We stayed in a beautiful room that was converted from stables - very modern, and beautifully done. Loved that they kept some of the traditional features as well. Good wifi reception, parking close by and we found the staff all super friendly and helpful. Would also highly recommend the food ! Super clean and we checked in during a heat wave and was happy to come in to an already cool room as they had popped the aircon on for us prior to arriving. Comfiest bed and couches I think we have ever had at a place too! Wish they had the availability for us to have stayed longer. Highly recommend.
Nothing that was within the properties control ! Bit hash for some reviews to be negative because of the noise the people staying on the top floor made - we knew people were up there but thought it’s very well sound proofed.

The hotel was conveniently located along the beautiful Richmond Main Street and is very suitable as a gateway for exploring the neighbourhood. The rooms were of reasonable size and the small apartment was good for our family of four.
The apartment was at first floor. As there was no elevator, heavy luggages had to be hauled up and down the stairs which could be challenging for senior folks. Air-conditioning was through a ceiling cassette unit at the living room with no heating or bed warmers in the bedrooms. We had to keep the doors open so that the rooms were not too cold at night.

such a cute little unit right smack bam in the middle of Richmond. a very generous supply of linen and comfortable beds. We are in the restaurant and the meals were generous and tasty. No wonder it was so busy on a Monday night. Would definitely recommend😃
The only draw back was this was a bottom unit and we could hear the upstairs guests moving about, it wasn’t an issue for us but could be if other guests weren’t considerate in the night.

Location was excellent. We had dinner at the pub and it was excellent. Breakfast wasn't an option during our stay. We experienced a bit of a problem with the air con while we were there, but as the weather was not overly hot it didn't affect our comfort or our stay.
We thought the accommodation was great and although it is part of the hotel, the unit must be well insulated as we stayed new years eve and they had a great live band in the hotel but the noise didn't carry over into our unit when we went back to sleep.

The Richmond Arms is a charming hotel right in the middle of a charming town. Our accomodation was out the back in The Stables: which have been renovated and are very modern and comfortable. The pub itself has a ‘genuine’ old pub atmosphere: old wood and ornaments, but with typical pub furnishings. We arrived on a Sunday to find the pub very busy and the staff, although friendly were rushed off their feet. The Monday was a very different experience, relaxed. We enjoyed our dinners here, which were hearty and reasonably priced.
The only annoyance for us was the noise of the Sunday crowds, which is unavoidable.

Great location, great accommodation , great value and central location to Hobart and the south east of Tasmania.
Lounge and chair needs a steam clean. Nowhere to put your clothes or hang up your towels in the bathroom. A microwave oven would have been handy. The 4 units in the stable are not defined on the website so you can end up with any of them. Some are not as nice as nice as the others. You may not get the apartment in the picture when you book. That was the case with my booking. They did rectify it for us luckily when we arrived.

No complaints - stayed here 38 years previously! Ideal location for exploring this part of Tasmania. My room was large and had a really comfortable bed. Though there was a pub downstairs, no noise wafted up to the room. The room was pretty basic, but it did have a TV. Bathroom area was spotless and very roomy. Car parking was on the grounds.
Nothing.

After arriving in Hobart we wanted to travel a short distance from the Airport for our first night then set off the next day to Queenstown to see the West Coast. We were also able to visit Pooley wines just 2 minutes from Richmond Arms Hotel. Richmond Arms serve Devonshire teas and have a good Food Menu.
We stayed in the “ Stables” and our room was called the Convict room. Because of the shape of the roof ( upside down V shape) the walls were at an angle. This may not suit a tall person due to height issues.

Stayed in the Convict room at the front of the converted barn/shed in the loft. The room is modern. You have your own facilities, not sharing like some of the other rooms. Walking distance to most of the tourist attractions in town. Had dinner in the pub food good and staff friendly. Did have a pick-up of the glass bottles and a couple of early deliveries, but it is a working pub, so you have to accept some noise. N

Very friendly staff that I talked to on the phone, helped us with late check-in instructions. Apart from that we did not meet anyone, but they were really good.
The floor in the hallway upstairs was very creaky. Didn't wake me up, but I was a bit worried of it bothering people in other rooms. Not that big of a deal though.
