Amazing location, spacious modern room, great amenities supplied (including a sewing kit that I was able to use to fix a clasp on my skirt!). Great view from the 6th floor. The building has two elevators which are very quick. There are also both UK and EU outlets in the room.

The bathroom doesn't have a fan so it gets very steamy. The staff are professional in a more serious way, so they don't always feel the most welcoming. You will have to pay €150 deposit on arrival, which is another expense to consider, however this was back in my bank account within 2 hours of checkout. Complimentary water was provided however it was not a twist-off cap, and there was no bottle opener in the room, so I had to get creative.

I liked the bathroom (walk-in rainfall shower) and the quality of bedding. Room had plenty of storage space and multiple options for lighting. Location is excellent, a 10-minute walk from the Central Station.

I think the only thing I was surprised by, was that as soon as we left the lobby and entered the elevators, all cell phone reception was pretty much cut off: phonecalls didn't go through and 4G/5G reception was useless. This forced us on to the hotel WiFi, which I generally do not like (security reasons) but had decent speed nonetheless. Not sure what can be done about this, given that the space between the surrounding buildings is just a few feet and it's all made of stone through-and-through. However, safety reasons might warrant something to be done about this: for example, there's no way of using your cellphone to make a direct phonecall if something unexpected were to happen.

My wife and I really liked this hotel located right at the Dam. Great location to go anywhere by foot, train or tram, etc. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Very pleasant European feel in the lobby, corridors and in the rooms. Nice restaurant attached to the hotel; convenient if you don't want to go out. Provides discounted buffet breakfast if you are a hotel guest. Nothing but good to say about our 6 nights stay at the Swisshotel.

The mattress was a little soft, but overall the bed was comfortable.

The location of the hotel is excellent right in front of the main attraction of Amsterdam, there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel and it's about 10 min walk from Amsterdam Central Train station. The room we stayed at was good, we were upgraded to by the hotel without requesting. The staffs were friendly and help full with guest needs.

We use the hotel recommended taxi to go to Schiphol airport, which pick us up at the hotel and carry the luggage. We asked the hotel for the fee at first it was 60 Euro, then it has gone up to 67 Euro when we ordered, however the taxi driver charge my card 75 Euro ! We were in a hurry and only realize this after.

Super comfortable bed, great shower, and cold air conditioning in a clean room. After a week in Italy, we were delighted with the Western comforts we were used to on our way back home! The most comfortable stay we had the whole trip. Staff was super friendly, and location was great for a night of walking around the city. Very central and lively area on a Saturday night and close to tons of food options and shopping. Royal palace is right next door. We liked that the front door locked after 11pm and required buzzing in for security.

A little loud outside on a Saturday night, but as expected and it didn't keep us from falling asleep.

Room was slightly dated, however had everything we could need. The bed was very comfortable, pillows were amazing and generally spacious. The location is perfect and right in the middle of the main parts of Amsterdam. Everything is walking distance or for further places the tram stop is right outside. There is an abundance of places to eat and shop right next to the hotel. Staff were excellent and very hospitable. Allowed us to leave our luggage in their store between check out and our departure which was very helpful. Overall an excellent location and hotel met our requirements!

My only gripe was that it was slightly dated, however fit our requirements. There was also no plugs by the bedside which was slightly annoying. Nothing else aside from this

The location is amazing. Right in the center of the main city square, Dam square. Everything is a walkable distance from the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Helped us book a couple of transportation with no problem whatsoever. I would definitely recommend it.

The room was unfortunately on the backside street where people eating on the second floor of Burger King could see us through the glass. Not a big problem but we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy most of the time

The location was the primary reason why I stayed at Swissotel Amsterdam -- but the room and comfort of the hotel was excellent. Nearby were many restaurants and public transportation options and street sights. Excellent bathroom equipped with all of the necessary functions.

Unfortunately I could not get a foam pillow, and I'm not a fan of down, where your head sinks through -- that's really the only issue I had with the hotel - small issue I know.

Location was excellent, room was ok, the coffee machine leaked water Shower was not as powerful as when we first used it

The room floor wasnt cleaned properly, there was bits of glass on floor which we didnt break, my husband cut his foot on the glass, we complained as the staff did assist with the injury, we were offered complimentary breakfast for this which wasnt what we expected . We did ask for money off our stay as my husband could not walk as he could because his foot was paining him. The manager could have done better with this, the other staff were excellent.

The staff are amazing they are really friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble. The hotel is beautiful and smells really nice everytime you walk in, the rooms are really nice and clean and it had the most comfortable bed iv ever stayed in. The location is superb it's right on dam square with loads of shops, and eating places . It's only 10 min walk from central station. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will certainly be staying there again.
