for Allan who went above and beyond to help with anything required. He took his own time to give us places where to go, good restaurants where to eat on our journeys, and always available for questions when needed. The room itself was fantastic with 1 balcony over looking the lagoon which was great at sunset. The front balcony had a couple of cape owls who gave great company throughout the stay 😁.

We loved ABSOLUTELY EVERTHING ! Right from the start Allan met us in the car park was extremely welcoming and informative he showed us round the hotel then took us to our room which was spotlessly clean our luggage was already in our room with a welcoming card and biscuits for our wedding anniversary…Allan and all the staff are incredibly informative,efficient and kind, the bed was extremely comfortable the room was spacious the island has plenty of amenities fabulous restaurants and shops to die for ! In fact I cried before we left ! I didn’t want to leave x

Nothing at all…..

We had an amazing sea view that also looked to the sunset. Large comfortable bed and sofa. Staff were amazing, both the hotel staff and the restaurant staff. We mainly ate at The Nest, the food was tasty and good portions. Il de pain which is the other option was also amazing food with bakery and patisserie options. There is a lounge area with games and a dec to relax in the sun with views over the sea.

No lift up to the floor our room was on for heavy suitcases, a very nice member of staff Josh helped with our bags when we arrived but we had to bring them down again. The shower is in the bedroom as opposed to in a separate bathroom, we didn't mind this but I'm not sure it would be everyone's ideal situation.

Perfect location - Convenient to everything. The hotel is quite unique, small and intimate and very well set up with everything on your door step. The staff were exceptional - Allan and Dylan especially - with help and advice on what to see and do. Love the WhatsApp way of communicating with reception who were always very quick to reply.

It was a bit noisy in the mornings, but lovely and quiet otherwise and had no trouble sleeping. The cooking smell from the Nest restaurant was quite strong at times breakfast time

The location of this property is nothing short of spectacular! Right on the waters edge of the Knysna Lagoon. The view from our room was mesmerising. The room itself was fabulous. Well appointed, very neat, very clean and well maintained. The linen on the bed and towels in the bathroom were in very good condition. The Nest restaurant in the hotel lobby was lovely, well decorated. The pastries were excellent. The check in process was good (see note below) and the staff were all very friendly and keen to assist. A real gem in Knysna. You will not regret staying here!

We did advise the hotel well in advance of our expected arrival time and we arrived at the hotel "on time". Our room was however not ready - even though we arrived after the noted check in time and in accordance with our advance warning on our ETA. HOWEVER, the staff were very quick to change our room and ensure we were not left standing around in the lobby waiting for the room to be sorted. So while this is not ideal, they did not hesitate to make the matter right - promptly.
