We wanted a cabin to relax and get away and City on a Hill did not disappoint! The cabin was absolutely precious and the fenced yard for our fur baby was amazing! One morning the ponies on the property came to visit us....I wish I would have brought carrots!! I'm an animal lover and this was icing on the cake!! They also had grills...so we grilled steaks!! The cabins are about 15 minutes from Fredericksburg and we saw so many deer on this road! The owner will send you texts on the day of your arrival & will respond to any of your needs. We will definitely be back!!

Loved the seclusion, the hot tub, the clean lines of decor, the cleanliness of the cabin overall, and the comfort. Great to have all the comforts of home, including a washer and dryer, in a lovely cabin which is beautifully appointed. Very deceptively rustic from the outside. Very modern inside. Lovely garden complete with monarch butterflies. Pathway access to the river, outdoor swing by the river. Covered parking. Great overall! Would love to go back sometime. Great proximity to Fredericksburg, TX.

There was nothing we found to be deficient. It was a wonderful get-away!

This was an Oasis minutes from the Fredericksburg shopping district and more wineries than I could count. Private cabin was quiet, clean and fully equipped. Private Jacuzzi was awesome. Interaction with property owner was outstanding. We had one issue that was quickly addressed. The customer service only made us love this place more. We have two small dogs that made themselves at home.

We had no issues but some may have issues with the quiet and solitude of being in the country.

The cabin was lovely, comfortable, charming and clean. We loved the back porch, where we enjoyed a thunderstorm the first night and an amazing star show the second. Perfect! Best of all, we visited the ponies every morning — took carrots which made us very popular! I’d encourage anyone visiting to bring carrots and spend time with these adorable and gentle creatures.

The only thing I can think of is the noise from the hot tub, but that’s small compared to all that’s great about the place.

relaxing place to stay, We stayed in the LOVE cabin, was nicely decorated, homey, the deer were walking around when we pulled up and just great place to stay. Hot tub was great!! and mattress was comfortable.

rain shower head had no water pressure, also Keurig did not make good coffee, only made about 6 oz of coffee when set at 12 oz, and busted 2nd pod so it made a big mess and put coffee grounds in coffee cup, also could never get it to make more than 6oz cup of coffee at a time

Spacious, clean, and attractive cabin, with a covered porch and a hot tub on the porch. Super comfortable king bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress. Full kitchen. Covered parking. Even has a 220 V RV plug in on the property for those with an electric vehicle who want to charge overnight . About 10 miles outside of Fredericksburg in a rural area. Very quiet.

Nothing not to like. Unless you want to have an office with a receptionist. It’s a private homestead property, not a hotel, so there is no office or reception. But the manager of the property, who lives either on site or nearby, was extremely responsive and friendly. I received replies to my inquiries within minutes. Getting into the cabin only required a code for the keypad lock.

The cabin was so well done that we didn't want to leave! We brought food, so we were able to prepare our meals and eat outside on the covered porch. The private hot tub was such a wonderful treat! The bed was very comfortable, and the A/C was fabulous! Everything you could ask for with a really nice, big bathroom, washer/dryer, tv -- every comfort was provided. We went for walks out to the road and down to the creek. There were deer everywhere! And the little ponies let us pet them! We sat under the trees and read books. At night, we actually saw the Milky Way and constellations. The cabins are just a short drive outside of Fredericksburg. We enjoyed town, but I really think we enjoyed the seclusion at the cabin even more. What a wonderful getaway for us! Thank you, Jean, for thinking of everything!

The hot tub was turned on and hot when we arrived. The cabin was decorated very nicely. We stayed in the Love Cabin, and it was very much love and couple focused. Everything listed as amenities were there. the host was amazing and answered all questions in a timely manner. Though we visited in winter, the scenery was still beautiful.

The bed was somewhat uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on.

Truly a retreat away from the hubbub of the city. a place of peace and tranquility. The cabin is extremely clean and contains everything you need to have a great time, especially for couples. the hostess is excellent. They accommodated a special request of rose petals on the bed for the anniversary and a bottle of chilled wine ready on our arrival, that's bonus points! The hot tub was ready upon arrival, it was our favorite place during the stay. The air conditioning at a pleasant temperature and appropriate music inside the cabin to set the ambient.

I honestly can't find anything I didn't like. this place is excellent

This was our first experience with City on a Hill at Spring Creek, but our expectations were high based on reviews. The cabin was perfect for us. We wanted a place outside of town that would be quiet and shaded. The stream running behind the cabin was a plus and my wife enjoyed visiting the miniature ponies on the other side. We also appreciated the covered parking since there was heavy rain one night during our stay. We WERE NOT disappointed!

I can't really think of anything that we didn't like. Some might find it a little too far from town, but we enjoyed the 10-minute drive each morning, little traffic and quite scenic.
