Amazing location, literally right in the middle of everything. Staff were very casual but nice, loved the little chats we had. Very secure bag storage if too early for check in or want to store on check out day. Very comfy and big bed with big pillows. Cool third space they've created to sit outside of your room too.
A little noisy just because we were right next to the elevator but thats to be expected. Not many power outlets in the room and not near the bed at all. Bathroom was a wet room type so a bit hard to shower and keep clothes dry at the same time as it would completely saturate the bathroom

The Exchange is so unique. The space is used very efficiently and great care has been taken to make this an artsy, boutique hotel experience. We stayed in the Rembrandt suite, which was roomy and wonderfully decorated. Our room was spotless, the linens high quality, and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the rooftop views of the city. The staff was marvelous and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is perfect -- less than ten minute walk from Centraal Station.
Moving around the halls, stairways, and elevators might be a challenge for people with mobility issues or really heavy luggage. This didn't impact us, though. Some might be put off by the reception area, which is much more hostel than boutique hotel. Don't let that discourage you, though.

Perfect location, lovely friendly staff. Our room 302 was a black room, not as dark as you would think. View of the man street. Very comfy bed & pillows. Very clean & nice bathroom with heated towel rail & floor. I would definitely stay here again as great price & location.
Our first room smelt of damp & there was mould behind the clothes rail on the wall . I went to reception & asked to be moved. The lady apologised and moved us to another room straight away without any hesitation. Great customer service.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was fantastic—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. One of the highlights for me was the bathroom. Unlike the usual compact European bathrooms, this one was generously sized with modern, new fittings. The water pressure was excellent, and I appreciated the clear signage for the water temperature and shower options (overhead or hand shower). It’s such a small detail, but it made a big difference! The room itself was also impressive. It was large enough to comfortably accommodate our four luggages without feeling cramped—a rare find in Europe. On top of that, the location was perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. And I can’t say enough good things about the staff—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

we had the 5* room .. the hotel was clean little basic with things ..and staff very friendly and if your after a city stay then it is perfect lotion infront off the central station 5 min walk. and everything ect is very close. we had trips out of the centre and was easy to get to as tram metro train all very close. would recommend and stay again. also the bed we had in our room was huge and very comfortable.
slightly high in price. but also expected as its in city and has good location spots. we had no milk pots in the room so unable to have a nice cuppa In the morning. but this isn't a major issue.

Location amazing, balcony was great and staff are lovely. Room 619, big balcony. Stayed previously in smaller room and well worth paying extra for king suite. Plenty local places for something to eat late night.
Could do with some more lighting, understand the dark walls and fixtures are part of art, but could barley see, even some torches. Could also do with a deep clean, was some blood on soap dispensers and thick dust on the wall lights. Good for what we wanted but probs would have bothered others. Also being a king suite i expected there to be a mini fridge to use, only thing missing that we needed!

The hotel was in a perfect location. Really friendly staff. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again on my next visit
I had room 425 and literally it was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. Can only describe it as an very tiny attic room. Not ideal for a couple and literally no were to put our stuff it was extremely cramped and very claustrophobic.. Because it only had sky light windows. I would definitely stay in this hotel but not that room as the bathroom door handles fell off all the time and the bathroom would leak water out into the sleeping area while you were having a shower. I know rooms are small in narrow building hotels but this was definitely the smallest. Like I said would definitely stay in the hotel again but please don't give me room 425

lovely little hotel! There are elevators, which is great as the hotel has many floors. The reception staff were accommodating, all had a wee chat and made us feel welcome! It was great that we could also store our baggage as we had a late flight so still had a day to explore the city. Location is also great 5-10min walking distance of many of the main attractions, me and my friend didn't use public transport once cause everything was so close.
could not give us a twin bed on the first night but we managed to change into a twin for the second night for the remainder of our trip. The first room really wasn't too mine and my friends style was incredibly claustrophobic with fabric on the walls and covering the window. Our second room however was much better, nice and bright!

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We were able to drop our bags several hours prior to check in and also leave them after check out, which really helped our stay in Amsterdam.
We were a little confused about the room decor. It's appreciated that the rooms are supposed to reflect art. However, white MDF boxes all over the walls covering the lights, switches, and tv seemed more impractical. Beware of the tv box, me and my partner caught our backs whilst moving around the bottom of the bed....The style may be appreciated by others... maybe.

Staff were great, really helpful and kind. They offered to lock our bags away as we arrived before check-in time. View from room was fantastic (was a deluxe room). Room was clean and big enough.
I guess I was expecting a little more from the "designer" room aspect - its totally random as to what you get, but the one I was assigned was very basic and lacked the wow factor you would expect from designer rooms. This isn't a dislike by any means but more to set expectations. My dislike is that there was no tea/coffee facility in the room!! :)
