I loved our stay at the Tamarack Hotel! The location was perfect. The staff was always friendly and greeted you every time. The parking area was very secure. You could smell the cleaning products and always saw staff keeping the place looking nice. I would definitely recommend this location because even the surroundings felt safe and perfect for families. The room itself was also very spacious.

I wish every room had a beach view but honestly, this detail would not stop me from coming here again. This is a wonderful hotel!

Excellent location. Much of the paperwork was already completed when we arrived. Walking distance to Carlsbad Village (Norte Mexican restaurant was really good). They even have a supervised rec room (ping pong, etc.). If you're there with kids or looking to go to the beach, which is literally just across the street , this is your place.

No TV remote in the room. Maintenance had gone home by the time we discovered this. Found it the next morning under the bed. I guess housekeeping doesnt look under there when cleaning. The thermostat wasnt set to "auto". It was a fairly sophisticated thermostat, so I had to figure out how to set it to cool and then to "auto" so the a/c wouldnt stay on continuously. A/C worked really well, but it blew air like a hurricane and was really loud when on. So, good and bad there.

Breakfast was great. They had a selection of breakfast food including waffles, sausages, apples, juices, yogurt, and many more. Our room was right next to the lobby door which is great since we didn't have to travel far to get to the elevator. Our view from our room was the pool. Looks very nice. We were able to visit their observatory room which was located on the 3 floor. Our girls loved it. The staff there was great. very communicated. the hotel is located right across from the ocean. highly recommend staying here if you're wanting an ocean view.

Love the location the most. So amazing to just be able to walk to the beach. I appreciate the big rooms. I really like how there are organized activities for the guests to do. Wish Bingo was more often. All the staff are so kind. Oh, and the water machine is a plus! Kids loved the pool, hot tubs, and robes. My daughter liked the mints, although I never got one! She also said she liked the “deck”- it was a good view. Oh and the beds were comfy.

Wish the pool area was stocked with towels.

We adored the location! Everything was within walking distance! The scenery was beautiful! The value of the location more than equated to the cost of what we paid for staying at the hotel. And the staff was welcoming and knowledgable.

The rooms could be a bit bigger, but it was fine. We had a patio where we could see the beach, but just the size of the room was okay. The bathroom was okay as well, but the shower was small. Overall, everything else was great!

Loved the easy access to the beach and town. The staff was great and very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was delicious. The activities were fun. The pool and hot tub were sparkling clean, as was the entire building. It is always enjoyable to stay here. We will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect. No complaints at all. They even provide you with the daily paper ach morning.

Traffic noise from the ocean view street was a little loud, but the heavy patio door sealed it out effectively at night. It was worth it for the ocean view. The room was very nice - remodeled sine our last stay.

This was a great place to stay. Super close to the beach, easy to access. Everyone was so friendly. Our room was very clean. The pool tables and ping-pong table were nice to have when we were just hanging out at the hotel.

The room we had needed better mattresses but it appeared that they were in the process of replacing mattresses so that issue may have been resolved already.

Great location! Our first room was right across from the beach and had a beautiful view. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy and pool was really nice.

Second room was an interior room. It was very dark and window looked out onto a small space that was not private. Both hot tubs were full of kids. It would be nice if one were "adults only". WiFi was very poor throughout the hotel.

Omg this place is sooooo cute! Very friendly staff, excellent FREE breakfast, FREE parking. Free rec room with books, games, pool table, ping pong. The staff kept the property spotless. Beautiful landscaping. Right across the street from the beach!! We will most definitely be returning regularly!!
