Had a very nice stay while we explored Cinque Terra. Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The location next to the train station was ideal for us and we never heard any noise from it so that was really good. Breakfast was small and across the street but we enjoy European Danishes which where excellent. They also helped with a parking spot which I was happy to pay for.

We had a rental car and drove there. Google maps lead us to the wrong location. I was able to contact the hotel and they were very helpful with getting us there. Even met us on the street so we didn't miss them.

The hotel was as described, nice clean room, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices, including a warm section of scrambled eggs and bacon. Many different meats, cheeses, bakery goods and coffee options were available. Nice clean breakfast/dinner area. We had our first day dinner at the hotel, wonderful dishes and an amazing chef choice option, which is different each day. Great location and easy to walk to downtown and the train station. They do provide a free shuttle service for when you arrive and leave to help pack out your stuff. The room was clean, with a nice size bathroom and the beds were comfortable. From the deck, if walk to the right and look to left you can see the Matterhorn...Bonus!

it's proximity to the train station because we were planning on going on day trips to Cinque Terre. The air conditioning was great (not many places actually have air conditioning that goes below 75 degrees F. This was perfect for the high summer temperatures. There was someone at the host desk all the time during the day so we were helped promptly when there was a problem. Martina and Ilaria were amazing but they all were nice, helpful, and efficient. The rooms were just the right size for what we intended.. only to sleep at night. We didn't need a large sitting room so it was perfect. Also, just as other reviews state "you can NOT hear the trains" even if you are actually in the train station. We had a fan going along with the air so maybe that white noise blocked out the low hum which you had to strain to hear. I couldn't believe that part. They gave you a coupon to get your breakfast of "a coffee and croissant (brioche feuilletee)" which was actually amazing. It is about a 2 min walk across the square and down the steps at the Cafe Mercedes. (owner's name is Mercedes she is great and the helper was Alfredo but called billy!" beds were super comfortable compared to others we slept in. best location

This is not a "dislike" but when you GPS it, it sends you down the street. The directions say "As soon as you leave the train station go to your left and it will be by the little bar/burger place. " However there are TWO ways to leave the train station and we came out on the one to the left so we went the wrong way. (It was to the right) If you come out of the MAIN terminal entrance it is to the left, but if you come out the other one, to the right. I took some pictures because I never found a single one in all the reviews, AND that would have been most helpful!!! It is honestly less than a 1-minute walk to the train station because it is IN THE train station.

Affittacamere Casa Dane' is in a excellent location, right at the train station, above the platforms. This is very convenient for visiting the Cinque Terre, it is easy to catch an early train and return late in the evening because you do not have to walk far to get to your room. It is also convenient for buying train tickets or passes. The room was well appointed and although we looked out over the station platforms it was not noisy. The person who checked us in was very nice and helped us with our luggage as there is no elevator. It is an easy walk to the cafe where breakfast is provided, and also to get the shopping and restaurant precinct of La Spezia. There is a good sized supermarket nearby, great for snacks and drinks etc.

The hotel located literally at the door step of the Cinque Terre Nature Park as the hotel reception and rooms occupies the second floor of the Train Station building - the train station from which you board the local train line to hop on and off and visit all the small and beautiful villages of the the reserve. Although the the rooms are close to the station, which is very busy during the day, it is very quite at nigh so no worries about any noise. Nice small breakfast is served in a bar 2 min walk from the Hotel. We also appreciated the possibility to reserve and use the privet garage parking within the public underground garage for an extra fee - I think its worth for the peace of mind. Short walk to the city central pedestrians streets with large selection of restaurants and meal options.

No elevator.

It was very close to station, as we were going to chinque terre, location is very convenient. Very good communication with stuff before areival, as we were checking in late due to traffic. I was a bit affraid about noise, but our room was facing street, so not noisy. We slept very well.

Room is a bit tight. If you need parking- reserve in advence, we needed to put car in station underground which was a bit expensive. Just good to know- in breakfeat you get coupon and need to go across the street to cafe to have coffe and crousant.

Thank you to all the staff for their help and friendliness, their attitude to help was fantastic and even if you couldn't get a staff member at reception and email was very quickly answered . The location was perfect for the train and the room was clean and had everything we needed for 6 nights in La Spezia. For the price this was more than ideal . Also a big thank you for recommending going to Porto Venere and not just focusing on Cinque Terre.

The only negative thing was being part of the railway if you were a light sleeper a train might have woke you in the early hours if it made a lot of noise with brakes . But we were generally so tired from all the hiking we slept through it . It was strangely quiet enough for the location .

Located close to station and old city. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were initially on the 4th floor with no lift but we were moved to the first floor near reception the next day when a room became available. Could not fault the service. Room was serviced daily. La Spezia is a great starting point for exploring the Cinque Terre villages and La Spezia is interesting.

No lift. My fault for not noticing this in the facilities on Booking.com. Room was small with limited storage for our luggage. Having a long vacation we are heavily loaded though.

As a first time visitor to Cinque Terre with access limited in by foot or rail only, using Casa Dane as a starting point is a great option. Even better if you're a railfan with rooms offering full visibility of La Spezia. Don't stress the noise - whilst it does get very atmospheric with the windows open, with them closed I barely heard a peep.

For me the bed felt a little short - I often found my feet hanging over the end. And just beware the entrance - whilst only on the first floor, Musuelini's desire to build a grand railway means that the climb is some 36 steps - which is approaching 3 stories. So if you have lots of luggage, you may want consider your options (which may mean storing it on the ground floor which may be available).

The staff are incredible. Guilia helped me so much and gave us advice on timeframes and timetables for visiting the Cinque Terre. I am so grateful. The rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff are considerate and thoughtful. Location is wonderfully handy above the La Spezia train station.

The floor is raised and lowered in certain places which is dangerous if you’re not watching where you’re going carefully and it’s a pain if you’ve got heavy suitcases. There are also 2 flights of stairs to carry your luggage up if you’re staying above the train station but the location is so truly convenient.
