Room was spacious overall, clean and cosy. Separate bath and shower was nice and they were both sparkling clean. Heating was on when I stayed and could be controlled via the dial on the radiator and warmed up the room nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful.

If you returned to the hotel late you had to let yourself in via the key safe (no staff overnight) which I was told how to use. When I did need to use this on one of the evenings I returned to find the key safe open and the front door of the hotel unlocked, which me me feel really insecure. Having said this, it must have been one of the other guests that had done this so I'm not sure how you would prevent it.

On the day I checked-in we had a "burger night" with a very good choice of beef, pork, chicken and fish burgers. All the staff were great and special thanks to the chef. Great deal 2 for £15 worked out well. Nice, quiet outside area where you can chill out. Enjoyed continental breakfast the next morning, along with a juice. The room was very spacious, bed felt comfortable and as a result I had a lovely night. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who plans a visit in the area. This was my 2nd stay and I will 100% come back, the next time I am down in Nottinghamshire.

I have nothing to report on this matter, simply enjoyed my stay there and really, I could not think of anything that did not seem right. All I can say is to try the place and get the feel of it. You will 100% enjoy it.

We stayed here to attend a family funeral for 2 night. In room 5. Clean and spacious with all we needed. (Kettle, coffee, tee etc) loved having a bath. Bed very comfortable and slept great.Didn't eat at the property, only breakfast (meals looked good though) as we were meeting up with family. Continental breakfast was great 👍 with lots of extras, which we were surprised about as normally its a cooked breakfast when we stay somewhere, but Continental was fab.

No fault of this hotel but getting a taxi in this area was horrendous, tried 6 taxi numbers with no joy. Staff at hotel finally got one booked for us to arrive at 2pm, 2.40pm and no taxi appeared. We were going to a funeral and panicked as we would have been late. Thankfully a lovely young man from the funeral came for us. Thank the lord 🙏 Be aware of this when you stay and be organised before you go. As I said, no reflection on the hotel .

Comfortable room and bed. On site restaurant was excellent. We had a number of very tasty, well cooked meals which were very good value for money. Friendly staff. Good position to visit Lincoln, Derby and Nottingham. Very clean accommodation.

We were given an accessible room (not at our request) but unfortunately could clearly hear the conversations of the people in next door room through the interconnecting door. Not keen on the wetroom.

Good location, plenty of parking. Lovely room comfortable beds and big shower. Requested a dog friendly room so access was immediately from the car park which was ideal. Breakfast was continental but a good choice, cereals, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurts, bread and pastries. Tea/coffee, orange juice etc The staff were all very friendly and helpful

My only negative if I had to be picky would be the food choice for allergies. It would have been to have some gluten free pastries.

The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. The breakfast had a good selection. Staff were friendly.

The room was stiflingly hot (hot Summer's day which doesn’t happen often in this country so it's probably not normally a problem). I had the window open which meant more traffic noise, but in order for the breeze to come through I needed the curtains open, which meant light from the lamps outside. Luckily I brought an eye mask with me.

Traveled to stay here for a family funeral. Staff were lovely and we all loved the continental breakfast with loads to choose from. Rooms were basic but clean. And for what we payed I believe good value

Nothing to do with the hotel but the taxi service in this area is shocking. Thanks to our family and friends with cars we were sorted quickly, but as we were there for a family funeral it could have been disastrous, as taxis that you can get on phone just don't turn up.

Check in was quick. We got parked outside of our room.Room was clean bed comfortable and very quiet at nightime 😁 Continental breakfast was very nice.

The only thing we did not like was the menu we only wanted a simple bar meal but we were not allowed to eat of the bar menu in restaurant and the bar was too noisy to enjoy a meal. If U stay there on a Wednesday you are spoilt for choice for food as they have menus catered for Wednesdays more than any other day.

The location was perfect for visiting the area. The pub was cozy and very friendly atmosphere, staff are exceptional and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. A limited choice of traditional pub food was available in the evening but was exceptionally tasty. Continental Breakfast was included in the price and there was a good selection on the menu. Comfy beds and good facilities.

Some of the grouting both on the floor and tiles in the bathroom need some attention and the addition of a second chair would be beneficial for a two person room but does not detract from your stay.

Wonderful location (well worth a stroll around the village). Very nice Pub/Hotel that has been modernised to create a contemporary bar area and restaurant. Some rooms were internal to the main building and a number were situated on a purpose built extension individual with rooms accessible from the car park. Rooms were simple, clean and tidy with a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits...Perfect for our needs. Staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We didn't have opportunity to try the restaurant during our stay (but heard excellent reports from other guests). Self-serve continental style breakfast was enjoyable with a reasonable selection of cereals, fruits, toast, meats and cheeses.

This is just a very minor point and didn't affect our stay but...I felt it was a shame to see some small areas in our room requiring a little TLC. (Woodwork was a little shabby and an old coffee stain on the wall). Simple and cheap fixes that would improve the overall experience in my opinion. There has clearly been significant investment in the Maypole at Wellow to create a high quality feel to the establishment, it seems right that the rooms also embody a high quality feel.
