Great location, just a 5 minute walk from the city centre. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is on site parking. Breakfast had a good choice of cereal and fruit etc with a buffet style cooked breakfast. Toast is made to order, so no wastage. In our room the bedding and towels were very clean and the bed was so comfortable.
The car park is first come first served, plus there is a £5 surcharge if you book through Booking.com. The bedrooms are a little dated and need freshening up. The over bath shower had a shower curtain with pink stains along the bottom few inches! The grout and general tiling in the bathroom is old and needs renewing.

The hotel was located in an ideal location, near to the Lichfield Cathedral and in walking distance of the town centre. They dont provide evening meals, however their sister restaurant does and if you book there and show the waitress your hotel booking card, you get 20% off your meal and drinks. There are a lot of eateries in the town centre, so you are spoilt for choices there.
The only thing and its minor is the other occupants , I was woken up at 1am by someone arriving back talking loudly and slamming their bedroom door, but this is not down to the hotel owner, just the individual.

A very comfortable and clean hotel, just 10/15 minutes from the cathedral and the city centre and with its own parking. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room (a premier double) was spacious and bright with a large bay window. The breakfast was good with a vegetarian option, served in a comfortable dining room. The hotel has no lunchtime or evening catering, but there are many food pubs and restaurants in the city centre. It does, though, have a well stocked bar open until midnight.
The hot water control on our mixer tap in the bathroom shower was seized and the water was scalding hot. This was very serious safety issue which we reported to reception in the morning. We were assured that the housekeeping staff would put it right. However, returning to the hotel at the end of the day we found that no repair had been undertaken to the hot water tap, so our shower was a safety hazard and unusable.

This gaff has been our go-to hotel in Lichfield for years, and we stay a few times a year. There is an ongoing refurbishment of the hotel, and we were allocated one of the refurbished rooms - which was very nice indeed. The breakfast is good and plentiful (veggie sausages!!), and the staff are always fine. A few minutes from the excellent town centre, with plenty of parking on-site. Note - they charge anyone who books through booking.com an extra £5 for parking.
Nothing much. Still very good value. Note - they do not serve dinner - but offer around 25% off the food at their sister hotel (The George), in the town centre

Spacious comfortable room, good breakfast but above all the staff all had a welcoming friendly and helpful attitude. The car park was useful as we came by car and the location is close to Lichfield Cathedral, the Erasmus Darwin Museum Beacon Park and the shops and restaurants in the centre.
You have to accept that this not a completely quiet location in that it is on an important road out into and out of the centre so there was some noise from that but its a small price to pay for the convenience and the excellent welcome

Location was excellent rooms was too
The hotel had an unexpected problem with the heating/water so we had no hot water for shower/bath but the the staff sorted that problem in the morning and were extremely apologetic and helpful Apart from a late night knock on the door from security telling me to lock the door ….. bit weird… as I had to unlock the door to answer it …

Room was clean and comfortable of a good side. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice. All staff friendly helpful and polite. Very lucky to have them they are best part of the hotel. Great value for money and great location.
Bathroom could of been a bit cleaner, room could of been warmer but that is little things. choice of evening food could improve as i wouldn't be able to eat there. This doesn't stop me from coming back as it isn't my first visit.

Lovely, airy room, well appointed and with comfortable chairs. The breakfast was good, with delicious sausages and a separate pot of coffee for each of us.
The breakfast room was small and we felt very cramped for space. The waitress asked what toast we’d like - but not when we wanted it so it came long before our hot dish was was stone cold: we could have asked for more, hot toast but would have wasted the rest. Annoying that the WiFi had been out of order for several days though no fault of the hotel’s.

Parking was just around the back in the Hotel's car park. My room was a dream, space to move and a full bathroom. Breakfast each morning was a joy, you could order whatever you wanted. The city was only a short walk away, a real joy to walk around, even in winter weather. There are multiple eating places in the town. At the hotel the staff were always friendly and cheerful, a real joy considering the weather
Very little. I was let down by there being no Pizza when I had already made enquiry during the day.

We stayed in Lichfield because staying a night at the hotel together with the cost of return rail tickets for 2 from London was still only half the price of a night in an 'average' London hotel (Premier Inn or Travelodge) and we saw some of the countryside and investigated the attractive City of Lichfield and it's wonderful Cathedral which is highly recommended. :)
The only reasons for the below "excellent" reviews were:- Facilities: the fan provided in the room could have been more forceful in circulating the air and provided with a longer lead to allow more option for positioning Location: it was a shame it is situated up a hill from the centre ... maybe not normally a problem but our stay was in the middle of the recent 30C heatwave!
