Fabulous staff from manager to cleaners/servers--so friendly, kind, cheerful and helpful. Amazing old historic property with such character and charm. Very handsome place!! Lots of different rooms to hang out in plus outdoor deck chairs and a swing plus deck lounge. Great, varied continental and local breakfast options and capsule coffee. Loved the four post-bed and decor of spacious room and nice, modern bathroom + tub. it was so refreshing in August, we slept with the windows open that are all screened in. No problem with any mosquitoes at night. Do bring spray as you are in the woods! They can arrange a few half or full-day trips for you with ease all the way up to highest tea plantation in Brinchang and Mossy Forest, etc.

Unfortunately, there isn't much nearby as far as being able to walk to restaurants. We didn't have a car so we hired taxis to go into Tana Rata for some day tours & evening meals, though you can eat in at the hotel. There are some fruit/snack stands across the way and you can get strawberries there, ice cream, peanuts, etc. There isn't a sidewalk and people do not really walk on the road anyway. And the property was not built as a resort. way back when. It's right on the road so there is constant street traffic sounds that can't be helped. You can hear the birds singing but also the trucks and motorcycles.

Lovely ambience and extremely helpful and thoughtful staff. This place has charm and we really enjoyed staying here. We also got upgraded. to a suite which was very spacious with a massive bathroom. The room overlooked the lake.

These are niggles; we'd still recommend this place. Great to have a teapot in the room. We'd have loved one each because we love our tea in the morning but we like different teas! Fresh milk in the fridge. for the aforementioned tea would have been a nice touch. Access to a filtered water machine woild have been so much better than all those plastic bottles. The bread rolls in the restaurant are like the ones on planes. Otherwise the food is geeat.

It's isolated on a mountain top and the view is stunning. The English architecture and interior is cozy and beautiful. It's also not far from the tea, honey, strawberry, lavender, and butterfly farms, which are the Cameron's hallmark.

The lack of affordable transportation (if any) due to its isolation, HOWEVER, the lakehouse is well connected and they offer contacts for rides/activities. Also, the miss/hit nature of the food offered; first night's food was very good, second night's food was horrible with a weird menu; tasted and smelled horrible and we found hair in the food.

Such a peaceful & charming place, amazing property from the Tudor style building, oozing history, heritage & character, to the oh so well entertained gardens which make you feel like you are in a painting. Perfect place to relax away from any hustle bustle. Friendly and welcoming staff. The room was spacious with a four post bed which was decorated on the occasion of our wedding anniversary with the best wishes of the Hotel Manager which was deeply appreciated. Totally enjoyed strolling on the creaky floors & stairs, wandering in the gardens both at night & during the day wishing to be lost within the beauty of the premises. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was delightful and gargantuan with so much choice and great service. Covered parking was available for guests and we were so pleasantly surprised to find our car washed and refreshed upon check out. Lovely stay at a stunning property, lovely memories to bring home and cherish...

Unfortunately, the bedding was way to soft to our liking and hard on our backs. Also, could not mix hot and cold water from the shower taps so had to stick to the bathtub itself.

An extraordinary place. In my opinion, Cameron highlands towns are not the place where you can see something interesting. Therefore, the fact that this hotel is far from them is not at all its disadvantage. True, the lake is not very beautiful and is not a suitable place for sightseeing or walks, but the overall view from the hotel is impressive. There is a jungle trail right next to the hotel. This was the most challenging jungle trail of our trip. Just 1.5 km, any experience. I do not recommend it to anyone with mobility issues and it is better not to go with children. If you like adventure - definitely go. We were upgraded to the Foster Suite - it was wow, wow, wow. But you have to climb the up to the hill. We tried the hotel's steam boat for dinner - we really liked it. Breakfast was also good and varied.

The only option for dinner is hotel restaurant. Few places not far away are just terrible.

Great atmosphere, staff go a long way to help, and we're polite and knowledgable. Great touch that they light the log fires at 07:00pm each night, cosy watching the flames with a glass of wine. Tasty breakfast, honeycomb on a dripping rack was a good feature. Our hire car was "refreshed" daily, (great touch).

Late afternoon there were mosquitos around the property, they did not care the sun was shining, wear protection after 16:00. Placed at the start of the Cameron Highlands and a little remote, you either have to take a car or taxi to get further up to find different eateries.

Service by the hotel staff was excellent. Food cooked by the chef was delicious and you could tell the meticulous attention he paid to his dishes. The breakfast was declicious and had a lot of options. Overall, it is a good place to relax for a few days.

There were random visitors who dropped by to take pictures which ruined the ambience as they were pretty noisy. Location was a 20min car ride away from Tanah Rata and a 10min ride away from Ringlet so you will have to call a cab in order to explore those areas.

We like a king bed, not available. Room is very large but bed a little soft and the red chairs in the room smelled funky. The lodge is beautifully decorated and have a lot of areas to sit. Food is good, Manager is especially friendly and a very hard worker.

Unfortunately the Manager advised to leave the hotel at 11am for a 1:42 train in Ipoh, we decided to leave at 1030a because we were worried that was not enough time and we missed our train to Georgetown Penang, cost us $90 US dollars plus the loss of the train tickets to finally get to Georgetown.

The location was scenic, near enough to Tanah Rata but far enough to be quieter and more peaceful. The property exuded old charm and is well maintained throughout and looked to be recently refurbished. Very attentive service from all staff.

The carpets, curtains and cushions would need to be cleaned regularly to ensure a fresh clean smell at all times. We didn’t have any issues but can anticipate this as being one in the future.
