Location, location, location. This is like staying right ON the beach. The room was spacious, most comfortable, and I enjoyed the white-water views and sound of the waves endlessly throughout my stay. Wood blinds allowed for filtering the setting sun without much disruption of the views. I requested and was given a small microwave and switched to a Keurig for coffee. The bed was very comfy and there were several types of pillows from which to choose personal favorites. Internet was good for streaming, and the tv accommodated casting from my device, which was a treat. Bathroom soaps and lotions were pleasantly but not highly fragranced. Lighting was good in the main room, with dimmers on the bedside lamps. Guadalupe and Michelle were very pleasant and helpful upon check-in. I stayed off-season, so it was very peaceful.

I could’ve used one more free electrical outlet by the desk, and a bit brighter bathroom lighting. (Almost too minor to mention.)

The location was perfect and the accommodations were really lovely. The décor was very much beach life and comfy. Upscale enough that I enjoyed the look and feel, but not so much that it's intimidating or sterile. All in all, I will be back again and again.

I didn't like the thick fog that descended in North San Diego County while we were driving to Carlsbad. BUT, while at Beach Terrace, the fog added to the ambiance.

2am VERY LOUD car or motorcycle sped in front of the hotel followed by absolute silence and then some people talking and then a VERY LOUD BANG next door or below my unit (45) .. and this was followed by MANY cop cars, sirens, AND the Police Helicopter searching directly down on the area like I experienced attending USC in Los Angeles. This finally subsided at 3am and I prayed that the people right next door weren't some kind of criminals. The next morning I told the hotel desk "I hope they caught the bad guys last night." However the guy did not know anything about it.

Room was great in terms of the ocean view and balcony--very relaxing and exactly what we were looking for. Bed was comfortable, and room temperature was just right.

Because of our room location, we had to go up and down two flights of stairs multiple times. This would have been fine, except that my wife was having some knee problems that required her to go down the stairs quite slowly. Also, room service coffee service could have been better--too weak and not hot enough, but we know we're coffee snobs.

The location was great. Right on the beach. Very large bathroom. Terrace was great. Very comfortable. Plenty of room for hanging clothes. Lots of drawers for clothing. Comfortable furniture. Very friendly staff.extra toilet pa

Door to room hard to open because of moisture. Swelled the casing around entry. Our room wasn't cleaned everyday. They forgot to put extra toilet paper on several days. We had to go up and get coffee, tissues, and creamer. The coffee maker didn't work that well.

Everything. Loved our room, large, modern, great amenities (coffee, refrigerator, large closet, etc.) Our room was right on the ocean and it was fantastic. We spent a lot of time on the balcony and kept the sliding door open as much as we could (the weather was very gusty, cool but mostly sunny). Very large bathroom and shower. Private toilet. Loved the vinyl flooring. Felt very comfortable in our room and spent a good deal of time in it.

There was nothing.

We loved the very spacious room with ocean views. Best location not just because it was on the beach but it was within walking distance to several great restaurants. We are already planning our trip there next year.

Perhaps a broader breakfast menu but we did love what was on the menu. Very healthy choices.

We loved the pastries and spa water. We loved the comfy beds, large rooms, bikes, the beach chairs and umbrella provided, we loved the fire pits. We would have like to have the fire pits on the early morning to enjoy coffee by the pool. We loved the heated pool!

We could also hear the person above us up at 4:30AM walking around for an hour. We did not like being woken up at that early. We could also hear the rooms music from the room next to ours.

Just incredible location on the beach. Rooms renovated with much taste. You can order a good breakfast. Comfy beds, big rooms. Just perfect. We had a very good dinner et Via Vai in Carlsbad (8’ by foot). Take a room with ocean view!

When there were problems (toilet running, sliding glass door to the veranda sticking) they were quickly resolved. Staff listened and were amazing, including the gentleman who fixed the problems. Beautiful remodel, cool firepits, cozy beds, great shower and shower amenities. They even provided dolphins swimming by in the ocean view.
