this is really a charming place :) it has all facilities one can really wish for - pool (inside/outside), billiard, various hidden/private rooms for chatting, sauna, tennis court, ping pong, ... direct access to the fjords (people swum in it) cozy room lovely views from the restaurant nice breakfast selection (coffee could have tasted better :( - coffee_lovers_here ) spacious and modern bathroom

the underground parking has just a few and quite tiny lots - SUVs or minivans would have issues .. .tho there is one outside parking around the corner as well for guests we got a room which was on the ground floor and facing the street/outside parking .. since there were no curtains (only blinds) we couldn't ventilate the room, nor have the blinds open in the morning/evening .. for everyone passing by would have gotten a very good look into our room and straight on our bed :( this was very disappointing.. at least having curtains there would help

Wonderful location, very helpful and professional staff (both in reception and restaurant)- in one word: perfect!!! We spent 2 nights in the hotel and had a great time. Breakfasts were delicious and the service was superb. Special thanks to Mr. Maciej for being helpful and giving useful advices! Well done!

We booked two rooms and got them close to each other, as requested. Rooms were in good condition and not as outdated as we expected based on some reviews. Mini fridge in the room was convenient. Interestingly, there were a lot of places in hotel's common area where a large group could seat together. They were always empty. Breakfast was great with a lot of options. There are great views from the restaurant’s windows. Possibility to charge EV was convenient.

Dinner buffer was not as good as we expected. There were not that many options. E.g. salmon was served only once during our two visits, and it was nothing special. Also, the warm food was not warm enough. For the price, I would expect at least one non-alcoholic drink to be included in the price. Except for the hotel’s backyard, there are no places to walk nearby the hotel without need to immediately climb into the mountain, where roads might be too steep for somebody. There’s only one jacuzzi in the spa, which was always occupied. No water boiler in the room.

Lovely views from the lobby and restaurant . Ample choices for breakfast and buffet dinner. One receptionist was very helpful with suggestions for hikes and things to see and do in the Hardanger area. The charging station was very helpful as we had rented an electric car. The hotel is clean and spacious with recreation facilities ( which we did not use, but might be nice if travelling with children or young adults) The bathroom was new and clean with all amenities.

The room was on 6th floor and had awkward roof shape . spouse bumped his head on it. Beds are clean and comfortable but quite narrow. No tea/coffee making facility in room and breakfast starts only at 7 am so early risers cannot enjoy morning cuppa. poor lighting in room, but you do get used to it.

Excellent location with a very beautiful view. Wonderful free spa with a view and direct access to the fjord, which is perfect for cooling down after a sauna, but you can also choose the pool. We were celebrating a special occasion and got a room upgrade – the balcony with a fjord view is worth coming back for. Decent and varied breakfast and dinner in buffet format.

The plastic chairs on the balcony look cheap for such a luxurious view. The main thing is to avoid the cheapest room on the ground floor with a view of the parking space

Spa facilities are fantastic, and the location near the orchards and Queen Sonja's panoramic hike are ideal. Breakfast included was superb with ample options to fuel your day.

The room temperature was WAY too hot. We turned the thermostat as low as we could and opened the windows, but it was quite uncomfortable. Spa facilities just a bit small with the number of guests at the hotel. There are pretty limited sunbeds in the adult area for example, and there was often a queue for the sauna

Great facilities, amazing views, good style.

This is just nitpicking, but It's missing some details and a few anemities commonly found and expected in other luxury hotels. Details like thoughtful placement of towels, bathrobes and pool bags for the guest. Towels are missing from the wardrobes, but is instead lying outside in the hallway which is unfortunate if you forgot to grab one before changing to your swimwear or jumped in the pool already. There is no pool bag available in the room, so many of the guest will be walking with their pool items in their hand down to the pool if they haven't brought a bag with them. Usual expected anemities in the room in this price range like dental kit, water boiler, tea and coffee is also missing.

The location is unbeatable and the staff was very friendly. Also the food at the buffet was very good with a good variety of vegetarian dishes as well.

The interior of the hotel has probably seen better days. Everything was still in a good shape and very clean but the aesthetics are a bit from a different time, that we felt a bit like guests on a cruise ship. It’s a very personal assessment and I’m sure others are happy with it, but I believe the hotel would have even more potential with a more modern twist.

One of the best hotels I have been to! The staff were friendly and accommodating. They let us store our luggage as we waited for our room to be ready. The hotel is gorgeous and maintained so well. Right on the fjord, picturesque views. There was so much to eat at their buffet for both breakfast and dinner. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a balcony that overlooked the fjord and the apple orchards which was charming. The pools and sauna were so much fun. Highly recommend staying here for a couple of days.

After needing to cancel and change plans twice prior to this trip the staff were very helpful in getting us re-booked, and after two years of waiting to visit Norway we'd been looking forward to the Ullensvang hotel as a highlight for a long time. It was a very enjoyable stay and everything that we'd hoped for.

The hotel was a little difficult to find using Apple Maps, which tries to take you to a different address about 5 miles away. The dinner buffet could offer a little more variety to justify the price. The advert of the room on Booking.com is "Garden view", which is a little misleading and would be better to keep to just "Double room". It would also really help to print on drinks menus what the ABV content of alcohol is, as we were caught out by a drink that we'd expected to be non-alcoholic.
