This location is ideal: easy access to Ella’s rock through peaceful farmland, with a gorgeous train wending quietly through the lush valley. Best of all panoramic views in two directions from the dining room. And the best and most generous breakfast in Sri Lanka. A bargain and beautiful. Very sweet staff too.

This is not a slick impersonal resort; it is a small and humble place. Don’t expect 5* facilities. Do relish the proximity to Ella’s attractions but balanced out by the peace, away from the madness and constant noise of the town. If they could improve the hot water flow then it would be perfect.

I loved our stay here!! The rooms are high up and they have interconnected sliding doors - the wind sweeps through and it is just dreamy. The views are outstanding. Wifi excellent! Food was so fabulous - authentic and large portions. Special mention to the chef who makes the most amazing Sri Lankan potato curry - he has inspired me to perfect it when I get home. We also tried many varieties of Roti. The price is excellent and we will definitely be back!! There is a local tuk tuk driver named Lakshan who comes to pick you up and takes you to some lovely spots in the area - Zipline, Little Adam’s peak and the Arch bridge. The price for his 3.5 hours tour was less than I was willing to pay so I happily tipped him.

The area is hilly - be prepared for this!

Walking to the main central area of Ella is via a short cut thru the train tracks. Am experience one should not missed. Lovely views and quiet area. Suited for adventure walkers who doesn’t mind the uphill. Otherwise, a fast tuktuk ride can take you to the accomodation within about 10 minutes. This can also be organised with the owner should you wish. Traditional breakfast was fab ! Staff were lovely. The Pekoe trail is worth a try and can easily be accessed without a need for a walking guide.

Nothing. Unless if you have high expectations, as this place is propitious.

We had a fantastic stay at Ella Dream Catcher Resort, where the owner Venura picked us up from and dropped us off at our Beragala cottage. He also took care of all our transportation needs to Ella town and other attractions, which was very convenient. This allowed us to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the resort and the lively vibe of the town whenever we wanted. We just contacted him whenever we needed a ride. We also hiked Ella Rock, which was easily accessible from the hotel as it was located near the trail head. The room and the service were excellent and we couldn’t ask for more.

The owner Venura and his team are excellent hosts! He even picked us up from the station and offered us some rides in the city... The rooms are very nice and clean with a fantastic view into the green and surrounding mountains - For fans of the famous train in Sri Lanka even better, as the train track goes around the property and allows great pics! The breakfast is local style and very tasty. Venura has a big heart, takes excellent care for his guests and is always happy to help with advices, tipps or arrangements. We can strongly recommend to stay at your place!!

Really nothing!

It is hard to put in words how much we loved it at Dream Catcher Resort. It offers spectacular views either from the rooftop, the balcony or the restaurant. The food is amazing and the location could not be greater. It is a little bit outside of Ella town but I highly recommend that because out there it is so much more beautiful and you can walk into town on the railroad tracks which is breathtakingly gorgeous. The aspect that blew our minds however was the friendliness, helpfulness and general pleasantness of all of the staff and most of all the owner. He could help us with the most complex problems and drove us into town and back whenever we wanted. This was one of our mist loved places in all of Sri Lanka.

Excellent location on a hilltop overlooking the railway tracks ((several view points from room and resort) with views of Ella Rock, short walk to a nice waterfall and close to the Organic Tea Plantation. Superfriendly and knowledgeable owner going out of his way to accommodate his guests. Best food (dinner and breakfast) we had during our trip! Very clean rooms with stable hot & cold water supply, insects were not an issue. Ample parking is available, even small buses can reach the location.

The dream catcher ! So peaceful, lovely and relaxing! “The dream catcher “ surely catches your dreams in the most beautiful way possible We are a Maldivian family of 4. This is our first time traveled to Ella. Here is a quick review; Wow ! It was just amazing! A great location with stunning views. We stayed 3 nights booked 2 rooms no: 04 and 05. Everything was more then what we expected; clean rooms with big balconies, comfortable beds with anti mosquito nets. The lovely singing sounds of the birds 24/7 is something we won’t forget. The Restaurant area is covered with all glass walls except one side where the kitchen is located. So we were able to enjoy the fabulous view of Ella mountains while we were dining. We had all our breakfasts here. The staffs were so friendly and always greeted us with a smile. They were ready to assist us on anything we asked, especially the owner. He was not always at the hotel but he answered all our calls and fixed small issue’s quickly. He even helped us in many ways, gave us advice showed us directions even dropped us to few locations for free in his car. Ps. we were able to catch the blue train from the balcony so that was definitely something! I would warn you about two things though, there was a bun tuktuk which passed by every once in a while with the catchiest rhythm along with a bus, those were the only two troubling sounds we caught, always took us by surprise but it was only for 6 seconds max And the other is to keep the doors of the balcony shut during night and to cover the ends of the door with a towel or blanket, unless you want to have unexpected lizard guests in your room… speaking from experience hehe All in all we would highly recommend this place, it was worth every penny! One won’t get any better place then this in Ella for this price, we bet you!

A small hotel in a peaceful hill with pleasant views. Only 250 m walking uphill from Kithaella station (next to Ella main railway station). Very friendly owner and staff. They treated our driver very nicely. Large and tasteful breakfast. We did a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class that was recommended by the owner. It was exotic and nice experience.

Steep hill to get to the place can be a challence to some cars. We made it fine. Also tuk-tuks drive it well.

The location was accessible by Van. But through very narrow street. The owner met us and gave us a briefing about the property. The hotel is walkable distance from the train station. The view out of the room was amazing. Great breakfast with fresh fruits and western and local options. The owner gave us some advice for things to do.

One of the fans in the room didn't work properly and it was a bit uncomfortable during the night. Be ready to battle some insects as it's nature. When you are with a family that's not used to such an environment it was a battle.
