The location was ideal, the room decor in black & gold gorgeous. Breakfast was lovely- fresh breads & pastries, muesli- but I especially loved the loose leaf teas. Complimentary drinks in the afternoon/evening with nibbles. The young bearded gent who worked on reception and at breakfast bar was wonderful- so friendly.
The heating- we had room 101 and could not cook the room (cold weather outside)- the air con we set at 18°C wouldn’t cool. The portable back up air con worked but the heat generated to give cool output negated this. Our son’s room (1) was in contrast too cold & air con wouldn’t heat despite being turned to 38°C.

Well located. Decent size bedroom. Nice shower but very visible toilet. Nice deck with free nuts /drinks in the evening
Room under pavement down VERY narrow steps but staff did help with luggage. On our last night, a Friday, a SERIOUS party on the pavement right outside our bedroom window!!!went on till after 0330!!! Managed seemed to not have any control or did not warn us. Apparently a student Res, so obviously a regular thing. The toilet is in the bathroom with a glass door, so NO privacy if you need. Not a lot of floor space for luggage and no shelves in the cupboard to stack clothes so it was useless.

Hotel is in a great location, just outside the centre but so easy to get to with public transport. The canal view was stunning! Also the complimentary happy hour was great to end our day before heading out for dinner
Only issues we had with our stay was that the double bed was 2 singles pushed together, there was no sheet holding them together just a duvet on top, this mean there was a noticeable gab on the middle and made the bed uncomfortable. Also the walls aren’t very sound proof, we had lots of banging most nights (not sure if it was neighbours or people staying in the hotel) but we also got woken up one morning from the room next door to the sound of someone being sick! This was very unpleasant!

We loved how spacious this lovely suite was. The bed was huge and though the bathroom is compact, it was nice and clean and efficiently laid out. The room also had beautiful big windows that could be opened wide to allow lots of nice airflow. Great location and we walked into the main part of town quite a few times. Tram stop is also close by. Staff on reception are also really nice and helpful. A lovely young lady helped us get our luggage up the very steep staircase on the day we arrived, which was really hard work. We were so grateful for the help.
The mattress on the bed wasn't what we were used to and though it was comfortable it was just a thin pad . This was our first visit to Amsterdam so I'm not sure if this is normal for The Netherlands or not. It would have been nice to have a few more teabags and coffee sachets each day too. The stairs are a real issue. I appreciate that this lovely building dates from the 1700s but the stairs are really steep and narrow and it makes getting luggage up to the rooms extremely difficult and potentially dangerous.

The room was a good size and it was comfortable. The bathroom was splendid even if a little old.
We were aware there was an issue with the AC and a temporary unit was placed in the room. Unfortunately the unit was not up to the job of cooling the room and was very noisy, so could not sleep with it on. The curtains were a little shabby and unhooked at the middle. The first night was very noisy on the street, not unexpected but we had to leave the windows open for air which made the noise level louder. We did ask to be moved and they would have moved us had the hotel not been fully booked.

Nice canal view hence we stayed in a room with small round windows whereas other rooms has full bay windows facing the canal. They also have terrace facing the canal which is open to guests.
They sent an email after booking that they were renovating their Ac’s thus we might be experiencing some issues with Ac. As a matter of fact it was not working , the weather during our stay around 15c except our last days where we had some difficulties. They do not have an elevator and the stairs are narrow. Total stories they have is 3. Location is 30 minutes walking to city center but a way from all hustle bustle of touristic venues.

Absolutely charming hotel in the center, it takes 10-15 minutes by feet to all museums and Heineken Brewery. And 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. The staff is lovely and international. We highly recommend to book a Suite, as it is the most spacious room, and it is very warm and comfortable, good bath tub with jacuzzi etc. We saw other 2 rooms and they were not as good as suite, although also nice. They have a lovely small restaurant with very good and tasty breakfast, 14 euros only. Great omelets, fresh juice, berries, yogurt, fresh pastry. Happy hour from 4 to 8 p.m. is also a great feature: unlimited wines, beers, soft drinks.cheese, olives, pickles, very good local salami, nuts. In terms of food and drink this place is very generous. Beautiful terrace with a nice view as well. Very comfy beds, good amenities in the room, as safety box, sport mats, iron desk, mini bar etc. All in all great value for money. Would come back, thx 😊
The only minor things were absence of a proper socket in a bathroom with high voltage, the existing one was only for shaving. Also the wooden frames of windows were very authentic, but already dated and very hard to open/close. Would be nice to have a small bottle of water in the mini bar, as there were already cola and beers. We also got a room at 16:00, although the check in was at 15:00.

The staff were amazing, pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. Allan, the Manager, is exceptional; a veritable fountain of knowledge, super personality, someone with whom you want to deal when staying in any accommodation away from home; 5 stars to you Allan ! Mikele, and Denisa, prepared wonderful breakfast each day; thanks to both of you, great getting to know you, 5 stars to each of you for such a great and nutritious start to each day; The bed was super comfortable, amazing soft yet firm pillows x 4, great canal view from my room, everything superb; I look forward to my next stay, and highly recommend this Hotel; the staff are super, location was perfect for me, near Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, walkable to City Center, Central Train Station, Joordan neighborhood, etc. Thank you again to everyone ..! BTW the WiFi was like lightning speed, kudos for that..!

Central location. Easily accessible by metro and tram. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lovely quiet area located on the banks of the canal. Staff were very friendly informative, accommodating and helpful. Lovely idea to have complimentary drinks and nibbles in the dining area from 4 to 8 everyday. Lovely small decking to sit outside next to the canal. Felt very safe in the locality . Some lovely cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.
The stairs in the hotel are very steep narrow and spiralling and there are no lifts. We were aware that there wasn’t a lift and we were accommodated with a room on the first floor. We couldn’t access the bed from the sides as the bed which consisted of two single beds pushed together was the width of the room. You literally had to climb onto the bed from the end of the bed. So this accommodation would definitely not be suited to anyone with mobility issues.

A very welcome bed for the night after a missed connection left us stranded in Amsterdam for 36hrs. It was lovely to see so much of this beautiful city on foot in our short stay. The staff were great and allowed us to store luggage after check out.
The stairs up to our room were unexpected and very steep. Getting all our luggage up and down was hard work on the narrow steps. The heating was a bit too warm for the weather, and only a doona as bed cover meant we were too hot through the night.
