This is my 2nd time staying in this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel so close to the main street. The leisure center is really nice . Decent pool , Jacuzzi, sauna , steam room. The room is soundproofed so very quiet. Even though it's on a main street irs so quiet .spotless hotel room. Bed very comfy , more channels then the standard saor view ones in most hotels . Staff very nice . Plenty of tea / coffee , towels , toiletries

The pillows were really uncomfortable. Although they weren't too soft or too hard they were just impossible to get comfortable on . The room was extremely hot even with the windows open and the large standing fan on the room was still so hot . The handle on the bath was a bit loose and rusty.

Breakfast area well managed. Sometimes waiting before entering as not sufficient free tables which is surprising when compared to many other hotels but this minor is compensated largely by the breakfast management: lovely lady at the breakfast area who is on top of everything: tables, needs of customers, workforce under her lead. Nobody can sleep under her watch. She communicates kindly to the staff in my opinion so it works. Congrats!!! Also hot buffet is managed perfectly. One staff member is distributing the food for all so no waste of time and no spillage or non hygienic acts of some of customers. Nobody touches anything. Thank you hotel management. Also surprisingly the hotel manager is helping the breakfast service as a real college. He knows what is going on in his hotel. Please only check the way personnel is cleaning the tables as some have the habit to put salt and pepper recipients, milk … on the chair while spraying the table surface with cleaning products and then wipe it. The spraying is without any doubt contaminating the pepper, salt etc which is just next to the table. Parking just in front of hotel and not so expensive with hotel discount.

The spraying of the tables is inadequate.

Nice rooms looked to be recently done up

Rooms and access were poorly cleaned. Needs the supervision of supervisor as skirting boards in room and corridors were very dirty as were the lift. Breakfast was a disaster as apart from having no room we waited approximately 20 mins and were called in. Again no idea of modus operandi as tea was not put on table until we were almost finished and I went looking. Only one toaster which was the source of long queues. Decided to go out for breakfast on second morning and also influenced our decision not to use the restaurant which we usually used on previous visits.

The location is wonderful. So easy to get to everything....Walking You do have to park in the car park across the way which means you have to lug your luggage as the hotel only had one luggage trolly. The manager was great he did get our luggage and took it to our room. So thank you.

The breakfast service was ok but I did not like... I wanted morning coffee and room coffee stinks. So I went down to the lobby no coffee had to go into the breakfast room. There was a bus full of tourist there and me waiting 20 mins just for a cup of coffee was crazy. I got the cup and the coffee machine was not working. it was out of milk so I had to wait longer.

Location is brilliant, it is close to everything. Hotel itself is lovely and our room was very nice. Big mirrors and well lit which many hotels lack. Shower was good. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast.

Check in time was 16:00 which is later than most. However staff took our bags and we were able to have a drink in the lounge area while we waited. Car parking is across the road in a multistory carpark which is not surprising for a city centre hotel, but it was bit more effort to bring luggage over. Hotel have an arrangement with the carpark regarding payment. A couple of bits in the bathroom could be fixed up a little, eg grout missing, chips on tiles, damaged toilet roll holder. But overall was clean and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was very busy but this was flagged to be the case in advance and the staff managed the queues for the tables.

The venue proved to be favorable for our stay. My son, aged 12, and I stayed there as he was attending a chess competition at this location. On Saturday morning, I had an early departure to Dublin for a scheduled meeting, necessitating my son to manage his own breakfast in my absence. Upon my return around midday, I was pleased to learn that Rachel, responsible for the breakfast area, exhibited commendable care and assistance towards my son. I am grateful for her attentive service, and my son's positive feedback further underscores her exceptional efforts. I extend my sincere appreciation to Rachel for her outstanding work. Additionally, I found the gym facilities and swimming pool to be of commendable quality.

Very comfortable and fairly spacious with nice bathroom. Staff professional and friendly. Location very convenient to the castle with it's wonderful grounds, and not too far from rail station. Everything you require is a short walk away. Check out vendors on the walk near Kilkenny Castle (book online for that). Medieval Mile museum is also very informative and worth an hour or so visit (hint: get a coupon for that at the tea room when you visit the castle). Got some good food, drink and music at Matt the Millers, a short walk down to the bridge. Also enjoyed sitting out for a drink on the patio by the river at Kilkenny River Court Hotel. For a good lunch, try The Fig Tree Restaurant - classic setup with narrow store front and two or three levels of dining. The food was very good, including Caesar salad with vegetable protein goujons.

I like using stairs instead of elevator. Setup for stairs in the hotel a bit odd if you are on second floor or above. Have to switch from one stairway to another to keep going.

It was right in the heart of everything, it was our first time in Kilkenny. Breakfast was lovely.

What a mess dropping off our people. It would have been nice if assistance was offered. We had been excited about using the pool, but the hours were fairly short and it was hard to make it over there after dinner. But we tried, only to find out it was across the street and not even in the hotel. The prospect of having to shuffle across the street in our suits, wet after an evening swim was disappointing. A group of ladies moving about town at night in their wet suits in a foreign city was too much. I wish it was mentioned on the booking site. If it was I apologize in advance, as I missed it.

Staff were all lovely. We got a lovely welcome, and our room was ready early which was an added bonus. In particular the breakfast supervisor, and waitress Olivia were really nice. They were so friendly and very attentive. Food was nice too. Leisure centre pool was big, and very clean . The changing rooms were spotless, the lady cleaning them never stopped. Girls on leisure Centre reception were very friendly too. Room 315 at end of corridor, so no passing traffic which was good. Room good size.

Bed was comfortable except it dipped a little in the middle. The air freshener in the corridor is very overpowering. No need for it in my opinion, as windows at the end of the corridor are open.

Located centrally this is a great place to stay if you intend to walk around the town. The room was large enough and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I booked this hotel as when searching accommodation in the town it stated it had parking available. What it didn't state is that it is paid parking in a car park across the road. When we arrived there was a bus in a loading zone which I parked behind. The lady at reception said I had to move it as there was more tour busses arriving. When I advised her that I wanted to unload as the car park was across the road and I would have to traverse a number of floors and the road with our luggage she became flummoxed and tried to convince me to move asap. If there is no car park then there needs to be a loading bay to allow guests to unload their luggage and this needs to be communicated in the booking particularly considering the cost of the booking.
