Comfortable bed. Clean room.

No breakfast available which made my stay a bit disappointing as it was Easter weekend and the area was very busy. I had to drive quite a way to find somewhere to have breakfast. I have stayed at the California on several occasions in the past and the breakfast and staff have always been excellent

a nice cozy little room (room 6) with tea/coffee making facility and biscuits topped up every day. the room was nice and warm and the bed was comfy enough. the bar was quaint and showed Premier football on tv and you could play pool for free with some very friendly locals.

Just a shame they no longer serve food, maybe they could strike a deal with a local to put on a breakfast ? maybe the cafe at the bottom of the lane in Benlleck (Bradleys) would be interested, i'm sure this would go down very well with clients.

The bed was really really comfy, and the room was quiet and warm. I had the best sleep I've ever had at a hotel or B&B. The room was really clean as well. The owner was a great bloke who was really helpful and friendly. I'd travelled alone and when sat in the bar he made an effort to talk to me and made sure I felt welcome and at home. The other people in the bar were really friendly too. They served an excellent Glaslyn Ale brewed by the Purple Moose Brewery and the bar service by all the staff was excellent. I had a wonderul time in their company. It is really well situated being near to beautiful resorts like Benllech, Molefre and Treath Bychan and is close to the A5025, which encircles the whole island, which makes it the perfect spot to be based during your stay.

There was nothing not to like. Everything exceeded expectations.

On a freezing cold, snowy day when we needed a warm, cosy room, this fitted the bill very nicely. The room was spotless, with a well-stocked tea and coffee tray. The heating was on, thank goodness, and stayed on till late at night - and was on again next morning. Toilet/shower room was small, but towels were fluffy and toiletries were provided. The Hotel doesn't provide meals at the moment, but there is an Indian restaurant close by, and next morning we went down to Benllech where there is an excellent Deli that does great bacon baps.

The bed was a bit lumpy, but was ok for one night. On our way out, we noticed some of the other rooms, which looked bigger.

The room was very clean, tidy and the bed comfortable.

The shower was difficult to control with regards to heat it was very hot and I couldn’t seem to make it colder. I didn’t however bring this to anyone’s attention as I then just used the bath. A hairdryer in the room would have been great. Also darker curtains, whilst it was lovely to see the sun shining in it did wake me up very early.

Being an extremely short-notice reservation, and having spent the day at Bangor hospital, I was just pleased to find somewhere at 10pm. However, check-in was welcoming and friendly and whilst no frills, the room was perfect for my needs. Great value, clean, quiet, comfortable bed, great shower with plenty of hot water, tea/coffee making, TV, and free parking.

Good location and close to local restaurants and takeaways, helpful and kind staffs, comfortable beds.

The bar was underneath of our room, we couldn’t sleep because the noise from bar, we went to sleep about 10:00 every night during our stay because need get up early next day. The shower was kind of broken and couldn’t turn down the temperature.

Nostalgic visit after 59 years to what was a pub we used to visit on our first holiday together.

Could do with some food being available although breakfast boxes were available. It was made quite clear what was available before our visit. Good place to stay.

Friendly staff relaxed atmosphere, just check in at bar and pay then shown around and come and go as you want. Nice and chilled and no fuss. Shower room a bit small but shower was good plus nice big bath towels. Bed comfy and good cooked breakfast. Nice seating area in entrance if you didn't want to go into the bar, plus plenty of outdoor seating. Even though it was on the corner of a road didn't really hear any traffic noise at night. Basic B&B, does what is says on the tin so to speak, excellent value for money, would stay again .

No mirror in room only small mirror in bathroom, wash basin minute due to limited space. Would have been nice to have a large mirror on wall in bedroom near plug so as to dry hair or check yourself before going out. No hairdryer need to bring your own. Could only open one window as handle broken, so poor ventilation. That said this would not put me off staying again.

Lovely hotel, very clean & cosy. Room was a good size. Bar was nice & the local people very chatty & friendly. Food was very generous portions & the breakfast was cooked fresh. The outside area was large & lovely to sit in. Staff were very nice & friendly. Was in a great location for exploring the island with a large carpark

Only issue with the room was the door lock on room 2, it jammed a lot & took a lot of effort to open it. The bar was good but didn’t do food every night & had limited vegetarian options. Was a good 10 min drive to find alternative food places.
