Loved the authenticity of this hotel, in terms of the architecture and the sense of history. Amazing location. Views to the Alhambra from our little balcony. Perfect location to enable us to walk everywhere and nip back to the hotel if we needed to. We drove here - and the drive is part of the experience - you simply can't expect to benefit from the location and the vibe without having to negotiate the tiny streets etc. The hotel supplies you with great directions, and we were able to have a parking space for our time here (limited parking right outside). The hotel really added to our stay in Granada. It is unique.

I stayed in room 15, and the view of the Alhambra was breathtaking. The ceiling was a custom carved wood replica of ceilings at the Alhambra. Nice touch. The a/c worked well, except in the bathroom, which was a very minor inconvenience. Plenty of storage for bags and clothing to stay out of sight. Linens were high quality. The room had a bidet, hallelujah. The walk to the Alhambra is up a very steep hill (wear athletic shoes), which I loved but might be a challenge for those with movement limitations. Quiet street walkable to lots of shops and restaurants. The dining room was beautiful and had delicious coffee and breakfast. Would recommend.

Instant coffee in the room. As I wrote, the fresh coffee in the dining room was excellent, but I'd rather not get dressed and ready to have coffee.

Beautiful, serene riad-style boutique hotel in perfect location. Views on the Alhambra from the window and a 20 minute walk through a lovely park. Peaceful and romantic. Right in the center, restaurants, shops etc all in the immediate vicinity. Free parking in front. Would come back in a heartbeat!

We booked the fanciest room and the jacuzzi wasn’t working & the bathtub didn’t plug properly, so that was a bit disappointing. Driving there is a bit nerve wracking (going through pedestrian streets) but the hotel sent perfect instructions and we made it without issues.

Its authenticity was brilliant. The views of the Alhambra from room 15 were amazing. Incredibly clean. Bed really comfortable with lovely soft cotton sheets. Toiletries very good.

The WiFi was poor with no internet connection. And just a couple of very small things no lift use after 11pm, I completely understand the reason, noise travels in this old building and respecting other guests is important but it is a killer if you are on the third floor and been out all day walking especially at our age! English tea would have been great.

We absolutely loved this hotel. From outside the front door, you looked up at The Alhambra in all its glory, spectacularly illuminated at night. The staff were helpful and friendly, offering advice about what to do, where to eat, what to see. They booked a very authentic flamenco evening for us, a short walk from the hotel. Stroll down to the bottom of the street and a delightful riverside awaits you with lots of cafe's and restaurants. We were spoilt for choice. We would return in a flash.

There was nothing we didn't like but the following might be helpful. The hotel is not easy to find but well worth the effort. Please DO follow the hotel advice and DO NOT programme your satnav for the hotel's location (as we did). If you do, you will end up outside the Alhambra on the wrong side of the river and ravine. If you drive slowly and follow their directions to the letter, you will find the hotel.

Let your journey into the rich history of Granada begin with a bit of history itself - Casa Morisca used to be a house built by the 'Moriscos' in the late 15th century and has been lovingly restored by the Granada based architect Carlos Sanchez. The history hangs heavy in the air as you are transported back thousands of years. You could not ask for a better location - right in the heart of Albaicin, the old town of Granada; with the AlHambra rising majestically over it. The AlHambra, the neighbourhood of Sacromonte, Mirador San Nicholas are all within walking (more like hiking) distance from it. The staff is excellent - polite, friendly and more than happy to go out of their way to help you in anyway.

There is absolutely nothing to not like about Casa Morisca. Nothing at all!

Absolutely stunning hotel, the location was perfect situated within easy walking distance of exploring all of what Granada has to offer and with views of the Alamambra. Not for the faint hearted to bring a car but great directions and parking outside the hotel we managed. The bed was the comfiest ever, little details of embroidered hotel initials on the super soft bed linen and towels added to the charm of the hotel. A hotel that perfectly fitted the essence of old Granada, beautifully kept.

The hotel is tucked away on a steep street facing the Alhambra, very close to restaurants, shops and nightlife but quiet and relaxing. My husband had one of his beat nights of sleep ever here, as there were no windows to the outside. (The windows looked onto the courtyard.) the bed was super comfortable, and I was reminded by the sound of water rushing through the pipes when someone took a shower in another room of the many fountains and other water features at the Alhambra. The shower was strong and hot, the bath products were high quality and the towels were thick and fluffy.

Everything was fine.

My second stay at the Casa Morisca which hopefully says it all. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel, entry to which feels like you have magically stepped back in time to Moorish Granada. When I am in Granada next, I will stay there again! Thanks again for a wonderful trip.

It would have been useful for the teabags in the room to be labelled... I thought they were regular tea, but I think they were chamomile and I had a reaction.

The Casa Morisca hotel is in the perfect place in Granada, in the middle of the Albaicin, the old part of town. All of the town's main attractions can be visited on foot, or by using the frequent local buses, which stop near the hotel. The Alhambra is a 20 minute walk away, up a steep hill, the cathedral and capilla real are a 10-15 minute walk. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and snack bars nearby. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff are very friendly. It is one of the few hotels in the area with free parking. Breakfast costs extra, but was very good. Each morning we had a choice of omelette, fried, or scrambled eggs, freshly pressed orange juice, bread, cheese, ham, yoghurts, cereals and fruit salad. The hotel has a nice outside patio and the beds were extremely comfortable.
