The room was very clean. As expected there were a lot of stairs, but that is the norm in vieux Quebec. The room was small but again that was to be expected, and we spent most of our time visiting this beautiful walled city. I would recommend walking north of the St. Louis gate for more access to better restaurants and night life. The restaurants within the walls were très cher.

I loved the old building that is the hotel, built in 1850. The location is excellent, in the heart of Old Quebec. The two receptionists, Laun Laun and Barbara, were friendly and kind. The hotel ambience was casual and relaxing. The rooms were quiet, comfortable and private.

What surprised me was that for such a grand piece of architecture, several aspects of the hotel didn't match the reverence of the building. For example, the carpeting on the stairs and in the hallways was old, worn and faded, and I guess, about 20 years old. The blue paint on the base-boards in the hallways was chipped. Finally, the mattress in our room was soft. By installing new carpeting, (plush maroon would be nice), and by repainting the baseboards, the look of the hotel's interior could be instantly upgraded from tired and old to respectful and dignified. I hope the owners will spend a little money to implement the badly-needed and necessary improvements.

The location is amazing. It was hard to find something economic and close to everything. The room looks exactly as the pictures. For the price it was good. They give you a lot of towels and blankets, which is amazing because you don't have to ask for it and it is there if you need it.

The cleaning could have been better. The floor was not well cleaned. I saw someone else's cut nails on the floor. That made me think on what else was not well clean during my whole stay. Also, you can hear EVERYTHING from the hall and your neighbors. So, bring ear tampons or put some white noise.

This hotel is perfect location. We wanted to see Quebec City before our cruise. We walked only 1 minutes and we were at the Frontenac and in the heart of the city. Also, across the street we had breakfast at a energetic restaurant. We even had French cuisine under the hotel next door. After walking around we had poultine and warm spicy port only 3 doors down. It was quieter than the other end for sure. The rate was perfect for us. We like Lana , she made us feel welcome and suggested we are able to walk to cruise port and she was right. Overall, just to put your head down at night and you are out too much to pay big prices. Save your money for the delicious restaurants surrounding there.

The location can't be beat, right in the old town but not in an area that's too loud. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room on the 4th floor was clean and had beautiful views over the town. Be aware it is an historic building and quite old, but for us this only added to the charm. The shared bathrooms were maintained well, always clean with good showers and hot water. Soap and towels provided aswell as a sink in the room. There was a steep old set of stairs to get up between the 3rd and 4th floor which we had no issues with as we have small backpacks but if you are travelling with large luggage or have mobility issues I'd advise requesting a room on the lower floors. For the price it's great value

What would make this exceptional is a better quality mattress.

Location was fantastic. Very comfortable bed, shower lovely and hot. Staff lovely especially Barbara. There is a fridge and microwave and tea/coffee in reception area which was useful. A table where you could eat food you'd brought in.

Room was not great layout, getting into bed on one side was difficult only a few inch gap. Curtain at window was not attached/big enough so it could not block light. If fitted properly it would have been fine. Room very basic furnishings which didn't bother us. Very clean. Tiny bathroom but adequate.

Close to the major tourism attractions, restaurants and cafes. The staff also accommodated well to drop off bags before the check in time.

Sometimes it can be noisy at night when other guests are talking in the hallway or opening the door to the stairs. It disrupted our sleep. But it was understandable from the other review we read before we book this place. So it was expected.

Located in the middle of old street with excellent location and view, across the street from popular restaurants. The rooms were small but neat, and the public toilets in the corridor were cleaner than expected. Very close to all the attractions in the old city.

The room is a little cold in October, but the hot air conditioner smells not good. The bed is covered with a blanket. I feel less comfortable than a quilt.

location was perfect, the room was clean and comfortable. We had a quiet stay, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room had heat, an AC, a window, a small fridge, and a private bathroom. The lobby also had a microwave and some basic kitchen wares, and a table. The value was unmatched. Parking was very affordable, and accessible, right across the street!

There was nothing we did not enjoy. The room exceeded our expectations as far as value for the price. Our room was on the first floor, and we had a private bathroom.
