Please understand this is not a negetive, but a true factual reflection on the weekend. Overal a possitive. Room 24 : The view was amazing, overlooking the HMS Warrior in the dockyard, the harbour and also overseeing the spinnaker tower. Especially beautiful at night! Experienced some damage to the room from previous clientel clearly built up over time, which always mind boggles me how people can do this without a second thought. Iron burn patch in the carpet by the bed, a few purple staines centre if the room, toilet door handle (inside the toilet/bathroom) hanging on by a few screw threads. One of the chairs is split on the back cushion. Paint on furniture chipped and worn. Various cracks in the walls, window lock screws half torn out (old wooden windows). Massive bed, however, it has quite a thin mattress, which is a little hard and worn. It took a while to get used to it, woke feeling achey. A mattress topper would work. TV old and outdated, do not take a memory stick to play films, it wont work. Other than that, decor was nice, huge room, facilities nice, concept nice, staff lovely, but needs some TLC in the room. Main Hotel : Reception area beautiful, dinning area beautiful. The building itself is of age, and looks beautiful. Great placement for doing everything you could ever want. Spinnaker tower, Portsmouth Dockyards, Gunwharf Quays Shopping Centre, Cinema, Bowling etc all a stones throw away. Restaurants and pubs everywhere. Please note, weekends are loud outside, drinkers everywhere, and train station just across the road, so you will hear trains braking and coming in, Manager was a lovely guy. One of the workers there, lovely gentleman who works the shift after the Manager, amazing guy, very friendly and helpful. One of the most genuine people I have met in a long time. Breakfast was ok, a good variation of English Cooked Breaky, and Continental Breaky. GREAT chinese restaurant just down the road, opposite the Gunwharf Keys Entrance.
As above, a few niggles, but we actually really liked the room, the hotel and staff. The area, availability of local shops, restaurants and attractions.

Well I chose this hotel because it was close to the places that were the point of my visit. The historic dockyards are the home of HMS Warrior, Victory and Marie Rose. Step out of the door and you are two minutes walk away from the entrance of the dockyard. If you are the shopper, then you are 5 minutes walk to the Gun Wharfe Quays shopping centre which has many shops (of course) but lots of sitting/benches to sit and watch the to and fro of ferries and Royal Navy ships. The hotel is a classy looking place from the roadside, and inside just the same. Wonderful staff, very attentive, I spent 4 days there and each day I felt very looked after by the staff. A special mention for the cook, excellent breakfast each morning, you cannot wish for better. This hotel is well worthy of a five star review 🏴

The location is spot on! We were upgraded to a harbour view room which was beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful. Bed comfy. Bathroom spacious and clean. Shower excellent.
Stairs to get in the front door. Narrow and heavy doors to get in. No help from the first member of staff we encountered. The second guy did try to help but we had it sorted by then. The first receptionist told us there wasn’t disabled access except via a fire door he couldn’t open. This wasn’t explained on Booking.com. Luckily I was having a good day and was able to negotiate the stairs but it caused severe pain and affected my trip a lot. It is the only thing that would put me off returning.

The breakfast was excellent it was every thing you needed to set you up for the day from a full cooked English breakfast to a continental breakfast with lots of choice The staff were all very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you Dave is a great manager with a great sense of humour and very knowledgeable about the area and places to visit during your stay The hotel is in a great location central to everything you need or where you want to visit Also there is secure parking at the rear of the hotel which is a plus
The fact that we had to go home as we hadn’t booked for a longer stay

The staff were very friendly and allowed us to park our car before we checked in, so we could explore the area when we arrived. I emailed ahead of time to check and they replied very quickly. The rooms was very comfortable, had everything we could possibly need and the view was exactly what I hoped for. Breakfast was really good, lots of selection to choose from and the hot breakfast was well cooked (poached eggs were perfect!). The locations was a stones throw from the Historic Dockyards and Gunwharf quays so was easily walkable to anywhere we wanted to go.I would stay here again when we next come to explore Portsmouth.

We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman in reception, who gave us our room key and asked about our car in the car park. We went up to our room and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful view of the Portsmouth harbour. The room was clean and tidy and looked very welcoming. We had a good nights sleep followed by a lovely cooked breakfast served by a very friendly young lady. We will definitely come again!
Although the room was clean and tidy, the decorations looked a bit tired and in need of a bit of touching up here and there. It would have been nice to open both windows, as it was quite hot when we stayed, but there was a fan, which we didn't use. I would have liked a small table or bench to use my laptop on. Also think there should be a tray under the kettle and tea making equipment.

Arrived at the hotel a little earlier than the usual check in time but they had a room available and gave it to us. I think it was the owner handling check in and he gave us a warm welcome. The allocated room (11) was of reasonable size, comfortable and spotlessly clean. A superb breakfast is served between 0700 - 0930 by the lovely Anya who looked after us admirably - nothing was too much trouble helping to ensure that we had the best possible start to the day. The hotel is ideally located, has some private parking but in any event only a short walk from Portsmouth Harbour Station, Gunwharf Keys and HM Dockyards. Thouroghly enjoyed our stay and shall return.
Nothing - it was all good.

Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. An excellent choice of food at breakfast, happy to adapt the full English to whatever you asked for. We had a lovely big room at the front overlooking the harbour, with a perfect view of the Spinnaker Tower and HMS Warrior. Perfect walking distance to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Old Portsmouth, shops and restaurants.
We can't think of anything we didn't like. Only slight negative was that some of the shower jets must have been blocked as you had to move around a bit to get a full stream of water, but not a big problem.

We arrived late at night, off the ferry, but a friendly smile awaited our arrival! Secure parking was an absolute bonus as our car was loaded with luggage. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with all the extras, including biscuits to accompany our morning coffee. Breakfast was great... We hadn't seen 'Kippers for breakfast' in years... So that was a treat! Lovely friendly and attentive waitress! We liked the fact that we could wait to checkout at 11am as it meant we could get a few emails sorted before our departure and long drive!

Free parking to rear of the hotel, Lift to all floors, Room was fitted out well with TV and good sized shower room, The breakfast was excellant served with fried bread which is very rare at many establishments, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, a nice bar that sold bottled beers and spirits. This hotel is right opposite the Harbour Train station and opposite the bus terminus. The Hotel is only a 2-3 minute walk to Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnacker Tower.
I have no recommendations that could improve the stay as it is well looked after
