This an exceptional hotel & our second time staying. Our first visit was our honeymoon, 11 years ago, and it was amazing then, but they’ve developed the hotel even further, so our experience was even more incredible. Their attention to detail is everything!! From little gifts left in our room, to cleaning & preparing the room twice a day (we even had hot water bottles placed in our beds when we arrived after dinner with fresh lavender on our pillows). The food is Michelin star quality and the view over the ocean is breathtaking. The staff is helpful, friendly and kind, always ready to assist with a smile. Beach walks are accessible from the hotel & the pool is heated, so comfortable for a quick swim when the ocean is too cold. We also had a couples massage which was skill-fully & professionally done with essential oils in a beautiful calm & relaxing space. We highly recommend this hotel & cannot wait to visit again one day!!

Very comfortable room . Eaten for my birthday for last 4 years at lunchtime excellent views ,this time decided to stay at hotel same table but no view as no outside lighting. We were finishing our dessert and lights turned off in restaurant, music also and tables cleared around us it was only 21:30. Not romantic at night better at lunchtime. This is not 5 * but still a nice hotel and my favourite restaurant for view and ambience at lunchtime but the evening meal spoiled my birthday meal . There was definitely no recognition of my special occasion.

For above reasons

This was our third visit to Strandloper as it is such a lovely hotel in a stunning location. I booked too late and could only get an ‘internal’ room with no view but it had a lovely outdoor area with a plunge pool including a waterfall and a table and comfortable chairs, it was also very private so I loved it. The outdoor swimming pool was just across from our room and had nice loungers and sun shades. The restaurant is really exceptional and has a lovely ambiance, I would have stayed at least a week but they were fully booked, so make sure you book early if you want to stay in this lovely hotel.

Absolutely nothing

In desperate need to make our wedding anniversary special and wanting to visit the west Coast of South Africa agin after many years, I decided to book a couple of nice at this very good Boutique hotel. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I made in a while. This place was very well placed and the restaurant and rooms very stylishly decorated. We were also greeted with some MCC and flowers in the room because I mentioned that it was a special occasion. The food was absolutely amazing! Breakfast was very well served with lots of fresh options and another bottle of MCC on our first mornings' breakfast. For dinner I had hake the first evening and the seafood linguini the last evening.....both extremely tasty and can recommend to all. My wige had the Chalmar steak and she could not stop smiling. The staff was probably the best part of the stay. They were all very friendly and attentive to our needs, from managers to bartender to waitresses. Well done Strandloper. We will be back. Nothing to disapprove of.

This place is a little haven in a remote small town. The staff were a delight from start to finish. We had the best room in the house for the first two nights (king ocean suite, room 1, top floor) and it was fantastic. Amazing views, great design, exceptionally comfortable. We moved to the worst room in the house ( courtyard room, no view) for our final night but it had the same level of comfort and was very private. The food was delicious, every meal was exceptional. We stayed over Christmas and there were lots of nice touches to make it extra special. It’s not cheap, but we’d just got engaged and was so worth it. Not sure I’d return to paternoster, but if I did, I’d stay here.

Pool was a bit characterless, but we didn’t use it. Shame about the incessant wind, but that’s the location, not the property.

The location is spectacular with pristine beaches. The breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from. Both the evening meals we ate at the hotel were super tasty and beautifully presented. The extra touches provided by the hotel made us feel very special (bed turn down with lavender sprigs on the pillow, complimentary treats, candles, hot water bottle, etc). The staff were all wonderfully friendly and helpful! The pool area is peaceful and a lovely place to relax as are the seating areas overlooking the beach and sea.

Location; the staff and food were amazing!

We booked 3 nights. We had two different roomtypes. Web booked 1 night Ocean King Suite. They upgraded us for second night which was very nice. The last night we had a beach villa which was not renovated. The view was amazing but room could use some improvement. All together we had a great stay. Best place when in Paternoster.

The room was absolutely beautiful and exquisite, with a great view and direct access to a quiet beach. The focus on detail was immaculate, along with the most high-end amenities in the room. Dining at Leeto was a lovely experience - dinner and breakfast truly was like a symphony. We visited Strandloper for our wedding anniversary and the team went through so much trouble to decorate our room with rose petals and a bottle of champagne to share after dinner.

Wish we stayed longer than just one day.

I loved the location and the beachfront bungalow The service is excellent I loved the fire in the room at night, the hot water bottle in the bed, the milk in the fridge. Plus the restaurant is outstanding (both for breakfast and for dinner)

There is no clear information in the room on what is complimentary and what is charged as minibar And in fact there is no price list for the minibar and goodies.

We had a courtyard room and it was lovely, spacious and clean. Shower was incredible, with open door to the court yard. Bed was extremely comfortable. There is coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast was perfect - lots of choices. Views were stunning. Staff were all very friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home. We had a couples massage which was amazing. Pool area was relaxing and quiet.
