-staff are friendly, polite and on hand to help -can easily drive through the desert to the camp if you have your own 4x4. If you don't, the camp can pick you up for a fee (32 riyal return for a car that fits 4 people) -food on offer is very good and has a decent amount of variety -cinema is great. They put on a kids movie and then an adults movie (not p*rn!). On our night they played The Jungle Book and then Johnny English -they also offer popcorn, water, coffee and even karak chai for the cinema -camp is next to a big dune that you can climb for sunset/sunrise. They have fitted a rope to help you climb it. There are sleds on offer to slide down, but they don't work very well

-bathroom fan didn't work, one of the plug points didn't work and the sink leaked. Crazy to complain about such luxuries when you're in the desert, but at the same time the camp is expensive so I would expect things to work -the activities on offer (quad biking, camel riding, dune bashing etc) are very expensive -dinner is 7-9pm and breakfast is 7-9am. Be there in good time as the staff start packing up much earlier. It's as if they want everything cleaned up by 9 -there are a lot of lights around the camp and they don't turn off for security reasons, so if you are an astronomy enthusiast, you won't see a starry sky as it never gets dark enough

everything was really good, exceptional level of service, cinema on the desert

the price for transport from gas stadion to the camp is really high, not proportional to the cost of accomodation or overall cost in Oman. it is also impossible to share the transport with other people even tho the car is for 4 people and we wanted to adjust arrival time.

Everything is just perfect. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, the buffet dinner and breakfast very good also. Open air cinema is an amazing experience. But the most important thing: The people that work there, from reception, to breakfast/dinner, everyone is so nice, amazing people. We did a sunset ride totally worth it, the car had to change a flat tire, that took no more than 5 minutes and gave us extra time in the desert, we didn’t mention it to the hotel cause why would anyone complain about extra time with amazing views? :) And the driver told the hotel that kept on apologizing, when to me there was nothing to apologize for :). Seriously all the people that work in the hotel are simply the best and the people that do the pickup/drop off + the activities are so so so nice ❤️ I cannot understand the complaints in other reviews, at the end of the say you see the world and experiences depending on who you are as a person. If all you look for is complaints you will find them, if you appreciate things you will see the good instead. Of course they charge to get us to the camp if we don’t have a 4x4, it’s not 5 minutes away, they still have to drive a bit, it’s a camp in the middle of the desert people!!! They inform you of that, the people that pick us are super nice. Not even gonna comment the rest of the non sense in the commentary’s. Appreciate life more and cherish the hospitality of the amazing people that work in this place! Thank you everyone ❤️

Amazing spot. Lovely set up and great for our family of 4. Food was great- I'm not sure why some people in the reviews are complaining. It's easy enough to get to from the highway- let tyres down at the tyre repair shop on the sliproad before entering Al Wasil township and keep going. The climb up the dunes behind the camp was great- took about 10mins max to get to the top and we did it a few times to get the 4yo to burn off energy. The outdoor movies were great too- one children's movie at 6pm and an adult selection at 8pm. We also did the camel ride and a 4WD up the dunes so we could take our 10mo up with us. It was all fantastic. The 4yo is still talking about how he misses the desert

The dust everywhere, but obviously that's unavoidable!

Best holiday ever‼️ Highly recommended for those wanting to experience dessert living but surrounded by comfort. From the moment we stepped in staff were warm, friendly and very attentive. Buffer breakfast was relatively good and dinner included camel meat and chicken barbeque (wish there was seafood). Gorgeous sunrise and sunset is easily accesible but you will need to climb, climb, climb the soft cool dune located behind the resort. MUST activities is the 4WD dune bashing, self drive ATV dune drifting (not for the faint hearted) and open movie watching alongside night star gazing by the bonfires.

Wish the toilets were more aesthetically pleasing but very basic. Served its purpose and clean

The camp is only 10 km from the main road, so it's easier to get to than other ones that are much deeper into the desert. Having said that, we are glad we paid the camp driver to come and take us from the nearby petrol station, we would not have found it by ourselves. We managed to return without a guide, following the instructions they gave us. We rented the sultan's tent, which was spacious and had a private bathroom with a shower, a fridge and a kettle. The camp itself was simple but nice, and the buffet breakfast and dinner were pretty decent, with many vegetarian options for us. The live music during (part of) dinner was a nice touch, with local musicians and instruments. They also had set up a screen to watch movies, which we quite enjoyed as well.

There was a faint smell in the shower, perhaps from the humidity, not strong but not pleasant either. The organised activities were very expensive

This is one of the last camps on the road and therefore more isolated from all the others along the way,and very nice. Everything well decorated in local style, very comfortable and super clean. Food at dinner and breakfast was very good and abundant. The camp is at the foot of the dune that can be climbed anytime with the help of a rope use as a hand rail. The whole site is beautiful. We stayed in the tents but took a peak in the small houses and the area was beautifully arranged too, with lots of space for family gathering and small children. Also very safe: no bugs, no hassle, no restrictions to go anywhere. We took the car after dinner to have a little drive away from the lights to watch the stars without a problem. The locals are also very nice: a car stopped to help us deflate the tyres when we got stuck on the way to the hotel. The dune bashing (organized by the hotel) for 1 hour is totally worth it, drivers are very careful and take you to nice view points. Camel ride is a bit expensive though. Walks are free :) I would suggest water fountains to refill own bottles as lots of plastic bottles are used for drinking water. All in all, an excellent experience!

A little bit on the expensive side for the accomodation but it was very nice. Camel ride also expensive. I would suggest water fountains to refill own bottles as lots of plastic bottles are used for drinking water.

-+The staff is very nice and helpful. + The chalet was simple but super clean, with an authentic vibe. + They helped us get there with the driver (since we didn’t have a 4WD); this was paid additionally at the hotel. + The location is really great – close to a big dune (there’s a path you can climb to the top of it, and they also offer a sand saucer for sliding). + They offer a nice breakfast and dinner (with a grill) with a variety of food. + In the evening, they have a cinema – first for kids, then for adults, with popcorn. Great fun for families. + The camels are behind a fence, and you can ride them for an additional fee. + It is a big camp, although it was not crowded

Beautiful desert camp!! It had fantastic facilities, including an outdoor cinema, and the food was great! Khalid was also a fantastic guide, and Nasser took us on a lovely sunset camel ride, and introduced us to the desert lizards!

The staff at the camp itself were a bit prickly, and made it challenging to request something as simple as our beds being set up as twin beds (as we had requested in advance) instead of a double (as the room was set up when we arrived). Additionally, we were told that the sunset camel ride we had booked via Booking.com in advance was in fact not booked for us as they do not take any requests via booking.com (which was weird since they specifically asked if we wanted to book the sunset camel ride in their messages). Either way they organised it when we got there so it all worked out, but communication should have been clearer, and the staff more polite. Additionally, the beds are akin to sleeping on a slab of stone, they are very very firm and not at all comfortable.

The food was good. The location is great. For families, this is the perfect place. They played live arabic music during the dinner. The houses has a very cool design and layout.

The price of the activities and pick-up are close to being disrespectful. The houses are very close to each other. There is a lot of noise from the ATV's outside the camp. There is so much light from the camp that you won't see the stars. The beds are so short that your feet will be hanging outside the bed if you're a average European. This isn't the best place to go if you expect 100% relaxation, but you will for sure have a comfortable stay in the desert - and especially for those having children. It is a very good camp and a good place to breath in some arabic heritage.
