Absolutely amazing. The Inn is gorgeous and cozy, the rooms designed beautifully and all the small extras made me feel so comfortable and happy. Sweets under glass and a welcome note in my room, soft music on the radio by the bed, and a lovely bathroom and shower. The bar and restaurant served up delicious drinks, as well as a full English breakfast included in the room cost that was delicious. Staff were very gracious and kind, and the location is in the center of town. Easy to get to from the train station by bus or walking. I wish I had more time to stay and enjoy the vineyards and art as well. Will certainly be back for a longer stay. An absolute gem.

Newly refurbished rooms, comfortable bed and big shower. Radio in the bedroom as well as a TV. Fresh milk provided for hot drinks and some beautiful little sweet treats on arrival. The staff were helpful when approached and remembered to smile.

Parking quite limited and access to the courtyard sometimes blocked so dropping off with luggage can be a challenge at times. Perhaps it was staffing over Christmas but the ‘hot’ breakfast was served on a cold plate one morning and seemed to have been sitting around for a while before serving so was cold. The streaky bacon was not crispy and seemed more fat than meat on one morning but on other mornings these things were ok.

Unfortunately we were woken up both mornings, we stayed two nights, 7am for the alarm. First morning fore alarm went off in the property and second morning somewhere behind the property. The second one obviously was not related to the White Horse but taking a break for two days to relax and recharge this was really inconvenient. No apology or even mention about the fire alarm when we finally got out of the bed and went to buy coffee from the restaurant as we missed the breakfast due to being woken up 7am and then trying to catch up with sleep…

Lovely clean and spacious room.

Some slight changes this time. The breakfast has changed and the continental options aren't laid out in the restaurant for you to choose from. You now have to select one from the menu along with one option of juice. There's no free access to water etc. No toast offered... Service charges are automatically applied when ordering food from the bar, and you need to be aware of this. The 2 for 1 drinks between 5pm and 7pm were available for 1 night but not the next 2 nights. You get the nice sweet treats in your room on the first night but nothing after that, no biscuits etc.

The room we had was lovely, really clean with great bathing facilities. Our dog was well provided for (though note you need to bring your own dog food),and we were left some delicious treats ourselves on arrival. We also had dinner in the restaurant and the food was great delicious, good value for money and decent portion sizes.

The car parking is very limited which is a bit of a pain although there are other car parks close by. Unfortunately, although delicious, both our breakfasts were rather lukewarm which was a shame. Staff were apologetic and gave us free hot drinks to compensate which was nice but obviously we would rather have had our food be hot.

Cute and quirky historic building with a gorgeous interior. Really cosy vibe and our room was stunning - we had multiple complementary perks such as a mini pillow spray, ear plugs, sweet treats, tea/coffee and bottled water in the mini fridge. Even a personalised written note wishing us a lovely stay. I like that you could connect your phone to the TV to watch Netflix etc, and the bed and linens were super comfy (one of the best nights’ sleep I’ve ever had). Dinner and breakfast was also delicious, the pistachio soufflé was to die for. Staff were very welcoming and friendly at check in, dinner and breakfast. We didn’t have to interact with staff upon check out as there was a little basket to leave our room key at the desk. A 5* experience, I can’t wait to come back!

If I was to nitpick fine details, it would be that there was a small stain on the duvet noticed by my partner, and that the radiator in the room didn’t work so it did get a little cold at times. However, there were 2 heaters provided within the wardrobe (1 didn’t work but the other did) so we were able to warm up quite quickly!

Large pleasantly and recently refurbished historic inn, centrally and very conveniently situated. Subdued lighting giving an atmospheric feel in the main areas and bedrooms. Very comfortable bed with quality bedding and excellent room furnishings.

As the hotel is centrallly located in the town outside road noise is noticeable during the day and evening but thankfully relatively quiet overnight. Heating in bedroom not easily manageable so ended up opening windows to cool the room making road noise intrusive as a consequence..Parking v. limited on site and on street but public car parks in the vicinity..

Loved this place! The decor was absolutely amazing in the rooms, corridors, and in the pub area, and it was all immaculate. Lovely little extras in the room which made it extra special too. The town itself at first glance looked a little drab, but on further inspection there was some really interesting little shops and eateries that we spent the whole morning wandering around. Box hill wasn't very far away and was totally worth the visit. All in I totally recommend for a nice little weekend break

We ate one evening and had the crab which was delicious, but the only thing I would suggest is perhaps serve with some really nice soft white bread and more salad instead of chips

The room and the experience were very nicely and thoughtfully put together, which was noticeable and added something to the overall experience. It was nice to stay in such an old building and experience something in-keeping with the vibes in Dorking and I think they done a good job of building on those vibes.

Tiny detail, but there were no bright lights. I like the gentler light for most things, but sometimes you need more light to do things. Maybe they could just put a standing lamp in the corner with a brighter bulb. Could maybe fix the window so that it closes, but there was a very effective heater provided in the room. I understand that in such an old building repairs may be complicated. Tiny details though, did not diminish a very positive experience.

Really loved everything about this hotel. The check in process was smooth and friendly. I had a room at the back of the property which was lovely and quiet. The room itself was absolutely stunning with beautiful fixtures and lovely personal touches such as earplugs and sweet treats. The facilities were great the room had everything you could need, fan, ironing board, tv, fridge and even a little 50s style radio. It was spotlessly clean and a really lovely place to spend some time. I almost didn’t want to go out for the evening :-) I ate a small meal in the bar area on the evening of my stay which was enjoyable and very good quality and breakfast was also lovely. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again if in the area.
