Nice room for the price. Only booked a small room (there was space for a desk and chair) as we were visiting family and not using the hotel facilities (no breakfast/dinner) Comfy bed and spotlessly clean toilet, sink and shower in the bathroom which was definitely bijou!

The slightly dodgy TV - we thought it was going to fall off the wall when we tried to move it out of its box to watch. Quickly resolved though when we mentioned it on Saturday morning so well done to the Hotel. Bathroom was cold and the heated towel rail wasn't working. Secondary glazing in the bathroom. Blind not easily accessible and the pull cord was broken but window was private so no need to use it. The whole window area and secondary glazing was in need of a good clean

We travelled from Devon to attend my husbands Dad's funeral and to help sort out some of his affairs, so this five day visit was not one we were particularly looking forward to. The hotel is a lovely building, everywhere was very clean and well cared for and the food was beautiful.. The best part of the stay was without doubt the lovely staff...they were excellent in all aspects of their work, they really came across as a family of very happy employees who enjoyed their work and they all went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay which made the time away a really nice experience.....Thanks guys. Excellent stay! Loved the hotel, its grounds, and the relaxed feel of the place. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room we had was traditional, with a good ensuite, and all was beautifully clean. The countryside location of the hotel, and the morning view we had from our bedroom window of the roaming deer, couldn't have been bettered. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

The food was generally of a good standard.....aside from the side caesar sald which had about 10x too much dressing on it! More dressing than salad to be honest. Our room quality was very good but it was dying for a small table and two chairs to be placed next to the window so you could make the most of the view!

Nice surroundings . Lovely interior of hotel and room very nice . Bed was so comfortable also. Lots of tea & coffee. Staff very friendly. The people staying there seemed very nice too.

Couldn’t get a sandwich or snack late evening when returned from the wedding we attended.. And hotel is in the middle of nowhere so can’t pop to the shop to get anything . Also if you book through booking .com you can’t request early check in which would have been helpful. Almost impossible to contact them on the phone even though they say telephone with any questions! You get asked to leave a message & someone will contact you but it doesn’t happen . Did this about 4 times . Spoke to Noelle finally after choosing the option that I shouldn’t have but literally had no choice ….and she was very helpful.

Considering how close it is to Gatwick, the hotel is in a very pleasant country location, and it's a really nice building with very good public spaces. The room (the "cosy small double") was surprisingly spacious and nicely decorated, and everything worked well. Breakfast was great and in a very nice location. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

It would be good to have fewer pre-packaged items at breakfast, cereal in little packets and butter/jam prepacks are creating a lot of unnecessary waste. And although the linen is nice, bedding and pillows themselves are quite synthetic and rather sweaty. Because it's near Gatwick, there's a risk that someone will wheel their suitcases past your room at 5.30 am, talking loudly...

Beautiful old building with nicely sized and furnished rooms

It’s strangely dark inside as the bar and entrance have no internal windows. The two women on the desk are not particularly welcoming and sit huddled together studying their screens, murmuring to each other as they look for your booking which gives you the impression that something might be wrong. Just getting up and smiling would go a long way! The bar staff by contrast were really friendly and chatty.

Staff were friendly and very helpful, Rooms although basic were very functional and relativly clean. Food in restraunt was very good and service excellent, although the layout was very corporate and lacked any atmosphere.

The shower was grubby with quite a bit of mould. On booking we requested rooms at the back of the hotel and this was clearly ignored and our request was not even answered. instead we were placed right over the main entrance, so heard all the comings and goings through the night. For this reason, we would not stay again,

Perfect quiet countryside location only 10 mins from Gatwick Airport

We loved this elegant, beautifully decorated hotel. Our rooms were all light and spacious and ours (I had made the booking) was upgraded. The food was superb, both for dinner and breakfast. There was a lot of variety to suit all tastes. (Our party included vegetarians and vegans.) The staff went out of their way to be helpful: we were a party of 11 having a family reunion and it was wonderful to be served dinner in a private room, at a round table, which made conversation so much easier. Our visit coincided with a wedding, but when we wished to go outside, tables and chairs were removed for us from the terrace on to a large grassy area, which was ideal for the boys of 11 and 14 (and adults too!) to play football and badminton. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, not even packing up a special pillow for collection that had been inadvertently left behind. It was a wonderful stay.

Comfortable stay the young lady on reception was outstanding at answering all our questions and ensuring we had everything we need. Breakfast is very good but get there early as after 9am it get a bit tired and lacks some items being a buffet style breakfast

We were in the ground floor and the plumbing above was noisy particularly when the above room was showering. My daughter needed a disabled room which was provided but the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and it was very dusty (probably because it is rarely used).
