Everything was fine. However, on previous occasions we've stayed in much bigger rooms. Last time and this time given a small room on the ground floor when staying for 2+ nights between a wife and husband. The location great, the bar/food great, staff were perfect though!

The room wasn't what we've experienced before in previous stays. There was no way to upgrade because we would have done at extra cost. Also we paid for breakfast....on the table at dinner, there were menus offering some really nice things (at the same cost as a normal breakfast). We were looking forward to it but were given a menu that was completely different. We almost left completely everything because it wasn't nice. We didn't even bother the 2nd morning. Then realising because both my wife and I are HM Forces we'd have got 20% off without looking. Will book straight from the hotel from now on.

Molly on reception was so welcoming despite the late hour of booking and check in. Room decor was nice

Little damaged around the bath, and USB plugs don't work beside bed

Room was very quiet, clean and well equipped.

The electric sockets in our room tripped off, I couldn't charge my phone, watch TV or boil the kettle. Staff were rushed of their feet as the night porter had not turned up for their shift. Molly had to cover the night shift after doing a 17 hour day shift, and stayed to do her Saturday 12 hour shift. Molly was very proffessional and to tried and sort out my electrical issue. However, we were due to leave the hotel. Molly and the Scottish guy were amazing throughout our stay and should be praised by the managment, a credit to your company.

It was a good place to stop for an overnight stay as we were going to our sons 40th birthday party, which was just a few minutes down the road from the hotel. The room was clean and tidy, as was the toilet. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room as well as the usual hair dryer and iron. So all positive. The receptionist was pleasant and quickly booked us into our room. As we were eating and drinking at our sons, we couldn't comment on the bar facilities at the hotel as we didn't use it that night.

In the morning, we were booked in for breakfast. Part of the hotel was reserved for guests for breakfast. We were shown to our table by a pleasant young lady who explained what was available and would give us a little time to decide what we were going to have. At this point, we noticed that the chair covers which were covered in fabric, were severely stained and grubby, so much so that I had to find one which was covered in a leather look material which was cleaner. Looking around the hotel bar area it was much the same, and it could do with a really good professional clean and sprucing up. Overall, the breakfast was good, as was the service. The cleanliness of the downstairs bar and resteraunt area is letting it down.

The room was comfortable, but most important the staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. They were seemingly very happy, and everything you would want.

The main pub was looking a tad tired. Quite a few chairs were getting tatty. I mentioned at least three times that there was no handcsoap in the gents. This was eventually corrected. I pointed out quite few cobwebs around the breakfast area, this wasn't dealt with and the excuse that they were jn the middle of a deep clean never held stock with me. Apart from term to minor issues we were well looked after.

The staff were exceptionally welcome and my 6 year old son loved how engaging they were and how much time they gave him for conversation. He has ADHD and can be a bit much for the average person but there was a lady who helped with the booking who was brilliant and gave him all the time he wanted from her. She even gave him the option of having his own bed or bunk with his dad. Food was amazing and my son fell in love with his adult breakfast (breakfast wrap). Thank you and don't change.

Nothing.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The location is spot on for our particular journey down to London from the borders even though the A1 has major roadwork here. The menu in the bar restaurant is always inviting.

Unfortunately the window in our room doesn't open (room 10) and we had reported this back in the summer when it was particularly hot outside but it hadn't been fixed since then.

Hotel host was lovely, really accommodating and let us check in early as our room was ready. Friendly and helpful during our stay. Room was excellent value for money! Lovely, modern and clean! Bed was comfy too! Housekeeping staff were kind and welcoming too, very professional.

There was nothing I didn't like..if there was one suggestion, I would say the room keyring was a little big and bulky with it not being card entry! No big deal really!

I was on an adventure - to cycle, solo, across the width of Britain. This was one of the 12 accommodations that I stayed in along the journey. The lady at reception was friendly and made sure that I had a room on the ground floor. She also helped me by storing my bicycle in a room that was out of order to keep it safe and secure. The food was okay, nothing to right home about. I was only staying here because it was on my way during my journey.

The food was average and the breakfast was explained well so people didn't know where to go or how to order.
