Location COULD NOT BE BEAT! REALLY GOOD VALUE! Cool eco rooms

You should note, A/C is only from 9pm-7am... the whole area does not have a sufficient electrical infrastructure so every property has to run generators to run A/C... Also wifi does not reach room 1. I do recommend that both properties get StarLink and check all repeaters for functionality. ALL GUESTS WANT FAST WIFI... now STARLINK makes that possible in tulum where all infrastructure is very substandard

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Always quick to fix anything we mentioned. The room was very big with all the basics and amazing balcony with table and chairs. The room was, cleaned well every day with fresh towels. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Property felt very safe, staff always at reception and behind a closed gate.

Music was very loud at night especially as the room isn't fully 'sealed' at the ceiling to wall. The quietest night was Sunday, otherwise you'll have extremely loud music till midnight minimum. Would be great if there were some bedside lights or an alternative to the main room light. Would be great if aircon came on a bit earlier than 9pm.

Casa Ambar have changed our reservation to their sister Posada Lamar the one with beach club which was amazing - we love our room, just few steps to the beach, great pool area and beach chairs. Breakfast was served on our balcony every morning ( we didn’t have breakfast include, it’s around 500 pesos per person) last day they kindly gave us a complimentary breakfast.

Casa Ambar is in the heart of the hotel zone close to all the best restaurants in Tulum. Walking distance to so much and the beach is right across the street. Gitano, Hartland, Arca, Funky Geisha, Taboo, Rosanegra, all the popular beach clubs are literally a block away. They have free bikes to use which was awesome. I took advantage of this my first morning and rode to their sister hotel which has a beautiful private cenote you can access for free. The next day I rode to the mayan ruins and stopped at the other sister hotel and had free beach access with pool and other options. At night the music from the clubs didn't bother me. Large rooms and bathroom. Free breakfast was simple but tasty. Room service daily. The front desk employee Anibel was so amazing. Helped me find so much to do and answered all my questions. Great service and fun personality. I also got the pleasure to meet the manager Adriana who was so kind and helpful as well. I am excited to plan my next visit.

Don't expect anything fancy per se. But for the price and location it can't be beat. Just go with the expectation of knowing what you are getting. I used the room to shower, sleep, and store my stuff safely. Don't go into it expecting giant TVs in every room and constant ac. They operate off solar and generators and make the most of the lack of infrastructure that comprises Tulum. So nothing was really negative and I would not hesitate to recommend for a stay in Tulum. I will be coming back here sometime in Feb!

Perfect location if you would like to go to beach clubs and restaurants. Very good water pressure, with very hot and cold water. Rare in Tulum

The parking is limited and we had to leave our keys to move cars around, and thats when the hotel was not even fully booked. Slippery floors if wet.

We are very happy with our stay! It’s a lovely and super cute hotel, with friendly staff, nice light breakfast and amazing amenities offered by the sister hotels. You must check out the cenote at hotel Cormoran and the beach at Posada Lamar. The hotel offers free bikes and both locations are just 10 minutes biking.

The cleaning situation was a bit disappointing. They could definitely get some new towels and sheets as well as clean the rooms’ balcony. we had some unidentified excrements around the entire balcony 🤣 also, a mosquito repellent is a must!

This is a small but very cozy hotel. Excellent location-very beautiful view from the window.The staff is very pleasant and friendly.

In order to get to the beach, it is necessary to overcome the obstacle of the 1st line of private hotels. yes

Great location in the middle of the hotel zone In Tulum! There is a lot of great restaurants and clubs nearby! The hotel is very clean and a super cute boutique. Its on the jungle vs the beach side but you're only across the street from beach access. I honestly preferred that because it dampens the noise so you can sleep better at night! I would definitely stay here again! The staff is also so wonderful and was super helpful with recommendations all through out my stay!

The room & private terrace were very large and the location was good, right in the middle of Zona Hotelera but the room was in the back of the courtyard so less noisy, which was nice. You have access to a private beach & cenote through partner hotels about 20 mins walk away.

The AC didn’t work at all & we could not lock the door to the private terrace which was shared with the room next door. Also, the AC has a timeline (running only after 9pm) but we didn’t make use of it since it didn’t work.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The wifi was spotty but worked well when it was working. The breakfast was decent, the fresh juice the staff made was amazing. Did not love the room that was in the jungle below in the basement. But overall it was a good stay and great location.

A little pricey for bare bones room amenities.
