Good location and breakfast was good. The room was a good size with fans.

There was no on-site parking and no instruction given on where the parking was. We found a parking lot about 8 minutes walk away. There was also no early check out option. We left the key in the room and messaged them as there was no staff on. I didn't get a reply on booking.com. Also for several months before attending the location I received a number of fraudulent scam emails from this hotel. It is likely that their internet systems are dodgy and have been hacked. Be careful of any electronic chat messages from this place. I also messaged to confirm my booking and got no reply. There was no tea or coffee in the room and the breakfast was at 8:30am which was too late for us.

Perfect location in the middle of Kilkenny. We are a family of four and to find a room with accomodations for all four of us for a reasonable price was difficult but The Rafter's was perfect. We ate dinner and breakfast there with the breafast being included in the room. Full Irish breakfast + regular continental style offerings were an excellent way to start the day.

The room was warm. There was a fan but it didn't help much. We would have liked to put it in the window but the outlets were at weird places so it wouldn't reach and there wasn't anything to set it on anyway.

Top class service from Gerry and all the staff at The Rafters! Checked in a group of 21 golfers for the weekend and was very professional with the whole process!! Gerry had the crack with the group and joined in the jokes and laughing was plenty the whole weekend!! Gorgeous breakfast 2 mornings, set us up for the day of golf!! Rooms were spotless and exactly what we needed for a big group right in the center of town!! Walking distance to all the pubs and restaurants in the area!! Will definitely re-visit!! Thanks to Gerry and all the staff from ''The Oakwood Hotel Golf Society' 'Clare lads!!

Showers were a tight fit for some of our bigger lads!! But done the job!!

"Rafters Gastro Pub in Kilkenny was the shining star of our two-week visit to Ireland. Nestled in a superb location, this charming establishment offers a cozy atmosphere that instantly captivates. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in warmth and hospitality. A special shoutout goes to Damian, the manager and barman extraordinaire, whose welcoming demeanor and attentive service made our experience truly exceptional. He not only ensured that our drinks never ran dry but also went above and beyond to make us feel like cherished guests. The pub and restaurant exude a delightful ambiance, perfect for unwinding and indulging in delicious food and drinks. Whether enjoying a pint by the fire or savoring a gourmet meal, every moment spent at Rafters was sheer bliss. In conclusion, Rafters Gastro Pub is a gem in the heart of Kilkenny, offering an unforgettable dining experience that exceeded all expectations. Our heartfelt thanks to Damian and the entire team for making our stay truly fantastic. We can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories at Rafters."

Good location ( parking nearby for approx 15E for overnight stay ), friendly staff. Room was clean and quite comfy. Typical size for Irish B&B, not built for tall or overweight people. In comparison with other B&B toilet and shower was a good size. Very good breakfast. For meat lovers absolutely need to try is Rafter's sizzling steak. I would come back just for that. Also live music is a plus. All in all it was a very good experience and recommend for one night stay.

Kilkenny is a beautiful city with loads of history. The Rafter's Pub is very central; so easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast was included - I had a full Irish breakfast plus there are extra buffet items (cereals, juice, muffins, etc) The room was good with an ensuite bathroom. There is wifi. There is no free parking at the pub; so you have to "pay and display" about 100 yds away (free between 7pm and 8am; and pay by the hour or Euro 5 buys an all day ticket). We walked everywhere - and there is a lot of history between the pubs, cathedrals, abbeys and castle. Loads of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops for food.

We had a Queen bed plus single for two of us. A King bed would have been better

The staff were really lovely, the room was great as was the breakfast. The location is right in the middle of Kilkenny and a short walk from almost everything. I would definitely stay there again.

The only thing that detracted a little from the experience was that the room was right by a beer garden and there was a little extra noise. But it wasn't a lot of noise and it did stop at roughly 10.30pm, which is before the quiet hours that they have advertised.

The location of Rafter's Gastropub to the 'night-life' and 'sites' of Kilkenny was brilliant; everything was withing a short walk.. Front of house welcome by Becky was exceptional. Her attention to detail continued during our stay. This included recommending moving our car from an expensive car-park to one offering much better value. Food was very good and, during our stay, the menu changed daily. Breakfast was delicious with good choice of hot and cold dishes... or both! Our room was extremely spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely book Rafter's Gastropub again if we stay in Kilkenny.

Better room ventilation: It was very warm during our stay so our room became very warm as the window didn't open very far.

Every member of staff was really friendly and helpful. The location was perfect- right in the centre and close to everything. The breakfast which was included was tasty. We had a choice of cooked breakfasts, plus there were scones, cereals, fruit and yoghurt which we could help ourselves to.

There were only a couple of small things that weren't perfect. There was no hairdryer in the rooms and the bathroom was a little dated. However, considering the good value of our stay these things were not a deal breaker.
