The breakfast was excellent, always fresh, service was excellent and a great variety. We were travelling with ages 9 through 75 and there was something for everyone each and every day. The staff is the best, friendly, helpful, supportive and committed to ensuring we had a great visit. We were there over Christmas and asked if they could pick up a Christmas tree for the children, they got us one, set it up, and decorated it. This was our second visit to Costa Rica, we have stayed here both times, and if we go again would stay at Ten North.

Great location 5 minutes walk from the beach but tucked away on a side street away from the busier roads. We requested a vegan breakfast when we booked and Laura cooked different dishes for us every day. From traditional Costa Rican, vegan omelette to pancakes (which were the highlight). Our room was poolside. It had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. There was a white noise machine to use in case of any noise during the night time but we found it wasn't necessary and switched it off. Pool was perfect for a quick dip to cool off and to relax by.

The hotel itself is excellent, the staff is very helpful, everything is fine. The problem, which the hotel is not responsible for, is the town of Tamarindo itself - if you are not a night club dancer, avoid the town, because you will hear the rumble of the disco until three in the morning and a flock of extremely loud birds will arrive at four. If you want to party until the early morning, Tamarindo is a good choice, but otherwise don't go there at all. But as I wrote above, the hotel is excellent and is not responsible for any of the above.

Karol and Juan were great hosts, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Location is great and feels secluded once inside despite the central location. Very clean and well maintained. Great breakfast thanks to Laura! Filtered water and ice machine a welcome extra. Managed to park inside the gate, but security on throughout the night, so felt very safe. No problem with noise that some reviews had mentioned and we were there over a Friday and Saturday night. Even made friends with the resident cat (we called her Meryl)

Nice common area with pool. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Good location off the very busy main road.

Rooms are too noisy. I woke up every morning when the kid next door started talking to her mother around six AM. Loud music is playing during the night from all corners of Tamarindo. If you are sensitive to noise consider staying somewhere else. You might even want to re-consider going to Tamarindo in the first place. The kids loved the beach here, and we dont reget spending a couple of days in Tamarindo, but there are like a million other places in Costa Rica that I would rather visit. But that is a matter of preference and purpose of your stay I guess. Many people will find Ten North very appealing but it is not for all.

We stayed at Ten North from March 30 - April 5. We had such a wonderful experience. Our check in was super easy and Carol made us feel welcomed and relaxed. Within minutes of check in we cooled off in the pool and then headed out to explore Tamarindo. It takes five minutes to get to the beach We were a group of six with 3 rooms right alongside the pool. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast prepared by Laura. We stayed six nights and each morning we had a different breakfast. This is a smaller hotel which we really enjoyed. It’s next to a skate park and very near where they hold a farmers market on Saturdays. You can relax during the midday sun and cool off in the pool. There are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes walk from the hotel. Carol told us of a nice grocery store nearby where we could pick up ready made salads, sandwiches and rotisserie chicken. We grabbed a fresh baguette along with a small chicken and had lunch poolside on our first day. We avoided getting too much sun on our first day in town. The hotel is well kept. Our rooms were very clean and the staff do a great job keeping everything tidy. It also felt very safe. Carol helped us book an excursion The only negative comment is the noise that we heard later in the night from a club that is somewhere behind the hotel. The noise machine in the room did help a bit. We were not surprised by this as I had read similar comments before I booked. That said, I would stay here again without hesitation. The pros far outweigh that one issue.

Our stay was amazing at Ten North. Our Breakfast was a fresh smoothie each morning along with a delicious breakfast served. Fresh Fruit along with a different menu each day. The Staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. 5-minute walk to the beach, to shop or just take walk before the it got hot. Pool was right outside our room and made it so nice to take dip in the afternoon. Never crowded. It was the perfect little hotel that made it so family oriented and you were part of the family. We will be back for sure....

Not any fault of the hotel, but the loud music on the weekend coming from the bars. We were offered ear plugs if needed. Otherwise, everything was perfect..

We are 3 Senior Travellers from Canada & Ten North exceeded our expectations. The place looked as photographed and described on the website. Karol was able to arrange airport transport for us from Liberia which was less than the Shuttle services we contacted. Juan was there to to greet us upon arrival and he also provided very useful information about the area and answered all our inquiries. Our suite was exactly as described: the beds were very comfortable, clean and everything worked well including air con & fan. You could actually sleep with just the fan on at night as the suite was well insulated. We did not have any issues. The daily breakfast was different every day ~ there were days where we just ate an early dinner before coming back to swim and unwind. Karol & Juan were always around to answer any inquiries ~ they were cheerful, friendly, very helpful and very accommodating. The staff attended to our room as specified and the pool was cleaned every day.

The serenity of the pool area and covered terrace were a delight to come to after a day at the beach. Proximity to restaurants was a bonus.

Access on the road was not very inviting but understand the town is doing repairs. The Sat night was a rough night with the sounds of base pounding from the clubs as many visitors had mentioned. Fortunately that was only on Sat of our stay. We did have to switch rooms due to an infestation of bugs but they were accommodating. Would like to see a few bikes available to borrow, even for a few hours. Makes for a great option vs walking in the heat and to explore local neighborhoods. Maybe also switching up the breakfasts from scrambled eggs and same smoothie everyday.

We loved SO much about this property! First of all, the rooms exceeded our expectations. The room (we were in #3, ground level) was perfect for our family of 5. The sofa bed in the living room converted to a bed so that was perfect. It was so nice to have a little kitchen to be able to save some money and make a few meals at "home", too. We LOVED the daily breakfast -- definitely worth it to add the daily breakfast. Laura the chef was so sweet, and would go out of her way to make a separate dish for the kids if requested. We had chocolate chip and banana pancakes, eggs and sausages, eggs on a crispy tortilla with tomatoes and guacamole, the most AMAZING French toast....just to name a few. Plus the most delicious fruit smoothie each morning. Breakfast ran from 7-9 I believe, and was a highlight for us. The pool and little sand area was perfect. My kids almost never wanted to leave the property! We appreciated that there were so many other families around. The beach isn't far - maybe a 4 minute walk - and Ten North has beach chairs and a boogie board you can borrow. We also saw monkeys during our stay -- I forget the name of the lady at the front desk but she would go out of her way to point things out to us or let us know about things going on (like the nightly fire shows on the beach). All in all a FANTASTIC stay. It is not a fancy spot but it suited our needs 100% and was great for our family.

The wifi connection was pretty spotty. There were 4 or 5 different networks to bounce between and I'd get kicked off wifi quite frequently. It wasn't a huge deal for me but could be for someone who needs to work from the hotel.
