The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station approx 1 minute ,which was excellent for us as we used La Spezia as a base to visit Cinque Terre, Portofino etc so used the train every day. It was also however within walking distance to the town, shopping area etc and the Ferry port. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent ,a great choice of cold meats, pastries etc, hot items , bacon, eggs etc and freshly made pancakes fabulous. Very clean and gave the option of reusing the towels which I always think it a little step towards helping the environment. Couldn’t fault this hotel and would definitely use again if in La Spezia. La Spezia by the way is a nice little town with loads of great restaurants so always came there at night to eat.

Nothing really. Would have been good to have a mosquito plug in bedroom like we had in Florence hotel as my husband and I got quite badly bitten during the night. We did ask if they had one but unfortunately not. Will remember to carry one ourselves in future !!

We were upgraded to a newly refurbished room (166). Lovely and spacious, comfortable beds, very large bathroom. Exceptionally clean everywhere. The breakfast was excellent - a wide variety of hot and cold food. Very good service in a beautufully appointed breakfast room. The bar is very modern with very helpful staff and a great selection of drinks to choose from. The hotel's location is a just down from the train station, which is ideal for visiting all the villages in the Cinque Terre. The reception staff were very helpful. We emailed them prior to our visit, where they recommended an amazing boat ride (seeing the Cinque Terre by sea, was stunning) and helped with bus info to visit the beautiful Porte Venere (a must for dinner and drinks at sunset) We definitely would highly recommend this lovely hotel and are going to visit again!

Excellent location near station (but no station noise) and just a few minutes stroll to main shopping /restaurant area. High quality hotel, hard to fault room design and fittings and exceptionally clean throughout. Free bike hire available. Excellent breakfast buffet and high quality restaurant/ terrace bar for evening drinks or dinner.

On some days, breakfast buffet was slow to be replaced so choice was limited if in a rush to get out.

The hotel is very nice. The location is very close to the train station and the hotel was very quiet. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms/shower was amazing. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops in La Spezia and walking distance to the harbor. This was one of the nicer hotels that we stayed at during our trip to Italy where we stayed in Rome, Florence, Venice, and La Spezia. I highly recommend this hotel for the comfort and value. Also this is a great place to stay if you are planning on visiting Cinque Terre. You can buy a daily train pass for the trail and train trips between the towns.

Nothing this hotel was very nice!

The room was nice and comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped but it's Europe, so to be expected. The buffet breakfast was very good. The location is great, right across the street just a few steps down from the train station. The hotel is also not far from a very enjoyable town square area that has restaurants. The price of the room was good too. I wish we had stayed there in La Spezia instead of staying in Monterosso.

A regular door on the bathroom. It had a sliding door but it was not a big deal.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing. You're steps from the train station to many locations including Cinqua Terre. We had a rental car and the hotel has a private garage which is conveniently located next to the hotel on a lower level street. (The parking garage near the hotel was fully booked and car were waiting every time we passed for others to leave outside. Stay at the hotel and enjoy a beautiful paddling garage and experience) The bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable, liquor and wine selection were great and worth visiting. The location is perfect for restaurants and convenience. A pharmacy is steps away and a high end steak house recommended by the staff is so close. The room was very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely return here on my next trip. Thank you!!!

This was the best stay we've had in 10 hotels so far. The staff were friendly, the hotel was beautiful and clean, the rooms were spacious and warm and the bathrooms were well designed. The location is perfect to access both the train station and the centre of town. The breakfast buffet was a lovely mixed spread with an a la carte option if you wanted, and the hostess made lovely coffee.

The location very near to the Central Station was excellent for our requirements. The breakfast was superb with a great variety of dishes to suit all tastes. We do use the Terminus Cafe for dinner one evening. The service was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We booked 2 rooms, each had a different layout and the standard was as we expected.

There was nothing at this hotel to dislike.

This was one of my favourite hotels on our trip. Everything was modern, clean, had the wow factor in my opinion. Breakfast was plentiful buffet style with so much choice. 2 min walk to the train station. Approx 20 min walk to the waterfront. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Had a drink in the hotel bar. We chose this hotel as so close to the train station for accessing the Cinque Terre towns.

Location near the station, but not dominated by it, was excellent. The decor was to a very high standard. Lovely breakfast with an excellent choice. The bar, which was more like a cocktail lounge was very good. We didn't eat there but the menu looked good. We enjoyed jazz there on our 2nd night.

The bedroom itself was rather small but perfectly fine and nicely decorated. I'm sure there are larger available ones for a premium so it's not really a negative!
