Extremely welcoming owners, room and bathroom clean and tidy. Breakfast choices were amazing, fresh and cooked and presented well.

TV in room very small. Tea and coffee provided but only one cup and no teaspoons or milk. Only one spare pillow in room as a couple would benefit with 2 spare pillows. Room got quite cold when heating not on (stayed in Dec) would benefit from rugs or perhaps complimentary cheap slippers

The hosts are extremely hospitable, welcoming, helpful, and friendly; the breakfast - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, and cooked Irish - was excellent with copious coffee; the (ensuite) room was spacious and clean with a kettle and generous tea and coffee sachets and milk and sugar; good TV and wifi; the location is just on the edge of Castlebar (on the road to Ballina), just minutes from the centre on foot (the train station is on the edge of the other side of the town)...

I would advise printing a short info leaflet about places to go/eat etc in Castlebar as upon check in I couldn't possibly retain ALL the names and directions I was given orally! (I should have requested an external/open view room when I was booking as unfortunately I just had a wall outside the window - this is totally on me, of course...I usually book hotels and always request this, but just didn't think of this when I was booking the B&B!)...

Strong, very hot shower, love the grooved shower base that you can grip with your toes; Deep base so you can soak your tired feet whilst showering. Windows to open for fresh air to dry washed clothes; lots of space to put your stuff on; desk with drawer and a chair; long wooden seat with 3 storage boxes underneath& a shelf above and lots of hanging space; 2nd desk for stuff; a tray for kettle and mugs & a teaspoon; tea/coffee/sugar/milk was in a wooden box on the desk and there was 2nd chair. Large mirror in bedroom; removable coat hangers so you can dry your washing at the open window. My large room was at the back of house and was very quiet. Good sized ensuite with lots of lights; 2 side tables, each with a drawer and a shelf; bed lights were over the bed, freeing up the side table for your stuff. A suggestion would be to have a jug of cold water, and an electric fan to circulate the air. Loved meeting Riley the dog who seemed to take a liking to me and she sat with me next morning at breakfast.

Tiny TV, both chairs are vinyl like matterial so if you are hot, you stick to them. If I'm being picky - just a little clean of the glass on the desk.

Location was great and room was spotless.

Temporary guy was on duty when I arrived after a hard days work. While I arrived ahead of another gentle he proceeded to deal with the ‘gentleman’ first. I was then told he didn’t have me on the list despite me having booked on booking .com. I had to wait while he made phone calls etc. the owners were back the next morning and couldn’t have been nicer. The temp guy needs some upskilling.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Carragh House. The accommodation was very nice. Oonagh and Des are super hosts, very welcoming and can advise on all the fabulous things Mayo has to offer. Rooms are spotless, beds super comfy and very tasty breakfast. We would highly recommend for an overnight visit or an extended stay and we would definitely like to visit them again.

Excellent place to stay. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Owners/staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy rooms and facilities. We were staying over in the area to play golf for a couple of days, and if we are ever in this general area again we will definitely not be staying anywhere else.

Absolutely nothing bad can be said about this place!! Honestly a great place to stay, great location and even nicer people. You will not be disappointed or let down if you choose to stay here. Outstanding value.

Carragh House exceeded our expectations, firstly ample parking close the the main entrance, welcome hosting , friendly and kind . Room was clean and meet all our needs . Breakfast following morning was cooked fresh without delays. Prefect location within walking distance of the entertainment we were attending and restaurants and bars .

Absolutely nothing honestly

It was at the edge of town so everything was walkable. The place was clean and small bit super nice. The workers/owners? Were nice and very social and friendly. They had great recommendations on what to do and what was in the area.

We loved our 3 night stay whilst visiting family nearby. There's a lovely, warm charm to the place and the owners were so so welcoming. We felt very comfortable here. The breakfast was great and the dining room is lovely and bright with tables nicely laid and everything well presented.

Nothing :)

Host was great; very friendly and knowledgeable. Basic accommodations. Quiet and clean. Within walking distance to a number of restaurants. Good basic breakfast. Good free internet. Plenty of parking.

Bed was a little small for two people. Room was warm at night and unable to control heat (but better than being cold). Castlebar is a terrible town to drive around - keeps going in circles; maybe could provide basic instructions of how to get in and out and around the town.
