The room was clean, as were all the premises. It was great to see a washing machine. The kitchen was spotless as the bathroom. I had an issue with the flights of stairs, and the management resolved this immediately and to my benefit. I was very thankful for resolving this unforseen issue. I recommend this holiday let especially the rooms, with a view.

I would of liked to be informed about the many flights of steep stairs as there is no lift and that is understandable as the house is not conducive for one but I would stress that renters should be made more aware of this unless I did not read about it.

I've stayed here before a few times. It suits me to be independent. Good to have use of washing machine & kit kitchen.

Didn't see any staff. Room not serviced - ok for myself as solo traveller -x2 towels left - not sure if two of you staying. Do need to be relatively fit - lots of stairs to top - sometimes lights not coordinated to go on - take phone, or torch to kitchen. 80 steps down to town - & up! A cab ( taxi stand at bottom of steps opp Coop) at end of day a gd option & not very expensive.

The room was very nice, the view was nice. Location was great as regards to the town and beach. The kitchen was also very clean and well stocked with everything you could need during your stay. The room was clean and comfortable

Wasn’t a fan of the bathroom door - shaded glass. I’m not a prude but when the light is on in the bathroom you can see straight in - not great when you’re on the loo! The toilet is also right next to the door. Also the energy saving bulbs weren’t great, trying to see what you’re eating whilst waiting for them to brighten up was a bit annoying.

It has a great view of the town, beach and sea from the front door. If you can manage steep steps, it takes no more than 5 to 10 minutes to get to where you need. Also it has a fully equipped communal kitchen 🤗

The room itself was small (banged my head a few times on the slanted ceiling above my half of the bed), as well as the shower/toilet (took a bit of manoeuvring). Also, it wasn’t clear what times the heating would come on - when we arrived, the room was cold so we turned the radiator valves around, but still no heat. It was only later in the stay that we found out we’d turned the radiators off, so that’s why they didn’t heat up when the thermostat kicked in!

The location of the hotel was great! The room was small but it was perfect for me - it had everything I needed, and was very comfortable. I didn't use the shared kitchen space, but I took a quick look around and it was very clean and tidy.

I could sometimes hear the other people in the rooms next to mine. It was fine when doors are closed, but one of the other guests went to the kitchen to make breakfast very early one morning and left their door wide open with the TV on, and I wasn't able to go back to sleep.

Fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of electrical sockets, including near mirrors. A cabinet in the bathroom was a nice surprise.

I was in the garden room. If anyone was in the garden, or the adjacent ones, they looked directly into the room. A screen or net curtain would be a great improvement. There was no privacy. The pillows were rather flat. Not everything in the inventory was included, e.g. a clock, conditioner. I didn't expect a garden room to be up a flight of steep stairs. The walk from town up 80 steep steps was difficult.

Great Location within easy reach to town center, Tate St Ives and surfing school with sizable the car park nearby (can be busy in the first half of the day but if you are arriving in the evening, there's normally plenty of spaces available. Fab view onto the harbor and town center. Entrance code locks are very convenient - no need to worry about the time of arrival, or having a key with you. Nicely decorated clean rooms as well as functional kitchen area - got everything you need for a comfortable stay,

This time I've stayed in room 1 and there were coupe of things that needs fixing, for example, one of the window blinds was missing a handle and I had to climb up on the chair to operate it.

This is an unstaffed property converted from a terraced house. You have a code to enter. There are 2-3 ensuite rooms on each floor, and ours was extremely clean and well-appointed. We were on the 2nd floor and we had a panoramic view of St. Ives. There is a shared kitchen with communal table in the basement, which is well equipped and has plenty of left-over food items from previous visitors, which is convenient for making breakfast - a bit like an upscale youth hostel! The kitchen is also home to a washing machine. The property is one of several owned/managed by a company in Falmouth. They were prompt to reply when we texted with a query. We asked about leaving luggage and they suggested leaving it in the kitchen. The property is convenient to reach from St Ives station, and there is less height to gain when coming from the station. You reach the bus stop on the Lands End route by dropping down the steps to the main road.

It would be unsuitable for those who experience difficulty walking as there are a lot of steps to climb up from St Ives centre, and then inside the property up to the room. This did not affect us as we were on a hiking trip along the Coast Path. The name of the property is a little distance from the Ocean, up a steep hill, but you can see the sea from the front rooms.

The view was fantastic. Equally fantastic, though unusual, was the “no visible staff” aspect — really unexpected but surprisingly enjoyable. Driving places was really good (easy to reach most places we wanted to go in under half an hour) and on-street parking is available (09:00-18:00, 2 hour stay, no return within 4 hours; meaning you can park there until 11:00 each morning and get back after 16:00 without getting a ticket).

The bed was REALLY creaky and definitely needs replacing. The shower room was a little worse-for-wear with a strange feeling underfoot in the shower and a weird isolator-ceiling-pull-switch; and having a dehumidifier in the room that we were expected to work was a little tasteless.

I loved my stay at Ocean House! The room was clean and pretty. Downstairs there was a nice sized kitchen with a washer/dryer that everyone could share (It’s not a lot of rooms- I had no problem doing 2 loads of laundry). They provide everything you might need for your stay. The location is fantastic- just down a (steep) flight of stone steps and you’re right in town. The view of St Ives Harbor is gorgeous from the front porch. Note: I wasn’t sure about parking, so some helpful tips: there’s a space right on the road on front of the steps up to the unit that you could pull over for a few minutes to unload your bags in case there’s no legal street parking at that time. I used “Just Park” to book a parking space that was far away and walked back (which wasn’t pleasant in the rain on check-out day), but there’s a nice sized parking lot right next to the units that you pass on your way up the street just before you get to the place (it’s a one-way street). I wish I would have known that.

Nothing bad.
