Perfect desert camping with magnificent giant sand dune as back drop, inspiring sunrises and sunsets, star-filled sky, absolute silence, and random camels wandering around. We spent 2 nights here so we could experience the desert through the 24-hour cycle. The sleeps were warm and comfy, the meals tasty, and service impeccable from Assad, Joel and Joce. The owner Hamid, is a hardworking 15-year desert tourism veteran, and had lots of tales. Campfire and meal times make for great conversations with other guests. We paid OMR25 for the 25-min return 4x4 transfer from Bidiyah, and OMR10 per person for camel rides and dune bashing, both loads of fun. This is a licensed camp, which uses largely solar power and pumps up water from a 150-metre well.

Authentic nomadic style tents in a secluded area next to a large dune. The location was perfect to watch the sunset and sunrise on the dune but also could you easily drive yourself back to the village near the desert! It was easy to get there as a meeting point at 3pm was arranged and then you could decide if you would like to go by your own car (totally recommend if you have a 4WD) or pay for a pick-up. The owner was super friendly and greeted us with tea/ coffee and snacks and shared some information about Omani traditions. We booked a camel ride for the morning (10 OMR per person) and were picked up (free dune bashing included) to go camel riding at a nearby camp - we loved it, was very much fun! Dinner and breakfast was good as well with many vegetarian options!
Nothing really - very authentic and thus we were fine with cold showers! ;)

We appreciated that the desert camp was very simple (only tents, electricty only in the evening for the main tent). It was superbly located next to a big sand dune. The manager and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Simple, but very good food. The place was easy to find (some 15 km from the main road) because the son of the manager expected us at the office at the main road who lead us to the camp (that we reached without any problems with a SUV without 4x4). We booked a breathtaking one-hour-tour with a 4x4 car through the sand desert at sunrise.
Everything was excellent.

I spent two weeks in Oman but definitely this was the highlight of the trip. We were picked up by the owner from Al Wusta (as we didn't have a 4x4) and he drove us to the camp. There was only one group of friends and the rest of the camp was empty, which was nice as we chose this specific camp to relax and disconnect. Nice activities were offered (other guys did the dune bashing). The owner spent a really long time talking to us - he was the nicest person in the already very friendly country. The staff working there was very polite and helpful. Food options (including vegetarian!) were amazing, for the desert I think it was almost luxurious. I will always recommend this camp to everyone, it was really nice and peaceful. This camp is a gem of Wahiba Sands. And the tallest dune is located right next to the camp, which is a must to climb (although exhausting). The sunset was beautiful. The owner really cares about his business and the guest, as well as his staff.

The owner is a very humble and kind person. Booked two nights with bed/breakfast and dinner. It is genuinely a basic infrastructure, that is what is caters for. If you like the basic style, top. If you want luxury and air-con, book one which offers it. This retreat lives up to its name. The employees incredibly friendly. Having a shower under the stars, wonderful. Walk up the dune to view, sunset or sunrise. No artificial light at night, roaming camels. We booked a day tour drive through the Wahiba Sands desert to the Indian ocean with the owner (self-drive). This was fantastic if you love the desert, driving in sand, dunes and a superb meal of king-fish biryani. It is a long day, but believe me worth every penny and second.

Wow, this place is so worth the trip! The owner of the camp is very kind and welcoming, and makes you feel comfortable upon arrival. To get to the camp, you have the option of following the owner in your own 4x4 (we drove in ours and it was easy, with no prior dessert driving experience) or you can pay for a ride there. We did the 20 minute camel ride and it was the perfect length. Breakfast and dinner were really amazing, exceeded our expectations. They made a campfire for us, which we enjoyed with some mint tea while we stargazed. It’s really fun to climb the big dune behind the camp for sunset, but it’s a lot of exercise! Beautiful view. Definitely recommend this camp.

The owner was very kind. He even had dinner with us and told us interesting stories about the Omanies and their culture. Also the staff was very friendly. The tents were great & clean and next to the camp was a big dune where we were able to see lovely sunsets and sunrises. We would definitely come here again and can highly recommend this camp.

Exceptional staff and resort, Though it is really simple, this was what we were looking for. Local tents, local food and enjoying a night in the dessert. It was great to share time with the owner. The staff looked after us very kindly.
suggest some larger tents where to accommodate a group of people travelling together

Great experience in the dessert! Nice and friendly staff and very convenient meeting point at their office at the gas station. Good food and a lovely view from the sand dune
The sand dune is very high and the climb is not that easy, maybe walk a bit further away from the camp and go up there. One of the camps that is further away from town, but has still some light disturbance at night.

The camp is a gem and a very authentic stay in the desert. No electricity and comfortable basic beduin tents with perfect Omani hospitality. Have been several times and will for sure be back soon.
I loved everything and it was exactly what I was looking for.
