It is a lovely hotel overlooking the valley and, for us, a good location from which to visit family in Wakefield. The room was a good size and had everything you need for a short stay, one night in our case. The staff were really helpful when I had problems getting my phone to link to the Wi-Fi. The buffet style breakfast had a good choice of cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurts and hot food.

I didn't realise when booking, the Hotel is a wedding and function venue. There was both a wedding and company bash going on the night we stayed. At reception they told us both would be finished by midnight, and they were. Sadly, our room was over the top of the function room, so no sleep until midnight. That said, I would definitely stay here again as it's a lovely hotel and good value for money.

So a short notice booking to see someone in the local hospital. Arrived by motorcycle after a long days ride and..... I'd got the date wrong on the booking (24hrs later). I thought that was us scuppered as there was a wedding taking part. However, the receptionist was brilliant, no grumpiness, just smiles and a bit of laughter at my expense :-) Soon was all sorted, an executive room and at the same price that Booking.com had originally charged. The room was a bungalow type build, very large with a veranda and chairs and a beautiful view. Same for the restaurant, we didn't book because we were'nt certain when we would be back from the hospital. When we went in, no problem Sir! and the service was so friendly by all three of the staff who were also looking after a busy dining room with several birthday groups. Would not hesitate to return!

The staff were very friendly and considerate of my needs, going as far as to change rooms so that I wouldn't have to navigate the stairs as I'm a wheelchair user. The food was absolutely fantastic; the evening meal was delightful and the staff were happy to adjust the volume if we found it too loud. Housekeeping were respectable, friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean, quiet, and had the most beautiful view. A fan was also provided which helped with the heat. A stunning property with incredible picturesque grounds and fantastic wildlife. My favourite part absolutely has to be the tree in the front of the hotel - it's absolutely beautiful and unique!

There is only one hot breakfast option, which is the full English, but there is the option for toast/cereal too. There is no lift at this property as it is an older building but we were able to exchange rooms for the ground floor bungalows which were very spacious and comfortable. There are bright lights outside of the bungalow which can be bothersome without curtains drawn or if out on the patio late, but the curtains are blackout and cover the light well and it adds extra security to the car park. The only disappointment I had was the lack of wheelchair access (unless across grass) to the tree at the front of the hotel!

Room was comfort able and well equipped. Good Bath and Shower . Breakfast was superb ,with the excellent Amy ensuring we had everything we wanted. The evening meal was huge ,actually too much and of good quality. Excellent venue with friendly and caring Staff. Excellent location for our event (Cross Country) at the Racecourse.

The Towel rail in the room didnt work. It wasnt clear that this was a busy Wedding and Funeral venue, including a noisy evening function although we were warned the day before and the party kept the noise down as much as they could beneath our room. The music was meant to stop at midnight and it did on the dot.

The Hotel was great looking, and the staff were extremely friendly. Lovely location

Breakfasts were a little disappointing, and we were not aware at booking that the hotel was a venue for entertainment, on the first night there was a Billy Ocean tribute act on and the noise in our room was really loud and it went on until 1am , Though the owner did ask us if we would like to attend a Frank Sinatra tribute act as he found out it was our 43rd Anniversary. A lovely gesture.

Friendly welcome, warm, spacious comfortable rooms. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous views. Easy to get a table in the restaurant. Friendly service and really goid food.

The music from the wedding could be heard clearly in the room. It had great vibes and everyone was clearly having a great time which is really lovely. I fell asleep easily listening to it and slept right through. Just take note that there are rooms outside of the main building so if you don't sleep through anything then choose one of those.

Lovely, spacious room. Excellent breakfast.

The bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle was minute! A little more planning when fitted could have facilitated a bigger shower and more spacious bathroom without compromising the size of the room itself. Why do hoteliers scrimp on bathrooms? Noise from a wedding 'do' on our final night! Surely some consideration could be given to putting the wedding guests above the function room and other guests away from it? Or is that too difficult? It was a rather upsetting end to what was an excellent five night stay!

Quiet, spacious accommodation, clean, comfortable and pleasing to be in. The did is excellent and the hotel has wonderful grounds with any number of sitting area among lovely gardens.

I have nit-pick here, but our shower (bungalow No. 29) was not particularly good. The door design made it alomst impossible to avoid flooding the floor, worsened by having no angle adjustment. The shower head was not in the best of order!

We had a chalet room. Large room with sofa & writing desk, small patio, and so quiet. Full English breakfast, absolutely delicious...kudos to the chef 😊 Beautiful park like grounds kept immaculate. Predominately Friendly & helpful staff a real credit to the place. They also have regular dinner shows at very reasonable prices. We've been travelling around Europe for 6 weeks & would definitely put the Kings Croft at the top of the accommodation list 🤩

Very helpful reception and restaurant/bar staff. Comfortable and very clean bedrooms with well-stocked tea/coffee tray. As a top wedding venue in this area the staff are an important part of a well-run and successful business. It has huge attractive grounds which provide pleasant seating areas with full bar service on nice sunny days and well designed areas for the many weddings. Plenty of guest parking. Fascinating people- watching at the weddings. Great fun!

As one of the busiest wedding venues in the area dont expect a quiet peaceful hotel. The breakfast buffet or breakfast service is a perfectly adequate English breakfast, but only sliced white and brown bread - a wider range of fresh breads, pastries, fruit, with ham and cheeses would be nice for those not wanting a hot breakfast. Plenty of guest parking except on days when there are three weddings!
