We were upgraded to the Admunsen room. Its historic charm was not lost on us. The room is huge, comfortable with many windows on two sides. The views were the train station - you could actually see a couple of the tracks - and a nice side street. The side entrance to the station was just in front of the hotel making it extremely easy to reach, and helpful in the constant rain of Bergen. The hotel bar is beautiful and dinner there was very good even with a limited menu. This was completely understandable as it's a bar, not a restaurant. We were tired and didn't want to go out in the rain again. A tram stop on the other side of the station was very convenient. We took the tram to the Stave church. We took a train from the station for a morning trip to the Dale of Norway factory museum and outlet. Though not in the town center, a fifteen minute walk on a lovely street takes you there.. The hotel was also fairly convenient to the Christmas Market. From Bergen we took the Havila ship to Kirkenes. An easy taxi ride took us to the ship terminal. During my stay I saw where other hotels in Bergen were located, but I would choose to stay here again.

Really great looking hotel, totally loved the architecture and interior. Staff was super helpful and friendly. We even got, for to us unknown reasons, an upgrade free of charge. The room was huge and had everything needed and more. For health reason we were able to take our breakfast and dinner in the room without problems. The hotel is also located directly next to the station which makes it idea for people travelling by train. We also had a very nice view on Ulriken. All in all a very positive and nice stay!

The room was a bit cold. Perfect for sleeping but not warm enough when just hanging out. We were only staying for two nights though so we didn’t bother about it much, otherwise I’m sure it would’ve been no problem taking to the staff and asking for a change of temperature :)

A very comfortable and convenient hotel. The breakfast offered a large and delicious variety of options, and the breakfast hall itself had a very atmospheric vibe. The room was spacious and clean. Despite the fact that the windows faced the street with the train station, it was fairly quiet. We traveled during the cool to cold season, but thanks to the self-controlled heating system, we felt very comfortable. The bathroom and toiletries were also excellent with no complaints.

The room was provided with wine and coffee, which had to be paid for separately. And the red wine stood as if it were a gift from the hotel, not a supplement. service. It’s a good thing we didn’t open it, as it cost more than 20 euros. Of course, we know about mini-bars, but such a not obvious moment can spoil someone else’s mood and situation.

The room was nice and cosy. The bathroom had all amenities required for a solo traveller. The hotel also had a bar - where you could enjoy an evening drink and meal. The morning breakfast was excellent. Well situated with train station next to the building and well positioned for daily hikes up the mountains. Would 100% stay here again. Staff were polite and helpful and the hotel also offers free umbrellas to use on Rainy days.

It was a cozy old school looking hotel as you enter. Staff was really helpful The room so nice, bathroom super stylish and modern. Super selection in breakfast buffet. The art around the hotel was joy to see 🙂 Hotel is right across to train terminal and tram stop both ways behind station, great way travel if you wants to visit *Ulriken" Mountain Solid work that they could recommend car parking really close to the hotel, discount for parking a bonus. I came with ferry, tried to search for parking beforehand but homepage for parking options around town wasnt helpful.

Perfect location and very tastefully decorated. Beautiful restaurant and bar with a great variety. The room was a very generous size and was comfortable to relax in during the day as well as the evening. An excellent selection and choice a breakfast that was served for a good length of time. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room as well as a mini fridge was great.

The double bed had two separate mattresses with a gap in the middle meaning that it didn’t feel like my husband and I were sharing a bed. We also had two choices of pillow, very small or very large- an average pillow size would have been good.

There is no doubt that this hotel is grand. It is located right beside the railway station, which is why we booked it. The old world charm is truly lovely and Bar Amundsen was exquisite ... I felt I should have a smoking jacket and whisky! Walls on each level were adorned with interesting art works. The complimentary breakfast was sensational. Not only was the breakfast dining room beautiful, the choice of food and it's presentation was excellent.

Our room was extremely small and the bathroom, though recently renovated, was minuscule ... it certainly lacked the charm and grandeur of the public spaces. It was not what we expected considering how much we paid for the room (almost AU$400) for an economy double room! Definitely an hotel for people with much larger budgets than we had. Considering how close everything in Bergen is, it would have been much more economical to stay in another part of the city and walk to the railway station.

The hotel is right next to the train station and easy walking to the downtown, the harbor area, and other many sites along with having a tram stop very close. The hotel is a neat building from the 1920's with a lot of character. The breakfast buffet if very good, the staff friendly and helpful, everything is clean and the Wi-Fi is good.

The room and the bathroom was on the small size. But that being said, I have stayed here before and I would stay here again as I've always enjoyed staying there.

Loved the location as its just beside the train station, and the monrail to the airport was around the corner, these facilitated our in and out of Bergen. The hotel was just a 8 mins walk to the main shopping area and 15mins to the marina area and it was lovely walk. The breakfast was fantastic with the spread, and set in a Victorian theme dining hall. The room was small but clean and adequate for both us.

The toilet smelled, i solved the problem but flushing the WC with lots of liquid soap but had to do this each time we returned to the room

Super friendly hotel staff, lovely large spotless room so close to everything and walking distance to all the right places. Breakfast was really nice every morning with lots of options, room felt spacious and secure. We had a lovely stay at the hotel, even when it rained they gave out three umbrellas for us all to use for the day, and called us a Taxi to take us back to the hotel which was so much cheaper. Definitely highly rate overall experience.
