Excellent location for getting to the Overseas Passenger terminal for cruising. The train is easy to catch straight from the airport to circular quay and from that station it’s a very short walk to the Hotel. Then it’s only a few minutes across the road to the Passenger Terminal to board the ship. No waiting for taxis or the cost of them, and no traffic to get through! The Rocks area is fabulous, and It’s in a great location for walking around the Rocks area with a lot of little pubs cafes and restaurants, pop up theatres weekend markets and so on or to the Opera house or the Sydney harbour bridge and Ferries , it’s close to the hop on hop off bus stop, and the Sydney busses, as well as the Ferries, water taxis etc. The room was clean and comfortable the beds and pillows comfortable and the buffet breakfast was also excellent. You have a control in the room to adjust the air conditioner to your preference. There is a rooftop pool to use with great views of the city. And Sydney harbour .. you can see the iconic Sydney harbour bridge and the opera house from here. The location and convenience really is everything!
Just a minor thing to be aware of … it’s an old Hotel, and The shower is over the bath which can be a bit tricky to get in and out of, especially for the elderly or people with disabilities. .. ( and in the two rooms we stayed in before and after our cruise the gloss was worn off the bath! )

Location, location , location. The view from the roof top area was perfect when there was not a cruise liner docked. The breakfast was included in our room rate so made use of it. It was a basic buffet, clean and fresh food. Not a huge selection but substantial for the price that we paid for our stay. The pool photos give a false idea, pool is not heated and the spa was not working. But if your like me and don’t mind a cold pool it’s perfect to cool off and take in the views. Don’t book this hotel if the pool is the reason alone, as it needs to be upgraded. The staff were very friendly. The room is small for four adults however if it’s a short stay it doesn’t really matter.
I already knew the bathroom was old and needed upgrading from reviews I had read prior to booking but I overlooked it as the location is perfect. The shower is in a small bathtub that is in desperate need of reglazing. Again if it’s a short stay it doesn’t really matter as the location is fab. The television didn’t work well as the sensor on the tv did not register the remote signal. We did get someone to come and try to fix it but it is an old remote and tv so that was how it functioned. So didn’t use the Tv at all for our stay. The carpet in the room is slightly damp so keep your shoes or flip flops on.

I have reviewed on our last May visit and I was pleasantly surprised to see your lobby bar opened with food menu. The lobby had lots of people sitting around enjoying their drinks & food BUT still no service on Sunday or Monday. The lobby then was dead. A hotel with that location should offer its guests 7 days bar & food. Did notice dinner now 3 evenings so that's an improvement. The TV is still an awful choice. Did really enjoy our room 403 with alittle harbour view and people walking around. Thats was great. We have stayed in your hotel since it was a Holiday Inn , so I notice the changes but more needs to be done to please everyone.!!! Thank you. G. Robinson Sandra Robinson wrote this review.

The location was amazing, right beside the opera house, Sydney harbour bridge, restaurants, shops, the ferry and the tram. The room had plenty of storage and amenities. We didn’t use the restaurant but I believe there was a good choice for breakfast. The rooftop pool was lovely for a dip at the end of the day. The hotel is a bit older and the layout of the floors are interesting with stairs on landings. If mobility or steps are an issue you might want to mention this when booking.
We were on a lower floor and we could hear some delivery trucks in the mornings. This is not necessarily the hotels fault. We left the air con on as a white noise and that worked well to drown out any other noises. I am a light sleeper so other people may not notice any noise. As we were on the third floor I would have liked to use the stairs rather than the lift, I couldn’t find the stairs though.

Location was great
There was no shade area at the pool and it was alot smaller in real life than from the photo . We ended up not swimming due to NO shade . That was disappointing as that is one of the reason’s we booked . Everything else was great . Was also frustrated as booked a long way in advance and on pick up you were offering rooms for $200 cheaper than what we booked . Understand prices fluctuating but don’t think I would book in advance again . Mentioned this at desk who were only offering us to pay more money to check in early . I think they should match a Cheaper rate if that’s what you are offering .

Liked their "Go Green" philosophy: no roomservice meant $10 discount on Breakfast, normal price $25. Breakfast was fine, plenty on offer. Friendly staff. The restaurant isn't very big, so on the odd occation all tables were taken. Never a long wait though. I didn't have dinner, so can't comment on that. Location is excellent. A wide selections of restaurants, cafes and bars on George street, pretty much next door. Mind you for those less mobile the location, The Rocks, means a bit of slopes to walk and / or climbing stairs.
My bathroom seemed a bit dated to me. Small bathtub, which you have to climb in to have a shower. Cloth curtain, bit old fashioned, however shower was fine. Towels, soaps and skin care product all there. Clean.

Coming from Geelong (Victoria), it was amazing to be around the Sydney Harbour (including the Bridge & Opera House). Being close to the ‘Carnival’ cruise to get on the next day-made the experience so stress free
The whole experience was spectacular

The position is amazing. To be able to walk down to Circular Quay with ease is a massive plus. The price for a family of 4 was great. The beds were comfortable, the pool a good option for the kids a few times and the laundry handy. The building has a heritage vibe that sits well in the middle of The Rocks. We had an excellent stay.
An improvement could be to have a space with a couple of microwaves for guests to access. Out of your control is the noise from the pub over the road - it was only an issue on the Friday and Saturday nights, otherwise no noise concerns.

Fantastic location and fabulous views from pool deck, as long as there isn’t a cruise ship parked up at dock, like on our 2nd day stay
Triple sheet bedding!!!!! Yuk !!! The sheets were clean, but the doona did have stains so removed it off our bed. It was hot enough to sleep under just sheets. People whilst sleeping wrap legs around doona and sheets do not cover whole doona People do have sex in hotels, so stains are not a pretty sight!! As a person who runs their own Airbnb business, I take pride in changing all doona covers after each guest, so that the hygiene is at top noche level. Your staff was nice, but some at the reception could have some smile classes when guests arrive . In saying the above, we did enjoy our stay, thank you very much
