The room was very nice and although we hardly used the tv it was on an outside wall so it wouldn't have disturbed the adjoining room, that was a great idea. The breakfast was buffet style and had everything you could want and loved being able to sit on the outdoor terrace. Staff mostly excellent. Beautiful walks around the park and the whole place is brilliantly upkept. Wonderful wild flowers around the borders.

The evening meal menu was a disappointment, like pub food. It was fine but i just expected better. Nicer menu better presented. Bog standard really. We loved sitting out on the terrace watching the farmer collecting his bales and the birds going to roost. However on the second evening they kept trying to clear out table, (we were grazing at our cheeseboards) when I asked why (the terrace and restaurant were 80% empty) she said her manager kept telling her too.

Lovely room with excellent facilities including large fluffy white towels and Crabtree products in the bathroom, easy, free WiFi and an iron with ironing board. The pool was a good temperature and it was great to have another large soft towel plus a padlock for a locker without the need for a deposit. Breakfast was delicious, notably the black pudding!

The room lighting was a little dim for older eyes. The bathroom towels were a bit out of reach from the shower. There wasn’t a hand towel for the basin. No one cleared the plates from our table (or others nearby) until we were nearly ready to leave.

Very accommodating staff and team, rooms very comfortable and spacious. Dining room was fully booked but staff were able to find us a table outside to eat. Food was tasty with good size portions. Breakfast was excellent, with a big range of options.

Our original waitress lost our order, but another team member picked up on it after 45 minutes or so. Very kindly moved us inside to a nice warm table and the re-ordered food arrived shortly thereafter. Slightly confused as our waitress said that service charges did not go to the staff, which I had always assumed they did which is why I am happy to pay them

Not a lot to dislike but the bed was not particularly comfortable Quite hard and noisy ( creaking) when you moved about Fridge ( which was not working well) No water No bath robes so had to go down to the pool fully dressed & change there..a little niggle really but it would have made a big difference to us

All the staff at reception were particularly friendly and pleasant. Chris who was the Assistant Manager of Leisure facility was extremely pleasant and made me and my young family feel very welcome and was one of the best members of hotel staff we have ever came across. He spoke with my children and took the time to ask about our day. Members of staff like Chris need to be recognised for their outstanding attitude to their work.

It was clean and comfortable. Spa facilities were good.

When we arrived we found out there was a football tournament on so lots of children everywhere which when yr going for a relaxing spa day it wasn’t ideal. Due to the amount of people we were initially told we couldn’t get into the pool/spa until at least 5 but were eventually allowed in before then. Once in it was very good, but would have like some notification about the tournament before hand.

Exceptional customer service from Majeed (?) who checked us in when we arrived late on Saturday evening, 16/9/23, having been completely let down by the LUXE APARTMENTS in Derby at the very last minute (I.e. when we were sitting outside the location with our two kids of 10 and under having driven all the way from London!). We were able to make a last minute booking at the Hilton and he was so welcoming and so helpful. We hadn't realised that the booking for 4 only allowed for one sofa-bed and Majeed very kindly gave us a free upgrade without a word of complaint. All the staff were super helpful and friendly- would highly recommend it!!

I stayed overnight with my son who is 13 with additional needs (prader-willi syndrome). I visited the night before and met Sarah Thomas (I think) at reception who was so helpful and booked me into the restaurant and showed me round. My son likes the lifts and talking to people which can be difficult when you are busy, but all your staff were really patient - and I'm really grateful - thank you.

I had terrible trouble with the app for charging my car but I appreciate this is outsourced to another company.

The dining area and bar were lovely. The food was nice and the rooms were so comfortable.

The fact we arrived after a 3.5 hour car trip after school and the kids weren't allowed in the pool even though they are 12 and 9 so not very little. We were about 5 minutes past the time so it was a shame the lady at the pool didn't allow this even though the receptionist said it might be fine. This was a big part of why we booked here and not somewhere nearer to Alton Towers.

On entry the staff was lovely and we was quickly directed to our room, I requested to have a little touch to our room as it was a birthday, they succeeded and the little touch made it even more welcoming. Our stay, the room was as expected, including a very comfy bed and clean throughout. The facilities, the pool and other facilities were just what we needed, however times were limited for drink and food. The breakfast was filling and had a great selection for everyone. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.

Opening and closing times for some of the facilities were short. If they were packages available that joined with booking a room and the spa would have been even better.
