The new decor is cleaner and more uplifting than the old decor. I liked that there is a real freezer in the mini refrigerator. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

The sheets smell of a laundry fragrance that is annoying. The fragrance transfers to pajamas and hair so it is with you until you wash off. Fragrance free towels and sheets would be preferable. The doors slam loudly on their own. The TV volume did not seem to change much when I adjusted it. I could barely hear it at top volume.

Excellent location and the remodeled areas are modern, bright, and very nice. Front desk staff were all very friendly and pleasant.

Fitness center was in a small closet-like space under a stairwell. No treadmill (in Eugene!) and the equipment was so crammed in it was difficult to get to. Parking charge of $15 is excessive considering it is not gated or in any way protects cars that are parked for hotel use only. Back exit doors off of back section of hotel do not close/open properly and there were times it would not accept the key card.

Clean, big rooms, nice pool, convenient location

The front desk said they couldn’t reserve a ground floor room because I need to call back an hour later. It is not hard to take a message and do it in an hour. The women at the front desk looked very unhappy to be there. Also it has a restaurant that is inconveniently closed at check out time for like 30 min!!?!? Who wants to wait 30 in a lobby for brunch? Not me! Way to starve your guests! Also the snack area is unmanned and employees are irritated to take time from what they are doing to serve you! The family in front of me were unhappy with the service and no one wants to stand for 20 min to get crackers. It is even more of a pain with toddlers. Hospitality is not what comes to mind about getting food here!

Nice beds and linens and towels. They gave me a courtyard view. Unfortunately they were cutting down the oak trees in the courtyard when I was there. There was a chain saw and wood chipper going all day during my stay. Very LOUD!

The rugs i the room smell like the housekeepers use some sort of deodorant powder on them YUCK!

Quiet and clean best describes our experience. Valley River Inn is conveniently located with many amenities to eat, sleep and shop if you need to. Our beds were great, pillows not so great for our needs. Our room contained a refrigerator but no microwave. A Keurig offers a taste of local roasted coffee, however if you are a tea drinker, you will need to run water through the machine once for hot water. The place met all our needs and the price was perfect.

No microwave or flat pillows. We like a choice in the three pillows they place on the beds.

Great location. Steps to the river. Gorgeous walking path. Upgrades in the rooms are nice.

Construction was limiting and loud during the day. The pool and other parts of the property were not accessible. Restaurant hours were unclear.

The location was great. The hotel was 50% finished/remodeled after a fire. The lobby was very cute and the inside of the rooms and hallways were clean and quiet.

We wish we could have taken advantage of the entire hotel, including the pool and restaurant.

Good service, very comfortable both the room itself and the bed. The room was very spacious with large tv that you can turn towards either the couch or the bed.

I was disappointed in the restaurant. The server was fabulous, but they stopped serving brunch early, didn't have several things on the menu and my glass of wine was about 2 swallows

The room was really great for easy access to the outdoors so that I could get my dogs out for their exercise. The walk along the river was really nice for our daytime jaunts, and we really appreciated the dog areas for when they had to be taken out when it was dark.

I think it's rather humorous that I - as a dog owner - must fill out a form swearing that I will keep my dogs quiet, under control, and clean up after them, or pay a stiff "price". Yet, at 1:30am on Sunday morning, the people in the room next to me play the tv too loudly, talk too loudly, and of course have noisy sex. How about instituting quiet hours between 10pm and 8am, with penalties for not observing "quiet time", so that we can all respect our wish to have a nice stay at your hotel. Just an idea!
