I had very little expectations due to the very good price which even included the breakfast in my case. I only arrived in the evening from the Airport and left the next day. But I was surprised by many things in this Hotel. The warm welcome of the night audit/young receptionist. (sorry forgot his name but he was very nice.) The Hotel itself which immediately took me back in time where these nice small hotels where our summer vacation place in the childhood. It was very clean everywhere, furniture & building was very well maintained and taken care of. You could see one is proud of this property and the people proud working there. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💚 You get to the upper floor by stairs or (which was important to me due to injury) by elevator. The Elevator seamed pretty new and also clean. My room was spacious and had a small balcony looking out to the back gardens/terrace of the Hotel which was very nice and quite. I had a mini fridge and a good size bathroom with walk in shower which was super clean as well. (I am looking everywhere and I am prepared to disinfect rooms myself if needed.) This was very nice and no need for me to do any work.🙏🏻 Big Closet with a safe and a desk as well as Suitcase rack and AC which worked perfectly. The hotel has covered parking, a nice pool and is only s a few minutes away from the beachwalk. Breakfast next morning was more than one can eat. Good selection of everything and was constantly refilled. A very nice surprise was also the lady at Front Desk Mercedes (not sure if she was the hotel manager) which was actually waiting for me in the morning as I said I am an early swimmer and this pool would normally only open at 9am...but she made sure I could swim early!💚 She was also most attentive and helpful with contacts to local agents for renting & buying a property as I asked her if she knows anyone. We had a long chat and I had the feeling knowing her forever! Unbelievable nice! THANK you for this pleasant stay!

Nothing to complain about. I will definitely come back. The reason why I am writing this review in english is that there were more lovely english guests. I didnt meet any germans actually. But nationality is never a criteria for me to choose a hotel.

Breakfast was very good—a selection of cold cuts plus some sausages and eggs. The staff helping there was terrific. Our flight out was very early, so we had to take a taxi (arranged by the hotel too - not much more expensive than Uber). The concern was breakfast, but they offered to prepare breakfast for 4 AM for us (we actually picked the hour). Was a short stay, but everything worked (including AC which was very helpful on those hot days).

Coffee could be better.

The staff were friendly, helpful and polite nothing was too much trouble there was always a genuine smile. The room was clean, well maintained with a safe and fridge. Swimming pool open from early until 20:00 with bar & restaurant services. Breakfast had a huge selection with English Breakfast available unfortunately the food wasn’t hot but I did arrive toward the end of service which may have impacted this.

The restaurant serves basic snack/food the bar staff also cook the meals which puts them under pressure to maintain bar & restaurant services without a delay to one or the other. I arrived late at night there was no complementary water in the room or a small snack however there is a fridge in reception where basics can be purchased.

Great helpful and friendly staff. Very clean, organized and well run hotel. And one could tell quick its popular and nice, since so many guests were returning and knew eachother for years from their stays there (not from home). Nice peaceful location 2min walk from the beach and close to centrum. So you have silent nights but yet close to everything. Comfy soft bed, which is rare in Spain, but the 70cm wide/long firm spanish pillows, so bring/buy a regular "rest of the world standard" rectangular one at local ikea for peanut money and optimal sleep.

Nothing really comes to mind. Smart tv wasnt smart, couldnt stream from my phone and only local channels, but good wifi so watched on my phone instead, no big deal and its not meant to be there to waste time on the tv/phone anyways. To be very picky, but its everywere in Spain - the typical long/wide 70cm spanish firm pillows and omelett/scrambled eggs always so very well done its as dry as müsli. But its standard everywere on every hotel from budget to luxury, from San Sebastian in north to Gibraltar in South.

Arcos de Montemar is a lovely small hotel - a 10min walk from Montemar train station (downhill). Five minutes walk to La Carihuela beach. Bus stop just outside the hotel. Super friendly staff make for a very relaxing stay! Quiet aircon, bar fridge in the room, ask at reception for a kettle. Lovely pool area, comfy sun loungers. Would highly recommend Arcos for a relaxing stay in a well run and very friendly small hotel!

We had two rooms, one facing the front of the hotel which was a bit noisy during the day as there is a road running past the front of the hotel. However, traffic dies down almost completely at night so very quiet for a good night's sleep. The other room faced a courtyard with water feature to the rear, very quiet and peaceful, my favourite

Everything was fabulous. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was firm but comfortable. The pool area was great and never crowded. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Proper sausages too.! All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Bus stops outside the hotel for Malaga and Fuengirola. Aldi next door to the hotel snacks. Lots of lovely restaurants of all food styles with easy walking distance. Lots to do in the area, would recommend the Caminito del Rey and the Teleférico cable car up Mt Calamorro.

I arrived very late on the first day and was allocated room 7 It really shouldn’t be classed as a room as it doesn’t fit with the quality of the rest of the hotel. It’s very dark, the only window looks on to an internal wall. They moved me the next morning so all was good. Having this room could make or break your holiday. They would be better turning it into storage room.

This was a absolutely fantastic find. The hotel was small which made the service very personal. all the staff were amazingly helpful, friendly and always took their time to give personal attention to your needs. Very clean and great breakfast. Vacated room at 12 and was able to get fresh towels and a shower before leaving later that day. Location was great and handy for beach restaurants and bus route.

There is not much I can say that I didn't like. The only issue was towels left on loungers all day and not being used. It is a small pool and sun bathing area and on a busy day, was difficult to get a bed. Not the hotels fault at all.

We have stayed here 4 times now and it is almost faultless. We really enjoy their breakfast but could be hotter. This year we were on the top floor (3rd) and we had quite a lot of ants in our room,and I mean everywhere not just balcony,they were on the walls,bathroom,around the toaster at breakfast and I even woke up twice with one on my face. Saying this the place is fantastic. It’s just maybe something they could look at. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Just the issue with the ants. Maybe something could be put down to prevent this.

We have just returned home from our 6 night stay in this wonderful hotel. It was our first time staying and didn’t know what to expect. But we had a lovely relaxing holiday. There was a great selection of food at breakfast no matter what time you went for it. The staff are so helpful and friendly, from giving directions to serving your food and drinks. There was a happy hour from 6 to 7 where you got 2 drinks for the price of 1. There is also a bar menu with lots of snacks on it. We stayed in room 107 on the first floor. It had a lovely view and was exceptionally clean. We asked Paul at reception for a late checkout and even though the hotel was fully booked he accommodated us. We can’t wait to visit this hotel again hopefully in September. Thank you for looking after us.

Nothing. Everything was perfect

This hotel is very welcoming and the staff are exceptionally helpful (Raquel in particular on reception). The breakfasts are very good with plenty of choice to suit all tastes - not English bacon, though! Bedroom at the rear was very quiet and the bed very comfortable, couldn't ask for more.

We are quite elderly, and the walk down to the front is not short. Unless you eat at the hotel (they have a limited but reasonable menu, served all day and evening) you have to make your way down to the beach area. OK on a fine day, but not so much if it rains, as it did on one of our days, and all day! Only one other comment on what could be improved - the internet was very slow indeed. In 2024 it ought to be better.
