Our host Isobel was exceptionally kind and helpful, she made us so welcome and gave us such a lot of useful information on where to visit and where to eat. She really gave us an insight and feel for beautiful Bordeaux and brought the place alive. Our room was so comfortable and very spacious, with great attention to detail. Breakfast was served in the orangery overlooking a lovely courtyard garden. The food was plentiful and the local bakery provided the freshest bread and croissants, which were delicious! The location was within easy walking distance to the train, tram and bus station, which made getting about the city very easy. That said it was a quiet location for sleeping. We would definitely go again.
There was nothing we didn't like, apart from having to leave after only two nights!

Lovely warm welcome from our hostess , Isabelle. We went for the economy room as we were staying for just 3 nights. The room was SPOTLESS !! Everything clean and fresh ! Beautiful shower and separate toilet in the room. Comfortable bed that made us sleep in every morning . Breakfast was exceptional!!! Beautiful, fresh croissants, different jams, cheeses, fresh bread, fresh fruit , massive coffee cups 👍🏼 We had lovely morning conversations with Isabelle and the other guests . Isabelle gave us a map showing places to visit and how to get there, we wouldn’t have enjoyed our holiday as much without Isabelle’s knowledge .
Nothing - it’s perfect!!!

Isabelle is wonderfully helpful: sharing (in a separate space) her large house with guests. It really does feel like being in a family home - but in a nice, relaxed and unobtrusive way. Breakfast can be taken around a communal table, with a small but well equipped adjacent kitchen for all guests should they need it at any time. A paved courtyard with seats and umbrellas may be used by all in fine weather. (The main house entrance is through here and not from the main street.) My bedroom was fine, comfortable and quiet. (Although there is traffic noise in the street during the morning rush hour.)
Nothing at all about the place itself, but beware when making plans because on 1 May there is no municipal transport. (As in other French towns.) I had realised May Day was celebrated more than in the UK, but I didn't know this . . . (Although ideal for train travellers - very close to the main station - the house is a 30 mins walk from Bordeaux centre.)

The owner Isabelle was very friendly, the room was large and pleasant. Breakfast consisted of bread, croissants, cheese, jam and yoghurt which was fresh and tasty. The b&b was in a quiet street a short walk from the station. This is not near the centre of the city. However there is a very regular tram service from the station so it was easy to get around.
Toilet in the room was separate from the shower and wash basin, which some might find off-putting. TV in the room fairly uninspired, no foreign channels.

This accommodation is an apartment in a beautifully authentic traditional Bordeaux town house with lovely tiles and wooden floors. It is tasteful and restful. The host is really attentive and helpful and a lovely person. The breakfast was traditional French with coffee, very fresh croissant, bread and pastries, cheese, yoghurt and a range of fresh local fruit. The accommodation is within short walking distance to the Bordeaux train station and the area felt very safe even late at night and early in the morning.
Wouldn't change anything!

I asked for a twin room. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Isabelle was away, but her friend Coline was very friendly and helpful. The best thing about the location is that it's close to the train station. To experience the 'nicer' parts of Bordeaux you have to use the tram.
The breakfast was very basic. Bread, some spreads, a tub of yoghurt and a slice of cheese. I would have liked the option of some yummy French pastries, some muesli and chopped or dried fruit and perhaps some cold meats.

Beautiful property in the original style and a great place to stay in Bordeaux. I booked a room for 3 and instead of the usual pull out couch you get in a hotel the single is a proper bed with a little privacy. The air con was so welcome after some very hot days and we all slept very well. Isabelle was brilliant and gave us lots of good advice. The location was excellent with the train station very close (but no noise from it) and a playground a block away which had ping pong, boules and play equipment.
Nothing.

Very convenient location near the main Bordeaux station and trams that quickly get you into the centre (or a 30 minute walk away). A lovely room and beautiful fresh breakfast with other guests. But the most exceptional thing about La Halte Montaigne was our hostess Isabelle, who could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable about her city and region. Isabelle was also kind enough to keep in touch and offer her help after we checked out and got caught up in the major fast train outage.

The location of La Halte Montaigne can’t be beat. About a 5-min walk from the train station and the tram. The breakfast was wonderful each of the two mornings I was there: fresh bread purchased at the bakery the same morning, fresh bread, delicious local yoghurt, excellent cheeses and fresh fruit. Isabelle, the owner, was a delight to talk with very helpful in directing me to important points of interest in the city. I would highly recommend this B & B to anyone visiting Bordeaux.
Nothing.

Isabelle was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The house is a beautiful older property with clean, spacious rooms. Breakfast was excellent - fresh croissants, bread and fruit. Location is handy for the train station and I would recommend travelling around by tram. Isabelle kindly suggested places to go and booked us onto a vineyard tour.
Everything was very good, no complaints.
