Location and customer service. Tue hotel was very welcoming and cosy.

Lights in bathroom did not turn off, kettle was broken however upon reporting it to the staff it was changed out. Some stains on carpet, blinds and bed cover.

Location was important to us and also to old world charm of the building.

We made the mistake of accepting a room near the reception area which turned out to be very noisy. The night manager continued to talk loudly well into the night and at 4:20am another episode of loud talking which made me get up and ask the person to keep it down.

The location was fantastic - our room had a view of Circular Quay and the Opera House. The hotel layout and decor was untypical of modern 'vanilla' hotels and we thought it was great - a unique place to stay. Impossible to stress the importance of the location - easy walking distance to Circular Quay train station and also the City Tram system (the terminus is at the train station).

Not exactly something we didn't like but the absence of a personnel lift could be a problem for those with a disability or lack of fitness. We were on the third floor and had no trouble at all - but others might.

Interesting hotel in the Rocks area of Sydney very convenient for circular quay, ferries, trains etc. We were lucky enough to watch the Australia Day celebrations just a 5 minute walk away. Decor is quirky, staff very friendly. We didn't opt for breakfast and found fab little bakery for coffee and pastry just around the corner. Room was on the smaller side but had everything you needed. We enjoyed our stay here, more interesting than some of the big chain hotels.

Need to check days on which food is available - so many other options nearby that didn't matter for us but if you like to eat in it was initially a bit confusing as to what was open when.

The hotel location is very good and close to the transport and visit hub of Circular Quay and a tram stop. Generally a very clean and well kept establishment. Restaurant and bar facilities available. The hotel staff were good and polite. The hotel buildings and other buildings in the area are historically interesting.

My sleep was disturbed at 11 pm and 5 am a couple of times due to rotating machinery or washing machines being used somewhere near my bedroom and making a noise. A piece of plastic trunking fallen to the floor before my stay was not replaced and was left lying on the furniture in the room.

Location is amazing for walking all around the Rocks area. Easy to walk to the ferries and trains at Circular Quay. Many restaurants closely, check the alleys. Weekend Rocks market is wonderful. Hotel restaurant is good, but there are lots around for all meals. Check out the free walking tours in the Rocks and at the Botanic Gardens.

Nothing really, but if you are coming from the airport train or ferry it is a bit uphill and over cobble stoned areas. Not easy for an older person. Starbucks accounts don't work here. You will need a new Aussie account if that is your go to.

Lovely big room with great view (could even see the opera house when there was no cruise ship in) - very comfortable and great sleep after our long flight and to relax after all our days out in Sydney. A really welcoming vibe and staff super friendly and helpful - decor great - a good use of an old building and its location was perfect for walking to restaurants and bars. Loved the eco-friendly incentive system where you could get money towards breakfast (or other things) in the cafe next door for not getting linen changed. Thanks for our stay!

Everything!!! The gentleman who welcomed us (had an accent?) well he beautifully surprised my son and put a congratulations card and champagne in our room with chocolates because the trip was for his graduation (& Coldplay). We had outstanding customer service from every single person in the hotel. Our waitress each morning at breakfast was amazing! (Her husband is a chef there too). The food was incredible! Breakfast was included and I highly recommend taking this option! Menu is outstanding and delicious. We tried something different each day. It saved us aoivh money choosing to include breakfast. We loved happy hour too! Drinks and food and price outstanding. Room was amazing. Clean. Perfect. Comfortable.

Great location in the vibrant Rocks neighborhood of Sydney. Provides a multitude of eating, drinking and shopping options. Close to ferries, the cruise terminal and the opera house. The hotel has historic character and modern amenities, including two restaurants. Our room was well appointed and spacious enough for a comfortable three-night stay.

Our first-floor room, 114, was a bit worn and, in places, dirty. On arrival, the grout and the ceiling in the shower were covered with mildew. At our request, these areas were cleaned. The carpet was worn and stained in places. It needs to be replaced.

Location was excellent. Close to the harbour. Not too far to the city. best place to be. The girl who tended the bar at night was very nice and friendly. But I think she has left now. The main man on the desk was not very approachable. Quite arrogant. When returned back the 2nd time after our cruise, he immediately with rudeness said we had no booking and there was no room. Apparently he could not find our reservation with just our surname. it just was handled rudely. I had said my full name but would not listen, ended up we were booked and we checked in. But saying that everyone else was just lovely. As we left our passports in the safe. Your other wonderful team mailed them too us and also contacted us twice to say they were safe and then mailed. We would gladly stay again as we have noticed on our many travels, those staff do not last long.

The shower in our second stay had black mould, but otherwise no complaints.
