This is a lovely chilled hotel on the most beautiful part of tulum beach. The staff went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay, providing recommendations for activities and booking restaurants etc. Thanks to Stephan for being so kind at all times! It is a chilled vibe without lots of amenities but sun loungers by the sea, a little basic bar, not much more is needed! Our family room was very comfortable with towels and dressing gowns provided and free filtered water. There wasn’t a fridge which would have been nice. But the room was very clean and stepping onto the sand and walking a few steps to the sea was heaven.

Perhaps a fridge in the room. The restaurant is located away from the sea which I think is a shame as it was not the best outlook and so we didn’t eat there. However do not let this put you off. Many people Had breakfast brought to their rooms and there are also some wonderful eateries within a few steps if you want sea views!

I had an amazing time at Alaya Tulum. The staff were great and very attentive. Travelling solo, it’s important to have a good connection with the staff and they made me feel very welcome. The room was great and housekeeping did a great job of keeping it fresh and clean each day. I ate breakfast in the restaurant and lunch at the beach and both were very good. Santos was a lovely guy! Rony brought me coffee to my room each morning, he is so nice! Do not get the massage at the massage hut on the beach next to the hotel, it was terrible and not worth the money at all. Lots of other places to consider instead. I did the yoga twice and it was amazing, a great start to the day. I like the mornings and you will catch a stunning sunrise on the beach if you get up early!

It’s a lovely place but it’s rustic. It is in a jungle after all ;-) The AC cuts out, quite a lot of bugs and I was in a garden apartment which had a fabulous wooden/thatched style roof but this meant bits of foliage/roof fell onto my bed throughout the day.

We traveled here with our daughter on a road trip around Mexico to see the ruins and the history. The hotel was really cool, had a very Tulum vibe and felt like you were living in a tree house in the jungle. The staff was the best, they made our stay very easy and comfortable. And they also worked super hard to keep rooms and property super clean. Beach was right out outside and had miles of walking in both directions.

We traveled here with our daughter of 12, and the town of Tulum is definitely more of a couples and party zone. She was safe and had fun on beach, but definitely wouldn't bring her again. The room has little privacy also, open shower area and toilet room has large slated doors. Room is hot and very humid without AC during day, not bad normally if you are out and about, but we had bad weather and were kind of stuck a few days. Place was relatively quiet at night, but while we were there they had some sort of women's fitness group staying there and they were extremely loud morning, noon and night, and rude like they owned the place. Kind of killed the vibe 3 of the 5 days we were there. Also restaurant and bar close early but there are lots of places to walk to with good food and drinks.

The room was cozy and literally right on the beach. The bathroom and bed were comfortable. The aesthetic of the place was very natural and peaceful, which we really liked. Staff was very responsive and helpful!

The room isnt super air tight so when there were strong winds a lot of sand got into the room - wasnt a huge deal, but just an extra thing to manage. A few of the blinds and doors stuck and were hard to get open. The AC only works for designated hours, so it could get hot and muggy at times when in the room or bed when the AC was not on.

Great location directly at a white sand beach with cristal clear water. Private hotel beach, very clean, no sea grass and very comfortable sunbeds.Wonderful luxury treehouse-feeling in the midst of nature. From the balcony we had a great view of the hotel area and the sea. All stuff were extremly friendly and very helpful. Special thanks to Stefan wo was always available for our questions and of big help with organising trips or reservations. We felt very welcome and would come back any time.

Beautiful hotel in a great spot on Tulum beach - loved my stay.

The property location is great, 5-15 min walk from restaurants we had booked. Being able to walk out from your room onto the beach was the best! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Happy to book us transport when needed. Breakfast brought to the room on request. Room was very clean & supplied shampoo , conditioner and Aloe Vera. We asked for an iron which was provided. It is very quiet there at night away from the loud beach clubs but still in walking distance. Although on the beach front and wooden structure we felt our personal items were save as there are many cameras and stuff watching the property.

The only negative would be that there are lots of gaps in the wooden structure so mosquitoes could usually enter but we found if we limited the amount of lights we had on in the room at night that it wasn’t as much a concern.

The people that work at Alaya are all so wonderful. The location is great, beds are comfy, food is phenomenal! Our plan for Tulum was to just relax and Alaya was the perfect place. Quiet but in walking distance to the fun. Their coffee & food were excellent but also could walk across the street for tacos/pizza/ice cream/poke/bowls/music. Beds on the beach were always available. We ate breakfast in bed, lunch on the beach and had an easy walk to dinner. yoga in the morning was included so was a ginger shot to start your day. ordering room service via WhatsApp was really nice and convenient.

This was our second time at Alaya and it surely won't be our last. We will be back as often as we can! The staff is amazing, the facilities are super comfortable, and the food/service on the little beach club is exceptional. Truly, we could not have asked for a better time!

This was minor, but there were some issues with the AC during our stay.

Beach side living in a place akin to paradise. Really attentive and helpful staff.

It's a pity the in-house restaurant is on the high side price wise but I do understand this is the standard rate in this part of Tulum. Maybe a 15% discount for guests during off peak times.
