The staff was very nice, bed was comfy and the breakfast was terrific. Nice views too!

The bathroom was stupid tiny with a shower design that got everything wet (it was like a shower on a sailboat...no divider, no curtain; so everything in the bathroom could get wet if you weren’t careful. And it’s weird....Iceland hotels and guest houses do not provide soap! You have to bring the hand soap container into the shower with you. Bus tours use this hotel, so kind of crowded at breakfast with lots of hungry people grabbing at the food on the breakfast buffet.

Large group of travelers played cards LOUDLY in the common area later into the evening than we would have liked, and picked it up again in the morning before their bus departed. Can't hold the property responsible for their actions, but maybe some signs about quiet hours could have been conspicuously posted. Not sure if they are there or not. Didn't go looking for them. And, it doesn't mean that these travelers would have adhered to the rules.

It was nice and clean, easy to find. Only a few minutes away from Hofn. Breakfast was very nice - typical European with lots of pastries, fresh baked bread, deli meats and cheeses, plenty of yogurt, juices/coffee/tea. Everything felt well maintained and clean. Staff was very friendly. No issues with checkin, didn’t even need to put a credit card on file for incidentals.

Our room was in a separate building from the main breakfast area. Just meant for a chilly 30 second run across the courtyard in the mornings.

This is the BEST hotel we stayed at during our 10 day road trip. The customer service is exceptional. We arrived after midnight and there was a sign stuck on the door for us to call to have the door opened for us. The gentleman who greeted us at this late hour was truly exceptional . He assisted us in every way he could to try to help us settle in easily and comfortably. The breakfast is of the highest standard. lots of delicious options to choose from. The rooms were spotless and the bed was comfy. After checking out we returned to the hotel for a quick stop as it was along our route and the young lady at the front desk was amazing yet again, getting us hot water for our coffee cups and allowing us the use of the restrooms. This is truly a beautiful hotel with great staff and facilities. Wish i had checked in to this hotel earlier to be able to enjoy the clean facilities a bit more.

The face sink in the bathroom is surprisingly pretty small. It just seemed so out of place, where everything else was perfect. This did not affect my stay and my top notch review of this property.

Excellent big rooms with nice wooden floor and modern furniture, big windows! The staff was extremely nice and helpful with suggestions for trips and how to view Northern lights. Excellent breakfast with all you can dream of!

The bathrooms were a bit small, therefore the shower water spilled under the toilet. The sink was so small that it was difficult to brush your teeth without spilling water on the wall.

Our overnight stay in Hofn had its pros and cons; the cozy lodging area provided a warm retreat from the cold, but it was inconveniently separate from the reception, requiring a chilly walk. While the quiet environment was nice, the lack of available food options and the 8-kilometer distance to town made it difficult to find dinner, ultimately leading us to make do with a leftover sandwich from the counter.

Hotel Jökull was a great stop right off the ring road. Although we arrived after checkin, our host stayed until 23:45 to greet us. He was extremely friendly. Our room overlooked a glacier. It was the largest room we stayed in on our whole trip and was equipped with its own bathroom and balcony. There were also small windows above the beds, which was nice because we left the curtain open to receive gentle morning light instead of leaving the large window curtain open (too much light). The breakfast the next morning was yummy and the dining area was spacious and pretty. The inside of the hotel was really nice. And…there’s a gas station right across the street. The location was great as well as it was 10 mins from Hofn and close to Vesturhorn and the Viking village movie set.

The only thing that was not our preference was that the shower curtain didn’t do a very good job holding water out of the rest of the bathroom (since there was no basin).

Great location next to the fwy, just a few minutes out of Höfn so close to several restaurants in addition to its own. Room was spacious, nice shower, and extra pillows available without having to ask. It was a little warm even with the window open (early August), so we used a travel fan we brought. We stayed in the secondary/guesthouse building, which had giant windows in one wall; decent "mountain view" past the main building. Breakfast buffet had really good pastries and sliced meats.

Stayed here for one night whilst doing the ring road around Iceland. Check in was easy and the rooms was clean, tidy, and a good size; no complaints on this front. Slightly longer drive than expected into Höfn for dinner, but not a major issue (BTW, if you go to Höfn for dinner, go to the Pakkhús restaurant - great food there). Only complaint about the room is, if you are going to put a kettle in a room, make it so that you can put it under the tap! Really annoying having to fill a glass and then decant that into the kettle! Breakfast was included in the cost of the room and was really good quality- plenty of choice to set us up for the next part of our trip. Certainly a great place for a one night stop over.

Big parking lot, very friendly staff which gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner (the great Kjarr Restaurant in Höfn) and breakfast was decent with a good selection of food. They even have a charging station for your EV at the parking lot.

Soundproofing of the room and the hotel doesn't have a lift, so if you're not able to easily carry your luggage up, ask for a room on the ground floor. Bathroom didn't had a air vent and the washing basin is very small so it's very difficult to place any toiletries
