I think this hotel is really amazing! I had been living here for a week. Most employees could speak Chinese and English, and that’s a pretty nice thing for a foreigner visitor like me. The hotels is 24 hr open, so no need to worry about the check-in time.

Since the hotel is a shared room, there will have some general questions. For example, the day-to-day routine might not match so well.( like me, I’m that kind of person who will go to a hot springs in 2 a.m. and go back with an instant noodles at 3 a.m.)(sorry that I’m a bad roommate)

Thanks for letting me check-in early! You know how thankful I am after long flight for a day because I had to transit in Hong Kong. Everything was unexpectedly pleasant! Even though it’s dorm, they have anything you need such as bathroom (one with bath up), toilet, powder room including hair dryer and hair iron. The room was completely quiet which is I really thankful! Usually when you stay in a dorm, you should be ready with the noise. The bed, linen, blanket everything was perfect! The locker fit my 21 inches luggage and bag. They have small kitchen for you to use. The laundry available for 2 machines (200 Yen for washing, 100 Yen for 30 minutes drying). Definitely would come back if I have a chance to visit Asakusa again!

Nothing. I just didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop due to my busy itinerary. If you have chance, give it a visit!

The staff were very nice and spoke English. The location was very accessible, just a few minutes' walk away from the Asakusa (Ginza Line) subway station (very easy to get mostly anywhere else in Tokyo) and not too far from several convenience stores. Coin-operated washer and dryer were easy enough to figure out, showers/bathrooms were always kept clean, and most if not all other travelers were quiet/respectful. Checkout was very easy, just dropped off my key at the front desk.

I do wish there was a bit more space to stow luggage, something like an overflow area. The locker provided was big enough to hold a large-sized luggage bag, which should be enough for most, but I had a second bag for souvenirs for friends and family back home.

Good location. - They have women-only showers on the women’s floor, which are very clean. (There are also mixed showers on the first floor.) - The staff is great. You can grab drinks on the first floor at reasonable prices - for example, a latte costs just 300 yen and tastes great. - The women’s floor requires a passcode for entry, which adds a nice level of security. - Large lockers (with keys provided) are available, spacious enough to store 50L backpacks. - Showers are stocked with shampoo and body wash, so there’s no need to bring or pay extra for those. - Free towels are included, and you only pay if you need additional ones. - The common area is well-organized and convenient for working on a laptop. - Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. There’s only an additional charge if you leave your luggage for more than a day after checking out.

The beds are designed with some open space around them, which makes it easy to accidentally drop things. - There is no separation between the luggage storage area (lockers) and the beds, so when people are talking or packing, it’s hard not to hear them clearly from the beds. - Climbing up to or getting down from the top bunks is a bit hard. - The hostel is generally clean, but I noticed a few small stains on my pillow, and there was a piece of wood above the bed that was covered in dust. - Beds located near the windows can be a bit chilly, though not uncomfortably so for sleeping.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, very close to Asakusa, Sky tree and the metro station going to Narita and Haneda airport. The staff was very friendly and polite. The whole design of the building was very modern and stylish and it was overall quite clean. I didn't get any breakfast there, and I'm not sure there actually is any.

I think the pictures are a bit missleading. It seems like there's a rooftop area to hang out, but it seems there's actually only a small area to hang out with small tables in the lobby, though it has places to charge your devices and it's got a nice modern design. Maybe the rooftop's closed since the pandemic?

All the staff were super professional and respectful, and they are available 24/7. This was my final stay in Japan after a long trip, and I was happy with the facilities. The lockers are huge, and I was able to fit a 28-inch suitcase. The bed was comfortable, and there was a little shelf area in the bed area where you can place some stuff, which was handy. Things can easily slip under the bed through the sides since it isn't technically a capsule, so be mindful of that when you pack up your stuff and leave. The showers and restroom were pretty standard among hostels. There was a vanity area on the floor where you can sit on one of those white cream boucle chairs and do some skincare or makeup. They also will store your luggage on the day of check-in/check-out for as long as you need them to. They even had a portable luggage scale on hand, which was a very convenient way of checking my bag's weight before heading to the airport. The area was safe and in walking distance of the Ginza and Asakusa line. This place is also near skytree which is a great sight to see when you are walking at night.

I think they could clean the white cream boucle chairs a bit more frequently since you can easily see any dirt or stains on them given their lighter color. The laundry machines were also kind of meh when I tried them, but I did have a lot of clothes, so that naturally makes it harder for everything to dry. I ended up just walking to a laundromat with big dryers, and that worked well. A lot of Japanese washing machines come with their own soap, but you had to add soap to the one in the hostel. Luckily, you can buy it from them or get it elsewhere. Overall, a good standard hostel stay in Japan.

This was my first time staying at a hostel so I was a bit nervous, but it exceeded my expectations! The facilities were great and everything was very clean, there was a funky smell in one of the bathrooms for the girls dorms but other than that it was clean. Staff was super friendly and always greeted you and location is very close to sky tree. Had no problems with the other dorm mates everyone was very respectful. Didn't try anything from the cafe but they have beverages available and a little kitchen for you to use and store your things.

The mattresses are very thin and uncomfortable , but i still slept through the night. You're only there to sleep. There was a funky smell in one of the bathrooms. The area for the lockers is a bit small so if more than one person is opening their luggage it can be a bit uncomfortable.

I had an incredible stay at Tora Hostel in Asakusa, Tokyo. This charming and clean hostel is perfectly located just minutes from Asakusa Station, providing easy access without being in the main tourist area. Honjo-Azumabashi Station nearby offers a direct train to Narita Airport, but check the schedules as not all trains stop there. The relaxed, quiet, and respectful atmosphere, along with a simple yet adequate workspace, made for a comfortable stay. The exceptional staff, including the always-smiling manager and Sam at the front desk, made me feel like I was staying with friends, offering invaluable tips and assistance. The well-thought-out room layout and large lockers ensured a peaceful and secure stay. I highly recommend Tora Hostel to anyone visiting Asakusa, whether for a short or long stay—you won’t be disappointed!

The hostel is new and modern. It’s by far one the best hostels i have stayed in Tokyo. I like how each dorm is arranged and it is spacious not too cramped compared to the last hostel I stayed. I especially like that each guest has its own locker without added fee, i find it really convenient especially when you’re buying stuff and you place them there. The facilities are new and the staff members are really friendly and helpful. The host himself is extremely friendly and attends to your needs. The location is also very close to several tourists spots in Asakusa so no need to take the train, just take a 20 minute walk and you’re there. You also have the view of the Sky Tree. The hostel also has its own coffee shop so you can buy hot coffee when you needed to.

Not exactly a deal breaker but the location is a bit far from the nearest train station, around 10-15 minutes walk. And if you’re bringing a lot of bags and luggage then it can be a bit of a challenge. But otherwise, the hostel is really great!

Love love love Yora Hotel Asakusa! The staff are super friendly and incredibly helpful. I have a fear of height, and my request of having the bottom bunk bed was granted! The facilities are very clean, and the bed is super soft and has enough privacy. I chose the all female dorm as a solo traveler, and I found long-lasting friendships that I made in those here! Was lucky enough to meet very amazing ladies with a lot of cool travel stories and got to hang out with some of them! The location was perfect too, close by 2 stations and walking distance to sensoji temple. But not crowded as it was in a local neighborhood. I would come back again and choose Tora Hotel Asakusa!
