Room looked newly refurbished. Very comfortable bed and very good pillows.. The heating had been put on as it was a cold day so room lovely and warm. Lovely view of river from the lovely window seat. Breakfast was amazing. Choice of cooked or continental or both. Good quality food, excellent sized portions, served freshly cooked and quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful especially the young lady who worked in the breakfast room, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is used by a number of contractors but this was not detrimental to our stay in any way. .

There was a low humming noise, which being a poor sleepers was more noticeable to me during the night but for a normal sleeper, like my husband, you wouldn't notice it. It would have been nice if restaurant and bar had been open but unfortunately they were closed. A note of apology was on show. The interior was excellent, the exterior and grounds were a little "tired"

the hotel was easy to find, discreetly located, with a beautiful outlook. Parking was easy. the grounds were beautiful, I would like to give a special mention to both Shawn and Akshasa who were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for them, they were both a asset to the hotel, in building guest staff relationships. I have stayed in 5 star hotels where the staff were not as good as these two. breakfast was also very nice

The hotel is being upgraded and i used to be in building management, some areas are tired the decking needs to be up graded to composite from the existing wood. there are a few discreet piles of rubbish that need clearing up, the bar and restaurant were under modernization and not open but the local pub which serves excellent food was a 50 yard walk. For consideration, access from the grounds onto the canal tow path should be made available

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Wonderful hosts who could not do enough for us. Very interesting old mill and the clear river ran right past our window

Restaurant was being refurbished but wonderful pub right across the road which I have no doubt cost us more as their menu was too good! Sadly, the neighbouring room decided to ‘party’ til 1.30 am and awoke loudly at just gone 4am to ready themselves to leave. I knocked on the door at that time and they were apologetic but the damage was done. Meanwhile my hard of hearing husband snored away! This was in no way the fault of the hotel staff and they were horrified. Superb staff.

We were welcomed into reception by Shawn. He was polite and smart. He explained about parking facilities, breakfast and also told us about two pubs just across the road from the hotel. My wife has recently had a full knee replacement so Shawn changed our first floor room to a ground floor room. The room was clean and of a reasonable size. The bed was very large and looked so inviting. We booked breakfast at the hotel which turned out to be a great move. The breakfast was lovely. Perfect poached eggs, lovely crunchy hash browns and accompanied by bacon, sausages, mushrooms, beans and half a fried tomato. The waitress was very nice and attended to our every need. There was also fruit, cereals, yoghurts and pastries available for breakfast.

Everything was to our satisfaction.

Comfortable, clean room, great view overlooking the river..plenty of parking spaces. Delicious breakfast, being offered choice of food. Great omelette, which is rarely offered at hotels. Very friendly, professional staff who were only too happy to help. We had the pleasure of meeting Shawn and Askanana ( hope i have spelt that correctly) who were outstanding in their customer service. Thank you, you made us feel so comfortable.

The bar and restaurant were temporaraly closed..it would have been nice to have tried them during our stay..

This hotel is conveniently situated for Bovingdon TV Studios. We recieved a warm welcome from the staff. There is plenty of parking and good wi fi. A cooked breakfast was offered in addition to the continental breakfast. There are two pubs across the road from the hotel for drinks/meals, which could be useful. 🙂

Stains on the carpet, these need sorting properly. ☹ Sadly no bar or restaurant/room service. In fairness, we knew this before we booked. This definitely contributed to a lack of atmosphere, which is a shame as the staff are doing what they can.

Perfect location if you want to stay far from crowded town. It's really quiet area with canals. It's about 31 minutes walk from a Train station so if you planning to visit London it's can take you another 30 minutes. We arrived around 11 pm so staff let us to use a car park early so we could catch a train to London.

I feel like people will appreciate more vege option of breakfast as not everyone eat full English breakfast. I don't eat meat so Shawn offered me more eggs then normally. It was still a good breakfast.

The location was perfect for my bike ride along the Grand Union Canal. The guys at reception were outstanding. Helpful from my initial enquiry to when I left. Helped me find a ground floor room. Helped me with my bike. Served my breakfast and filled my coffee flask. It’s very rare you find staff who put themselves out so much. These guys should be commended. Truly excellent service.

The rooms are tired. But I appreciate you are going through a refurbishment process. The wet room in my bedroom had a drainage issue.

When we arrived we were greeted by the receptionist Ali (sorry if spelt wrong) He was lovely and so helpful, he carried my bag to the room. He was very chatty and friendly, a lovely friendly face was a great start to our stay. It was lovely and we were fortunate enough for it to snow whilst we were there so when we woke up We had a beautiful view of the river with the snow set too. Would 100 percent stay again.

Restaurant and bar not available, but this wasn't really an issue as there is a fabulous pub immediately across the road and another good pub next to it
