The location is excellent, right in the middle of the holiday village of Thorpeness which is quaint, busy in the day and quiet at night. The restaurant is busy , though and worth booking. The rooms are lovely, very individual, well thought out and exceptionally clean, warm and welcoming. Tea and coffee facilities were good quality. The staff are truly lovely, friendly but not over friendly and the food was excellent. Their breakfast choices are wonderfully eclectic and locally sourced. We love this place and return regularly.

I didn't like the bath/shower arrangement in this bathroom, other rooms we have stayed in had a full shower. The water can get extremely hot, which they do warn you about but be aware.

Thorpeness is a lovely place to visit. We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Dolphin Inn. Breakfast and dinner was simply divine, the room was spacious, clean and our bed was so comfy! The little touches of chocolate and brownies were such a lovely gesture. The staff were amazing and friendly and the location of the Dolphin Inn was just perfect!! We highly recommend this lovely gem of a place. Thank you for a wonderful stay😍

There wasn’t anything not to like!

the property was clean smartly furnished and well maintained. located in the centre of the village walking distance from beach and rest of village. food was excellent with attentive but not overtly in your face service, staff dealt with allergy issue without fuss and did exactly what was requested. bed was comfortable and possible the best hotel/ pub pillows for a long time. Also had USB charging point on wall sockets

poorly maintained car park with lots of puddles so had to wade from car park. dinner was served with a side salad that contained celery ( a known allergen)but no mention of this on the menu.

Lovely place to escape to for a couple of days away. Beautiful location, quiet and if you want plenty of walks available. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the Inn has a lovely atmosphere. Our room was good but would be helpful if it had a walk in shower.

It would have been better if there was a walk in shower. There are fresh fish and seafood shops selling locally caught fish and seafood and it runs right behind the high street providing a good selection of shops for anything you might need.

Lovely comfortable room with ensuite with a bath and very good food. The breakfast choices were great with some nice healthy options as well as a full English We enjoyed being able to walk by the sea. It was out of season, so very peaceful.

It's a bit picky but the room was quite hot even when we turned off the heating and the duvet was very thick. The evening meal wasn't cheap, but it was high quality restaurant food with interesting choices We'd recommend this place and definitely go back

Lovely big comfy bed. Nice little touches including fresh chocolate brownies in the room. I had to leave without time for breakfast in the morning so they made me a sandwich to take away which was very kind. Lovely location.

Would have preferred to have a shower

Food was delicious, staff were very friendly and attentive, room was comfortable and the Inn was in the heart of the village

The only thing which was a slight negative, the hot water was absolutely scalding, together with the hot water tap, and we burnt ourselves a couple of times

breakfasts excellent - healthy choices, very impressive presentation of food and plenty to fill us up! staff very welcoming and attentive to detail was evident.

the view from the bedroom window could have been tided, what I imagine of this area would have been really good to look at in full bloom- a roof garden outside the window - was very overgrown and unsightly a strimmer could have sorted that. but, in the grand scheme of things does not detract from high opinion we have of The Dolphine.

This was a truly exceptional place to stay. The staff were absolutely wonderful - nothing was too much trouble and they were ALL so friendly. The room was lovely, with a large double bed and many thoughtful additions. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious on all 3 days of our stay, and the inn was vibrant, with a lovely atmosphere.

Absolutely nothing!

Location was good breakfast was excellent as was evening meal. Staff were friendly helpful and efficient.

The bathroom had no frosted/opaque window which was visible from the outside seating area so obvious lack of privacy. Shower had no wall bracket and no screen/curtain to stop water spraying on to the floor - made taking a shower difficult and slip hazard on the floor.
