The room met our expectations - everything was fine. We were given a room that the receptionist said we would be "very happy with" and I completely agree. Breakfast was good and of the usual standard. I was delighted with the location - essentially in the heart of Vienna at a reasonable price. The Mozarthaus, a Michelin-recommended restaurant, Stephansplatz and the underground are all within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel’s furnishings resemble a château-style design, which, while elegant, carry a touch of nostalgia. Though slightly dated, everything was well-maintained and added to the overall charm. I was unable to pair AirPlay on the TV with my phone, but that’s just a minor issue.

I couldn't have asked for anything more from a hotel. I had a comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a nice bathtub to soak my tired feet from a long day of walking around the city. It is very close to the city center hotspot. I would not want to be any closer. Only a block away from Stephansdom and the UBahn station. Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. The room key is on a large, heavy keyring, but they will gladly hold your key while you go out. I had the easiest time getting around from there. I paid for the breakfast and it was well worth it. This quaint, old school hotel just 5 - 6 min walk from Stephenplatz is at the perfect location for my Vienna trip. I stayed for 6 nights. The rooms were clean, had nice big windows, their equipment/ fittings work, the bed was comfy... and best of all, the staff (I met different ones during my stay) were so nice and helpful! I tried their breakfast one of the days, and it had a good range of food items, and tasted really good. I'd come back to stay again if I ever return to Vienna.

I didn't feel I lacked anything in particular while I was there, but I'm a simple traveller. I was expecting a toothbrush and toothpaste, but they did put a note to say that you could request for personal care amenities. I guess that helps to reduce wastage.

Belated review as I stayed here in June for a couple of nights as a solo traveller. First thing, I felt very safe here as a female traveller so I can recommend it to fellow solo girlies. My room was a single but it was spacious enough with pretty large bathroom. A single bed, but comfy! I also stayed here during the heatwave and was insanely happy that there was a proper working air con in the room - a real life saver! Another great thing about this hotel is its location, just around the corner from the Cathedral but the street is very quiet. I also received some good recommendations from the staff regarding restaurants so thanks for that! :) Overall, I really recommend this place!

An iron/ironing board in the room would be great to have!

Location was excellent. Good transport links close by and could walk to lots of places too. Staff very helpful, booked restaurants for us and happy to give advice if asked. Breakfast was plentiful and varied.

The room we had was at the front of the hotel and it was surprisingly noisy for a street that I would not consider to be a main thoroughfare. I like fresh air so the window was open and people passing by talked loudly and as the street was narrow it perhaps echoed more. Also the refuse collection happened really early each morning and again really noisy. So maybe ask for a room that is not overlooking the street if you are noise sensitive - or take earplugs!

The location was just great, 2 min from Stephansplatz and a short walking distance from all major attractions and shopping area. The room was huge, very warm and convenient. The breakfast was also very good, all products of high quality. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will return on my next visit.

At breakfast, I would prefer coffee made from an espresso machine rather than the large device that offers a variety of coffee options, which seem to be made from powders.

This place was lovely. The type of local, easy, simple but elegant basic place that one finds in the center of cities in Europe but somehow this class of hotel just doesn't exist in the US. The staff was friendly and pleasant, easy to communicate with. The breakfast was great, fresh rolls, nice variety of meats and cheeses. The coffee maker was fantastic. The location was great, right in the city center but in a pocket that was still fairly quiet. I recommend this hotel.

The room was fairly small, but that's OK, it is meant as a place to sleep and rest when one isn't out exploring the city. I would have liked a flatter pillow, yet I say this about 80% of the hotels I stay at.

Feels like authentic Austria! Old fashioned but in a charming way. Excellent location. Very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful from reception to cleaning staff. Always said hello. Beds were comfortable and rooms were a lot more spacious than other cities we’ve stayed in. Lots of tourist attractions, restaurants and cafes nearby. Public transport is nearby.

To be picky, you can sometimes hear noise from outside but that didn’t bother us. It wasn’t overly busy outside to annoy us.

Excellent hotel - brilliantly situated in the centre of Vienna . The reception staff are brilliant - very helpful and welcoming . All of the staff are friendly and provide a warm welcome . The hotel is immaculately clean . From the plate of local cakes and biscuits in reception to the hotels warm cosiness this really is a home from home .

Limited supply of hot drink sachets in our room but we could ask for extra milk but this in no way altered the fact that this hotel is lovely .

The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and plentiful supplies of hot water. Breakfast was tasty and gave plenty of options. The location was amazing - we didn't need to take public transport at all other than from the airport into central Vienna. And the staff at the Domizil are lovely, and very helpful. Definitely one of the best hotels we've stayed in.

I don't have any criticisms - I can't think of anything that was wrong with the hotel in any regard. The only thing I might suggest for the breakfast would be a couple more options of croissant (raisin, almond, chocolate) along with the plain ones - but having just plain croissants in no way spoiled my enjoyment of my breakfast (and the little Austrian cakes were amazing!).
