Kind and courteous front-desk staff. Quiet location. Superb view from the rear, including a comfortable viewing yard area that includes seating, a gas firepit, and a sauna with a view.

Check-in process was not seamless (a text message with room code was not successfully texted to my phone), however on-site staff happened to be available upon arrival and handled check-in professionally and courteously.

Staff was very friendly and let us in earlier than check in time. The view and back patio was amazing, amazing territory. Location is convenient to explore all nearby mountains and hiking trails. Room was clean, I liked the cedar walls, like a village style a bit. We had coffee machine and a few packs of tea, which was nice.

It can be noisy if someone is arriving, you can hear the car and conversations. I guess when it’s crowded it can be uncomfortable.

Clean and comfortable; beautiful green surroundings in a convenient off-highway location. Reminiscent of old school motels with quiet and simple amenities. Cotton sheets-deluxe! I like when the sink is separated from the shower and toilet so two people can access at the same time.

Dog friendly is okay but I don’t have a dog so seeing them in the fenced area off leash made that area sort of off limits for me.

The Early Blue Motel was SO cute - a throwback to the old roadside motels that offered fun and convenient stays during road trips. The facility has been nicely renovated (still in process) and the view is AMAZING! So lovely that the proprietors have made an outdoor "lounge" for enjoying the view - with tables, comfortable seating, a fire pit, and attractive lighting. Pet-friendly and really fun! Would definitely recommend.

The view was absolutely spectacular. The room itself is quite cozy and can easily change temperatures in a flash. The motel is also family owned! They called me to let me know how to check in the day of!

The only dislike I had about this place would be the overall location. The view is to die for in the morning but when it comes to the nearest grocery store, it’s about a twenty minute drive. Also the walls are a bit thin if you have your occasional noisy neighbor.

Being able to bring our pet was amazing! The area out back overlooking the gorge is so nice. The view is beautiful and we had a great time chatting with the other guests. The fire pit is great for ambiance but doesn't really provide a lot of warmth. However, the owner came out back and brought blankets for anyone who was chilly. It was a very nice and much appreciated gesture. We definitely plan to stay again someday as we visit the area often!

I wish the fire pit was a little larger and / or put off more heat.

Great location with very nice views. We really love cute older motels. The sitting areas around the property are great. The rooms and grounds are very clean and kept well.

The bath room is very small. Also would love a table in the room

Beautiful view and access to the fenced in backyard to sit and relax. Rooms are clean and have a great rustic or cabin-like vibe. Child friendly - TV had multiple childrens stations, fenced in back area, there are two playgrounds just a few minutes down the road (one is for a school so may not be usable during school hours). The town of Saluda is so charming and has many small businesses with a surprising amount of food options to please all kinds of diets. There is a great pizza place just 1 minute from the lodge. I can't recommend this place enough!

That we only had time to stay one night. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Very nice manager...she provided us a room where pets have never stayed, which I asked in advance. The "view" was exceptional in our room that faced the back...we walked right out and enjoyed the mountain view. The new pergola and table and chairs are nice added feature. The room was clean with comfy linens. It was all about the location near a small mountain town of Saluda with plenty of hiking trails, waterfalls closeby and smaller establishments to eat at. We even met the Mayor of Saluda...at the General Store. Charming.

A normal light switch in the bathroom. The tub drained very very slowly.

The view was amazing perfect for dogs my pups had a great time .the owners were very friendly and helpful. Glad we came in fall it feels like your in a different world very peaceful
