Booked a family reunion for Mum's ashes interment. Sister and BIL from NZ, Brother and SIL from Swindon, Brother from Aylesbury, we are local in West Penwith. Have stayed here several times, rooms were all nicely decored, 3 with estuary views. Very comfortable. Perfect location. Margaret and Trevor very accommodating in helping with the 'wake'. All went to plan, everyone fed and watered and good nights sleep for 3 nights.

Never like leaving, didn't see the baby shelducks on the last morning, hope they are ok, did see the Canada Goose Gosling from Birdies Bistro (breakfast).

Location was superb. Restaurant staff were great, manager was nice. Ample parking, lovely views, close to amenities, close to Hayle bay and all of ST IVES.

The room should have been a little cleaner, there were hairs in the bathroom, long black hair, both of the females in our party have blonde hair, the hairs remain the following day after the room was made up, maybe even worse. Other than this the room was genuinely lovely.

Staff service was was above and beyond. They were friendly, helpful and very tolerant. The view across the estuary and the bird watching were sublime.

The daily room make-up wasn't always that wonderful: bed not being made up properly and I had more towels than I knew what to do with (despite asking for them not to be changed). The shower tray in one room was blocked and didn't drain efficiently.

It had a large free car park. The room was very nice and cosy and clean. It was close to lots of different towns, which made it a great base for travelling around Cornwall (by car). They gave us 10% off food vouchers for the restaurant nearby for breakfast

In the image it shows that the area backs up onto a lake, which looks lovely and swayed me to book here. Unfortunately, when we got here the lake had dried out and was simply a field. I also wish they had told us what was open in the mornings (they are a pub and diner) so we could have utilised things like stocking up on water etc.

Beautiful views. Binoculars and bird identifying book. Loved seeing the birds, some I had never seen before. Nice room, quite small but well stocked. Look in drawers and cupboards as lots of things tucked out of sight, i.e., the binoculars and bird book, hairdryer, coffee machine, ironing board and iron and fan. Nice restaurant. Good location to explore Cornwall from. Very relaxing.

Minor issue. Carpark got rather full on the weekend so would be nice if each of the 9 rooms had a reserved space each. We managed to park but it was pretty full on the Friday night. Did not ruin our stay though.

Little challet in the grounds of the main hotel, facing the estuary. Great for bird watching at tide change. Good car park. Resteraunt for evening meal if required. Breakfast offer with nearby cafe. Ideal road links for exploring.

Outside chalet is seasonal and can feel a bit like camping out in wet winter. But it had heating. So it was warm inside.

The Cabin was small but perfect, with a table and two chairs on the deck that overlooked the estuary. it had all the facilities you would want plus, lovely white toweling dressing gowns and slippers It also had a coffee machine. Fresh milk and water in the fridge each day. The view from the door and window was over the estuary, it was just lovely a bird watches paradise. The pub served lovely food, if you didn't want to go into town.

There was nothing to dislike

Very comfortable bed. Nice to have not just a kettle but also a pod coffee maker and milk frother. Very good restaurant. Location on the water was perfect. Definitely found our favorite place to stay in this area.

Nit picking maybe but the bath was so short to be unuseable as a bath. I'm not that tall but couldn't sit in the bath without knees being raised.

Clean room with good facilities. Easy to get to from the A30 and plenty of parking. The reservoir location was great, but was only full for a short time at high tide. Most of the time it was mudbanks, although it was still an open view.

The restaurant in the pub finished at 8pm and was not open for breakfast. This was available at a bistro two properties down that only opened at 9am, so an early breakfast before a day out was out of the question. No chair in the room to relax in.

Fantastic location. Perfect for visiting Hayle, St Ives, Marazion ... Evening meal in the restaurant was very good. Birdies next door is also fab (discount for breakfast with room key). Bed was very comfortable.

Nothing really except I personally don't like sleeping on the ground floor (it's my issue I've had since I was young)
