the spa and pool is amazing. the staff are so friendly and efficient.

the room was very hot and with window open it was noisy. £400 for a hot room is a lot of money

Amazing location. We loved the room in main building facing the sea. Ugly butterfly restaurant was great. The breakfast room was fantastic.

Need to have a better in room dining options. What was available was very expensive and to charge £13 delivery just to send the food upstairs was uncalled for. They should allow us to order whats available in the menu in the Orangery restaurant and allow delivery upstairs to room for the same cost.

the location is stunning. the views are wonderful and the design and layout of the property is very cleverly done to ensure the view is captured from all angles. the restaurant staff and cocktail bar were superb. the view from our junior suite was stunning.

some hotel staff didn’t offer a 5 star service. bag concierge isn’t great, kitchenette areas were not cleaned regularly and some staff could be a little abrupt. the reception is also rather underwhelming when you come into the hotel. which is a shame as the rest of the property is really well appointed.

The Carbis Bay Hotel is beautiful - looking out straight over the beach - we were lucky to be upgraded to a suite with a balcony nearly on the beach. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly and we had such a lovely time. Whilst the staff were amazing, the hotel, because of it's location may not be suitable for all wheelchair users. The inclines around the hotel are really steep and you either need to be really fit, or have people around you that are really fit, to be able to get from the suites up to the restaurant and spa. I now use an omeo chair that made short work of the hills but my old mobility scooter would have struggled. The spa is beautiful - and there is a ramp to the heated outdoor pool. The hotel have a portable ramp to enable wheelchair users to get out of the restaurant and into the spa and all the staff in the spa were lovely - especially Linda. If you are unable to do a few steps getting into and out of the wonderful hydrotherapy pool would not be possible as there are steps leading up to it.

The location overlooking Carbis beach is exceptional and framed the whole holiday. Carbis Bay beach is beyond stunning. The main hotel, where we stayed, is a beautiful, Victorian period building with modern upgrades inside (ie. bathrooms). All areas are well looked after and the rockery/garden areas are gorgeous, colourful and beautifully maintained. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. Great team at reception, in particular Ilma and Naomi deserve mention, for all their help not least assistance with pastie bakery options, as we departed. There’s a very good choice of eating options on site, at Walters or The Orangery inside the hotel (where you also have breakfast) The Beach bar restaurant, the incredible Ugly Butterfly or snacks and such from the Deli. Also loved the convenience of the location so close to Carbis Bay station which is a 5 minute, one stop train ride to St. Ives!

We eventually got a sea view room, the view was fantastic! The room was adequate. the breakfast was okay, a little bland. The location was the selling point.

I travel around the world on business, the hotel just lacked a little something, there wasn't anything wrong with any aspect, I can't put my finger on why I felt there was something missing.

Beautiful hotel in stunning location. With 4 restaurants to choose from, we were spoiled for choice. The view from the hotel is incredible. Carbis bay is not as busy as St Ives so ideal to escape the crowds.

Beware if you go with children under the age of 16yrs old as the pool is part of the Spa and younger children are only allowed for 2hrs in the morning and 1hr in the afternoon.

The location is absolutely stunning and the hotel and spa is 5* The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. We had a gluten free breakfast hamper delivered to our cabin. The hotel deck is the perfect place for a cocktail and so is the Ugly Butterfly restaurant and bar. Carbis Bay train station is a short walk and for £1 you can see more of the beautiful coastline as you ride along into St. Ives.

We were lucky but I can imagine on a really busy day parking could be an issue.

Usual lovely location, facilities, and above all excellent empathic, understanding, kind,caring and attentive staff.

Provision of an illuminated walkway with appropriate flooring for elegant attire (possibly protected from the elements)o, leading from the hotel to the varied excellent on site restaurants might be a welcome touch. (Also a discrete weatherproof route to the Spa! from inside the hotel). Change of reservations placed months previously by text would be appreciated and giving the reason for this. We do not wish to be disturbed by adrenaline fuelled admin phone calls when relaxing on holiday. Small electric fires should be provided in the rooms for use if Northerly Gales are expected. This is normal in other hotels and with this facility placed in the wardrobe.
