The hotel name on the building is not the same as in here. I kept looking for the hotel for a while while I was literally standing in front of it, it just did not cross my mind that the name would be different.

The fact that there isn't any shower gel that we can use in the shower place.

Super friendly , comfortable and really clean hostel. all needs are met and if i needed anything personal was always helpful 😊 Easy check in/ check out. easy to reach. Restaurant/bar area to get breakfast or to hang out a bit is nice too. lot things to see in walking distance (15-20min) i would come again

Only little downside is that the bathroom and toilet where in one room, and its a whole wetroom area so bring bath sandals because the floor will be wet if you wanna use the bathroom after someone showered . and because toilet and shower in same room its sometimes bit hard to share with many people if the bathrooms taken - i dont know if it was only in this room and is seperate in others. but it was also a shared toilets near our room so in case someone blocked the bathroom for too long still possible to use that one 😁

we had a private room for the both of us, check in was very quick and friendly. the restaurant was nice and the food was great. prices weren’t too bad either for both food and drink. we got fresh towels every days and the cleaner came in everyday to empty bins etc. everyone kept to the low noise rule. security was very good at night on the property not allowing outsiders in after a certain time. it was very central with most bars being within 5-9 min walk away.

there wasn’t anything i could complain about

It is my second time (2004 and 2023) in HB. I always find a very and cheap place to stay. Always gave me what was promised.

The girl on the check-in could be more friendly and less narrowminded. She make feel uncomfortable because I was over 35+. She even assume that was not possible to receive me. Was the first time in my life that I felt older than I am. Someone needs to advice her that 40+ is the new 30!

It was the cheapest option I could find in the city center with a reasonable rating, and it did not disappoint. It actually exceeded my expectations with good breakfast and friendly staff. I’d definitely be back if I return to Amsterdam. I stayed in an all female dorm room and we had a bathroom in the room which was cleaned every day. Very convenient.

Don’t know if it’s the case with every bed, but I couldn’t pull out the storage box under the bed if there was somebody lying on it. I was on the ground floor near reception so I could hear people chatting or partying, but nothing a pair of earplugs couldn’t fix, also it was never late at night. Otherwise everything was ok.

The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided and trash emptied regularly (the maid even accidentally took our towel, likely mistaking it for one of the hostel's since they were both white—no hard feelings, just a funny mix-up!). The storage space was generous, and the building had convenient features like an elevator and modern keypad locks—no cards or keys needed. There’s also a bar connected to the hostel, with a spacious terrace and good deals on beer. The location was ideal: on a quiet street but just a short walk from a lively area full of restaurants, clubs, and bars. Great balance of comfort and accessibility.

The shower was very small, making it easy to accidentally flood the bathroom or turn on the water while trying to dry off due to the faucet's awkward placement. The room itself was also quite small, and the window could only open about 10 cm, which limited airflow.

The property's location is amazing as it is located walking distance to everywhere in Amsterdam. The room was very clean with a great washroom locker and outlet near the bed. The morning breakfast was great sooo worth it in my opinion. The staff at check in and check out were great and very knowledgeable of the city and gave me great recommendations.

I would suggest if they stick to giving people key cards instead of codes because the room alarm would go off every time someone opens the door and It can be annoying at night. Also sometimes the code didn't work. Also I wish they closed the restaurant/bar at 11 PM and there's no area for people to chill downstairs. I would hope if they can keep it open for later.

This is my second time staying in this hostel. The location is perfect, very close to the city center nearby with just walking around 10 minutes. The nearest metro can be reached by 6 mins walk. Also, if you love walking so much, you can reach Amsterdam Central at approximately 30 mins, which is fine by me as I could see Amsterdam thoroughly. This hostel provides you with a fresh towel, linen sheet, and pillow every day. Very recommended.

Just a suggestion, maybe the proportion of mixed dormitory could have a bit balance between male and female guests. To avoid a more dominant gender which is quite awkward if you are the only male/female in the room.
